I live nearby and this is my go to spot for a classic plate of caribbean food whether you want jerk chicken, bbq chicken, or oxtail. and they've got all the yummy fruit based juices to match. It's a small shop but the food is made great every time and I never find myself waiting more than 15 minutes

Stopped here Thursday night the staff was super friendly and welcoming. I got a salmon dinner with macaroni and rice and peas and a oxtail dinner. Food was good as usual

The most horrible Caribbean food ever. No seasoning. They don't care . Take pride when people order from your restaurant nowadays money is on a budget . This was suppose to be good smh

A local friend n I went here on Saturday Morning around 12-1a and they were open I love Caribbean food and when walking in, the food smell hit you right from thE door.Inside is small and narrow so no seating. They sell different drinks from Caribbean to American. Prices are reasonable as they sell either medium or large plates.They have a hot bar with Macaroni Pie, stew chicken, jerk, curry shrimp, rice and peas, noodles, cabbage to name a few. I had the curry shrimp with Macaroni pie and cabbage and it was amazing! The flavors were so good. I would recommend anyone visiting NY that's on the Utica side to check out thIs place.

A little too spicy.Pros- open late 5AM late! Cons - the goat curry is a little too spicy. I don't mind spice, and love to eat spicy hotpot etc. But this spice was overpowering, I never had Jamaican/Caribbean food this spicy before. It tasted good, but with that spicy level; heartburn and indigestion hits immediately.

Just like the oxymoron that is the namesake- this spot is a well oiled machine that delivers delicious soul food.You just don't go wrong with a joint that is 24/7(?!) with a kitchen area 3x the size of the order counter. While they can only fit about 5 patrons at a time the counter is end to end filled with meats, carbs, veggies and shrimp. To the right wall, prices are afixed to the platters taped to the wall. I opted for oxtail, rice & peas and cabbage. And small jerk chicken with Rasta pasta. Legitimately flavorful; the oxtail was fatty, fall off bone sweetly stewed over some of the best rice and peas. Jerk was moist and seasoned (not to death either) and Rasta was like a loose Alfredo that's al dente and spicy. This place is good.

I was ordering food at 2am i believe, around the 17 or 18th of december, lady was very rude, and gave me the smallest of the wings from the bottom of tray for 14 dollars and change (6 baby wings) they taste good but way overpriced in my honest opinion, especially with that nasty attitude.

Food was disgusting. Jerk chicken tastes like was not cleaned properly and barely cooked still pink . $14 for not enough chicken . THEN THE NIGHT BEFORE I CAME AND GOT AN OXTAIL PLATE FOR SMALL FOR $20 with 5 BLOODCLATT OXTAILS . Then gravy taste like bare oil and grease . DISGUSTING . Don't come here . Don't spend ya money save it !

I have to be honest, I've never put in a review like this. but I stopped in because it said Porgy 12 Oz 6.99ok so when I asked the lady for the special, she said 14.00 with a rude attitude after she was on her phone sitting down. i said, ok she said what do I want with it & i asked her what does it come with? so she run options to me rice, gravy & cabbage. I asked her I thought u had the 6.99 special & she sad u want that? I smiled because im in the restaurant business, so said cool I keep the plate & give a piece of chicken. so 18.00 it's cool, food look good, why not. then she asked me really Gasty style if I was good I tell her but ur energy is off & I just came to give business. Long story short the food was not good, rice undercooked, porgy like it sat there! Cabbage no flavor. I stil left a 2.00 tip but extremely disappointing. Rude, food not good & she needs to find another occupation. Perhaps on instagram which I'm sure she was on.Bless up.
