I've been wanting to try steak au poivre for a minute and was very excited to score a res here with my girlfriend. Showed up 11:30 to a line already built up outside. Very warm and cozy on the inside, lots of really cool artwork on the walls as well. Staff was very nice, and what what can I say? We're here for the steak! Perfectly cooked medium well New York strip smothered in that au poivre sauce. I don't usually love peppercorns, but this was probably one of the best steaks I've had in a while. Juicy, tender, lean. The whole thing was perfection!

{Overall: 4.5; Food: 4.5} Ambiance: 4; Service: 4An iconic, very fun, vibey French bistro in SoHo. Everything we ate was good. The Pate Maison and Frisée really stood out. Amazing cocktails. The ambiance is lively. The restaurant is really popular and brings different crowds together. We saw both business people and fashionistas having cocktails or dinner. Upstairs, on the way to the bathroom, I passed a psychic doing a tarot reading for a young finance guy in a suit.

Needed to try this burger! It was good. Not my fav sadly - guess I'm not a peppercorn lover? We liked the cozy ambience and staff was very nice. Also liked the Soufflé Pancake (with apple) - overall we did enjoy but I'm sorry I don't think the hype is real.. don't come for me!

We ordered a ton a food and split it all. I mean it's a classic for a reason, everything was delicious. The risotto shocked me though, it was one of the best things we got and it's not what they're known for necessarily. Their steak with the special sauce is famous and it was good. I would say the sauce is what makes it special so definitely order an extra side of it for your fries. The lamb chop was also impeccable and bursting with flavor. These two dishes would definitely recommend. Granted I'm not a huge beef person so take it with a grain of salt. I was also a fan of the monkfish. For dessert, of course we ordered everything. The winner by a landslide was the bread pudding. Like WOW, this was probably the best bread pudding I've ever had. I was pleasantly surprised by the cream puffs, the chocolate coated over it was really good. Side note: This place says they only sell 12 burgers a night and only at the bar but I swear... I might've seen more than 12 burgers leave that kitchen.

I came here for brunch with a friend, and although the place was fully booked, we decided to try our luck as walk-ins. After a brief 10-minute wait, we were offered seats at the bar.Let me start with the martini--it was both strong and absolutely fantastic. We kicked off our meal with the oyster du jour, which was incredibly fresh. Naturally, we had to try the famous burger au poivre, served with a side of perfectly crisp fries. The burger, cooked to perfection at medium, was outstanding. And the sauce? Absolute crack!!! Easily one of the best burgers I've had in the city. Highly recommend.

Been here many times. Had to cancel my res when I got the noro virus. Called and emailed. Went two days later when I felt better. They charged me $150 for a cancellation fee. Tried explaining to them that I was sick. They said we don't care that's our policy. They didn't actually say they don't care but they said that's our policy. So warning. If you don't want to be out 150 or whatever the per person charge is go if you are sick. Bleeding. Shot etc. cause they don't give a s. Will obviously never go back. Most of the time the food comes out cold now. Too bad but what a dick move

Carrément magnifique! Drool.Easily one of the best restaurants I've been to so far in NYC. Oysters were super fresh. I got the scallops for mains and it was very light, full of flavor, plated with finesse. My friends both got the steak frites which was tender and cooked to perfection - 0 grey band. Profiteroles were delectable. What really made this place for me was the atmosphere - super vibrant, mid 20s to mid 40s clientele - it had that buzz to it. Waiter had a great sense of humour. Only critique was the speed for food between the ap and main took almost 40 mins to arrive but it was well worth the wait. Can't wait to go back and try their burgers. A must go!

I can definitely see why Raoul's has a great reputation! I loved the vintage theme of the restaurant with ambient lighting, portraits all over the walls, and even a super tiny staircase leading to the upstairs bathroom. The food was great! The steak is definitely a must try. The meat was cooked perfectly, and the fries were super crispy. The peppercorn balanced perfectly with the sauce and gave it a nice little kick. It was a unique, buttery, sauce that left you wanted to dip the steak in more. The service was great, they even brought me more sauce. The burger was also really good. The bun was soft, the burger was juicy, and the condiments complimented the dish as a whole. I was told that during dinner time, only a certain amount are released. I would definitely come back for more, if I get lucky with a reservation again :).

As stated in previous reviews, this restaurant is greedy and fee hungry- I booked a res through Resy for 4 people and 2 of the people were flying into nyc and their flight was canceled, so it was impossible to make it to the reservation. I canceled the reservation over 6 hours before and also called the restaurant, and whoever picked up told me the fee would be waived in my case. The fee was not waived in the end- I was charged $200 and even after emailing and explaining everything, they would not budge. I will never go here again.
