Such a fun spot for elevated Chinese food! The ambience is excellent and so creatively decorated. Food is excellent and there's a fun twist on every dish. The service was attentive and so warm, and though my friend and I were there for awhile, we never felt rushed. It was a bit pricey but worth it for the service and elevated dishes. We shared the snow pea shoots, pork dumplings, and pepper chicken with scallion biscuits. Pork dumplings were very flavorful and featured lots of great textures -- maybe a smidge salty. The chicken and biscuits felt like a southern twist on a Taiwanese classic like peppercorn chicken. The fig jam was spicy and a nice surprise, and tasted amazing in the soft scallion biscuits. Definitely try this dish out! Pea shoots were a great vegetable to balance it all out, and was dressed in a yummy savory and citrusy sauce.

Potluck club. If you grew up in an Asian household or have an appreciation for Cantonese movies. Walking in here felt quite nostalgic and hysterical at the same time seeing things that you remember around your house or the films played back in the early 80s, 90s, and 2000s.The food is modern Chinese food style. The menu selection is not a lot but enough for you to browse and decide on what to have. Service was busy and attentive. We called ahead to reserve a table for five people. I recommend calling ahead to making reservations. All payments are accepted, cash is recommended. Parking is available outside, you may have to search around and pay at a meter. The decorations at Potluck club were fun to look and stare at some that were displayed at a larger scale. When you see the menu, notice the names in it and you might connect it to the films you have watched.

Super famous potluck club in chinatown! This place is a new classic in Chinatown - I love how it both is a modern approach to chinese food but also pays homage to the history of chinatown. The place is pretty small, so be prepared to wait. The food was great, although some of the flavors were (intentionally) a little unique / nontraditional. - oyster mushroom rolls: definitely order, a favorite - chicken: also great, but would be open to trying something different next time - snow pea shoots: interesting sauce, but i liked it and would get it again. They also have amazing merch, peep the merch case!! Love the hat and shirt. I would say I like the sister restaurant Phoenix Palace a bit better, but still would come back here!

Dare I say my favorite restaurant I've tried in New York? Every single thing on the menu is beyond tasty. The only thing I wasn't super impressed by was the fried rice, but it was still solid! Would probably try the noodles next time instead. The tiger shrimp and potstickers stole the show - followed closely by the curry tofu and the biscuits as part of the chicken and biscuits meals. The ambiance is super cute! A pretty narrow restaurant that extends way back, with a bar in the middle and in the back. Super friendly service, they accommodated an extra person at our table last minute. Will definitely come back!

One of the OG's in the trendy Chinese fusion scene and must visit for those who love Hong Kong flavors and street culture. Came for brunch since all dinner resys were booked (validating my friends' opinions that dinner is the better menu), but still had a lovely time. The interior is a fun mix of old and new, with a cozy nostalgia of night market aesthetic and dim sum parlor during HK's heyday. The marquee over the bar sends positive vibes over the diners, while a trip to the bathrooms feels like you might be entering an escape pod that rockets you into a future in which everything is right again. No really, they're pretty cool and you should check it out. Weekday brunch is a pretty easy feat to carry out, and it was nice not to have to weave our way through too many people in the restaurant. We got to pick seats at the kitchen counter in the back, which is an entertaining spot to watch dishes getting prepped and sent out. The only downsides are low-backed stools and getting food envy whenever something comes out that you didn't order. You have to start with the HK milk tea or coffee milk tea, which in true Chinese fashion, can be customized to sweetness level. I wasn't really a fan of the Taro Shrimp Fritters, but the Pork Belly Cha Siu breakfast sandwich and HK French Toast were delightful. The sandwich works particularly well with the milk bread buns which really transport your taste buds to Chinese bakeries. The cha siu itself is actually fairly light, chewy as cha siu should be but still tender. It comes with a heaping side of fries which are crispy but oversalted. The Radish Cakes were the star of the eggs and hash, but the bacon was overcooked and the eggs were just alright. Would have preferred just a side of radish cakes dim sum style. Service was so pleasant, from our hostess to our primary server, to other staff who checked in to make sure we were enjoying our time and kept our water carafe full. Overall, lots of wins but also some misses which will probably keep me from coming back for brunch, but worth a try for anyone who finds themselves in the area - and I might see you back for dinner!

