Some of the freshest oysters. Schuked fresh to order. Great stop on a Friday night when you come to see the free fireworks on the warm nyc summer nights .

Old school comfort food stand located on the corner across from the Coney Island subway station. This is a spot to get all your fried food and treats in one spot. Fried clams, funnel cake, fried shrimp, grilled meat on a stick, soda, beer, corn dogs, hot dogs, pizza, corn on the cob, knishes, wings, French fries, etc. Small room with some tables to sit at if the normal area weirdos haven't commanded them. Some picnic tables on the outside with umbrellas.Cheap overall and they take credit cards. You don't come here to eat healthy!

After spending the morning at the Blessing of the Rides at Deno's Wonder Wheel Amusement Park, I was hungry, and being in Coney Island, I wanted seafood, Oysters on the half shell, specifically. I've clams at Pete's before and they were always fresh and expertly shucked. Their oysters were even better. The woman shucking them not only knew what she was doing, but threw away at least four oysters that didn't meet her standards. The six she served up for me were stunning. They were huge, meaty, absolutely fresh and perfectly shucked. I didn't even need to loosen anything up, they were ready for slurping. Absolute perfection and absolutely worth the $14!

Set up shop near Pete's for the Mermaid Parade this year and went back there repeatedly for snacks. They were absolutely on their A game--everything was delicious! The clam strips were tasty, the pork shish kabob was perfectly tender and seasoned, the fried shrimp was nice and fresh (the batter was nice and light so you could really taste the shrimp), and the potato knish with onions was perfectly crispy on the outside, tender on the inside. Not a place to miss out on if you're headed for Coney!

Honestly, i was kinda let down by petes. i have passed by this place many of times, but finally grew some strength to stop by on 4th of july.fried clams were over priced and not much clam meat. the fried calamari was barely to little cooked. very rubbery. i too felt it was over priced. beer was good--great prices and sizes. i loved being able to sit at the bar and enjoy the crowd and the food came out quick.

I've been stopping in here when in Coney Island since 1991. Man. I'm getting old.Still the freshest, most briny and cheapest clams on the half shell in the area. Coupled with an ice cold Stella on tap and you are in Coney Island Heaven.
