I think I've found the best ramen in NYC. Bold claim? Maybe. But after trying Ramen by Ra, I'm confident it belongs at the top of the list.Tucked away in the Bowery Market, this hidden gem might be easy to miss, but once inside, you're greeted with a warm, inviting atmosphere. Chef Rasheeda Purdie's hospitality makes you feel right at home, and you can tell she takes real pride in her craft. Watching her carefully prepare each bowl--thoughtfully layering ingredients, ensuring every element is just right--was a testament to her dedication.I ordered the steak and soy egg ramen with chimichurri sauce, and I'll admit, I was skeptical at first. Chimichurri in ramen? But one bite in, and I was sold. The flavors were bold yet balanced, unexpected yet harmonious. Every spoonful kept me coming back for more, and before I knew it, I had finished every last drop.If you're looking for next-level ramen with a unique twist, Ramen by Ra is an absolute must-try. Chef Purdie and her ramen are nothing short of amazing!

The only word that comes to mind is: delectable. My jaw dropped after having my first bite of the steak soy egg ramen and stayed there pretty much the whole meal. We also got the bacon egg and cheese ramen which was delicious, but the steak and soy egg was the star of the show. The owner was timely, very personable and was even willing to answer multiple questions that fellow diners were asking about her business model and low waste efforts. Definitely a top 3 meal in NYC. I'd give it 6 stars if I could.

This place! I first heard about it online, I think. And I meant to post much sooner but life can easily distract. That said.. I NEVER forgot and have regularly shared this place as often as my friends will listen haha.. Ra is lovely. Ra's ramen was phenomenal. I love that she not only took traditional favorites and gave them a little twist.. but she's also from MD, pretty sure she studied in Japan... if I'm not mistaken and well that sold me right there (PS I I'm from MD too) :) I must say, although the space is small and in a spot I may not typically frequent, I truly love the vibe. I love that it is a small counter, few seats and an open kitchen, love that you order ahead of time, which was hard bc for the life of me I couldn't pick just one. So to be encouraged to pick and pay before you go is really a good thing for the indecisive haha! Also, my choice was fire!!! Like absolute perfection. She told me the gravlax was her favorite too so I felt like I chose well! Ingredients were top notch. Flavors were on point and I left so frikkin full - so I suggest arriving very hungry and ready to eat. You will not be disappointed. I promise!

Amazing service, amazing food full of flavor. Small black owned businesses are not coming to play. I had the salmon ramen, all ingredients were fresh and establishment was clean. Although the place is small, all that needs to be improved is the size of the restaurant. Rasheeda the owner was super hospitable and friendly. The ginger tea was also hot and nice to accompany my ramen on a cold day

This is my favorite ramen spot in NYC. The steak and eggs is my go to. This time I got bacon. It was fried and crispy and perfect. I love the chimichurri with the steak. And the broth is divine

A black owned ramen spot! Yes please. It was such a pleasure meeting Rasheeda and dining here twice this year. Reservations are required (via Resy) and since this is counter dining you don't have to worry about crowds. It's such a chill vibe / ambiance. I love how Rasheeda incorporates NY swag with asa-ramen. I recommend the bacon egg and cheese ramen when you do go and do know it's timed seating (45 minutes per reservation).

If you can get a reservation for this place , please do. What a great experience! Waited a month to try but it was worth it every bite! Located in the Bowery market , very small space but easy to find. You must choose your ramen options during booking , prepaid . I went with the steak and soy egg, minus the egg. It was delicious ! Full of flavor , I enjoyed the chimichurri-shoyu it was perfection added with the rest of the ingredients which were crispy shallots, leeks, and sesame. Delish! My friend chose the bacon, soy egg & cheese. It not only looked amazing she said it was delicious. Ingredients included lard-shoyu, smoked bacon, soy marinated egg, Parmesan, black pepper, & scallions. Tuh! We were slurping out that bowl towards the end ! Great experience, I want to go again!!

I love how unique this ramen place is. Don't expect your typical tonkatsu, shoyu ramen but instead embrace the different flavors Chef Rasheeda offers.I was intrigued by the steak and soy egg ramen as well as the bacon, egg and cheese ramen but opted for the steak one. The ramen is quite pricey but you need to take into account the location and that she is a one woman operation. The steak and egg ramen with chimichurri was DELICIOUS. The broth was so flavorful and the steak was perfectly medium rare. The chimichurri added that hint of lime that paired so well with the noodles. Great portion size too! This is one of those hidden ramen gems you must visit. Gotta go back to try the other ramens.

Absolutely perfect meal here in every possible way. I had the bacon egg and cheese ramen, which was heavenly -- the salty smoky fattiness of the bacon (and its grease) added a rich depth to the broth. I was nervous when I ordered this as I'm not a fan of cheese in some dishes when it turns into a stringy (gaggy) mess so I thought the grated parm was perfect -- another element of saltiness. I appreciated the intimacy of the experience too -- chatting with Rasheeda about her food and art. Can't wait to go back