Awesome interior! So beautiful, popping with color, but not too bright or overwhelming. The staff were super friendly and accommodating and sat us right away when we arrived.4 people for 4 dishes--Spicy eggplant-- great spicy vegetable dish. Lots of green onions to add a little crunch. Great dish cooked well and seasoned great.Tiger prawns-- these were also spicy! Didn't realize they would be, but pleasantly surprised to have a nice kick which paired nicely with the sweet candied walnuts.Salt and Pepper Chicken with Scallion Biscuits-- the star of this meal for me. The chicken was fried/cooked beautifully!! Super super juicy and the salt/pepper was not overpowering at all and it paired perfectly with the jam. The scallion biscuits were also wonderful and the jam on these was great too!!We also got the rice noodles which were the close second best dish. Also seasoned and sauced BEAUTIFULLY and cooked perfectly. They were served in such perfect small sizes too.Potluck club is GREAT! Another must visit spot once you snag a res. We will be back :)

From the cool ambience, fast service, and delicious menu items - Potluck club is definitely worth the hype. I have not tried everything off the menu but if I had to guess... all dishes are probably delicious. We ordered the beef with rice cakes, along with the fried chicken + scallion biscuit which were both stars. The short rib dish was solid but not as memorable as the others. I cannot wait to come back for brunch to try new dishes. So excited to visit this spot again.

We came here for brunch on a Saturday without a reservation. There wasn't table seating but we got to sit at the bar around the kitchen where you can look at the cooks making the food. Decor inside is beautiful. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. They checked up on us, provided recommendations, and made the dining experience pleasant. We tried both the pork belly and chicken sandwiches, the Hong Kong style French toast, and some shrimp fritters. Everything was super yummy!! The toast was a little bit too sweet for my taste. The sauce that the fritters came with was so good. We were dipping the fries in them as well. Speaking of fries, the sandwiches come with a ton of them haha and they're the crispy thin ones too. 10/10 experience and we'll be coming back to try the dinner menu. We've also tried the sister restaurant, Phoenix Palace, for dinner and it's also super delicious!

This place is so amazing. The interior blew me away. Super trendy, giving retro china vibes throughout the restaurant. We came around little earlier around 5:30 and it was pretty empty but filled up as the night went on.We got the endive salad, salt and pepper chicken, pork and chive potstickers and jellyfish salad. I did not know I could love a salad as much as I did this. Super flavorful and well balanced and it had such a satisfying crisp to it. The highlight for me was the potstickers. If you open the biscuit in half, spread the jam and create a sandwich with the chicken you get the perfect bite. The jam was sweet which paired well with the saltiness from the chicken. TIP: there's a secret peep hole by the bathroom on the opposite side of the stalls..fun little Easter egg they put In there

Visited on Saturday for brunch with reservations. We were quickly seated and were able to order fast. We got booth seats which were very cozy. Even their bathrooms were super interested, they're like pods lol. We got one of everything on the brunch menu and almost everything was great. The service was great. The owners/co-owners were very friendly and the service was great. We had 7 people, and the shrimp fritter was 3 per order and they were kind enough to give us 4 in one of them. Super kind and amazing service! My favorite was definitely the karaoke fries. I believe it was curry and gravy fries. Which was really good. The radish cake hash was kind of bland. I kind of expected it to taste like what we would get from radish cake at dimsum. I was also not a huge fan of the eggplant (endive salad). But to each their own. You might like it if you're a huge eggplant fan. But other than that everything else from the bolo bao milk toast to the pork belly cha siu Sandi was delicious! TLDR - great service, amazing karaoke fries, cozy atmosphere.
