Pitkin Seafood

I was looking for a spot that served rice (not Caribbean/Chinese) and came across Pitkin Seafood. The line was long so I knew it was a sign the food was good. This spot is now my go-to. In addition to seafood combos, they offer chicken combos and you can substitute rice with fries or any other side you like.Oh and call ahead to get your order. Like I said, the lines do get long and I do not think they deliver.

Quick lunch spot with good food and good service. Friendly owner. I always call ahead of time soMy food can be ready.

The food is cooked after you order and it's fresh and delicious. Wouldn't think there is a spot in Brownsville that would have good food, seafood at that. Their green tea is good also.

Food is tasty but the neighborhood isn't the greatest. If you call for a pickup bring someone with you. There is no parking.

I love their seafood plates & honey wings! They make my order quickly every time & give me exactly what I ask for. Sometimes this store does get packed with a lot of customers and orders but that's because the food is so good.

I was not a fan of the food here. My boyfriend and I were working in the area and needed to grab lunch. We saw that this place had four stars so we thought we'd be good. We got the shrimp with flounder with bbq sauce with rice and veggies and the crabmeat balls on the side. The veggies weren't fresh and it was just fried fish and shrimp doused in some bbq sauce (not cooked in it). The sauce overpowered the food. And the crabmeat balls were just a bad idea. I should have known that but I was starving and obviously was not thinking straight.

I'm confused...I see this restaurant have a 4 star rating and I'm trying to understand, why?!?! This was my first and last time eating at this restaurant. All I ordered Fish and Chips. You may ask "how'd an order as simple as that turn out to be disastrous?" It turned out to be a disaster because it reminded me of Gordon's Fisherman fish out of the bag, which is ok, realistically, it's a fast paced environment so I get that they may use faster methods of making food to get rid of the crowd. But when you use frozen fish...you shouldn't re-fry the fish! When you re-fry, it's no longer flaky and in this case, it's no longer white on the inside of the fish...it's almost brown. Secondly, I asked them for a condiment cup so That i could put hot sauce in the cup and he told me they didn't have anymore, it was only 12:30 PM and they ran out, meanwhile he just gave me a cup with tartar sauce. I don't like the hot sauce in the pack and he gave me at least ten of them thinking that would help the situation, ok, I didn't say anything about that, I just "attempted" to pay for my food so I could catch a cab home to eat my food. When they swiped my card, their machine wasn't working...at least on their end it wasn't, but on my end it was! It was definitely taken out of my account. I still didn't say nothing, I just showed them my bank account proving that I was charged.Finally, I catch my cab, get home to try this food that I went through such a big hassle for, and it was terrible. When they showed me the food after it was prepared, it appeared to be fresh as it was piping hot when they opened the tray. IT WAS DRY, NOT FLAKY, NOT WHITE, Basically it was re-fried. I attempted to eat the fish and I couldn't take the dryness of the fish. my mom was choking on her fish. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to know that you can not microwave, re-fry, reheat or use any other shortcuts for preparing whiting, as the fish is too thin!!I called the restaurant back and spoke with Joseph and told him my issue and was told to come back with the food, I guess to prove that the fish was dry, flaky and not white. I explained to him that I don't live near by and I just took a cab there and back (because some one referred me, thanks a lot Kim!!) just for the food. So I was told to hold the food until the next time I come up there and show it to them. I told Joseph that I will stop by tomorrow with the proof that the fish was old. At that point, I figured that I'd prove it to my yelp family as well.What I'm upset about is the customer service. They weren't the friendliest in the first place and the food was terrible. All of these businesses are placed in poverty stricken neighborhoods and they serve whatever they feel like serving because no one ever says anything publicly, we normally go up to the business and place our complaints that's normally swept under a rug by adding an additional crab stick our meals!! I'm posting this so that the restaurant won't attempt to do this to another customer.Thanks for reading everyone!

Oh... Em... Gee!!!!!! I am from Georgia, and we have some good chicken and fish down in the south. However, this may be the greatest fish EVER. EVER. EVER. The best food I had when I went on my New York excursion is at this nice little restaurant in a small part of Brooklyn. Love LOVE LOVE the food here~!

they gave me food poisoning i ate from here on friday , december 15th 2023.i got $30 worth of food the salmon & shrimp dinner as well as a 6 piece honey hot with a half & half as well as a lemonade. i dont know if they arent properly cleaning their meat or if the meat is old but i have food poisoning.this is the only meal i ate that day & the next day i feel terrible. do !!! not !!! eat !!! here !!!do not buy food from here !!!!!!food poisoning!!! food poisoning !!!- written december 16th 2023.

This restaurant is disgusting. Their food is old. I ordered basa fish with rice and veggies and the fish was fake basa. It had a foul smell. Went straight in the garbage. I don't know what type of business they are running but this is not a legitimate business.
