I have visited this restaurant on several occasions with my colleagues, and I must say, the service and cuisine are great. However, what truly stands out is their watermelon salad. It's absolutely delicious and I would highly recommend giving it a try if you ever have the chance

Rating: 3.5 StarsI came on a work lunch with my team around 12:30 PM on a Thursday afternoon. The space was quite busy but was well decorated and had a great ambiance. Since we were a large group of over 10 people, we were seated at a large table in an alcove to the side of the restaurant. The space itself was great and provided a nice area that we could chat amongst ourselves. The last time I was here, the bathroom floors were really gross but this time, the bathrooms were nice and clean. The bathroom is very small though so make sure you open the doors slowly so you don't hit anyone that may be washing their hands behind it. Service was wonderful as well. It seemed as though our water cups never went below half full and they were always there to help. While service and space was nice, the food was a toss up. We had a few appetizers to share and got our own mains and desserts: PERA DIP TRIO: The dips were wonderful and the pita chips they came with tasted like Stacy's haha but they worked well. GRILLED ARTICHOKE: Love their grilled artichoke. Flavor is well done and the artichoke is very soft. PORTUGESE FRIED CALAMARI: The calamari is well fried but I wish they had better seasoning, it is a bit bland. Also the portions itself were so tiny especially for something that is over 20 dollars. PERA'S SIGNATURE FRESH LAMB "ADANA": The plating of this item was a bit questionable. The flavors of the roasted veggies and lavash it came with were great. The lamb itself was ok. The spices were nice, I just wish it would be charred more. It is a good amount of food though. DARK CHOCOLATE SOUFFLE: The soufflé smelled heavenly when it first arrived at the table but unfortunately the taste was a bit bland. I don't like desserts to be too sweet but some sweetness would be great. It did come with a spoonful of pistachio ice cream which added some additional flavor but would have been good to have more of the taste come from the soufflé itself. All in all, while the restaurant worked well together, the food just was not very memorable.

A little bit underwhelming I would say. I was here for a corporate event so it was not a proper sit down dinner. However, everything served was just meh. Arguably all of the meat served was on the dry side. Nothing I had really stood out to compel me to come back to have a proper dinner.

This spot serves up Mediterranean cuisine in a beautiful setting, tucked into the heart of Midtown -- the ambiance is really nice, with an entire wall decorated with wine bottles. There were some groups celebrating birthdays and other occasions, and I really liked the ambiance -- it was a bit drafty where we were sitting (near the door), but otherwise nice. The waiter was really patient and attentive, which we appreciated. I got the Pan Seared Salmon with Risotto -- the salmon had a nice sear on it but felt just a smidge overcooked for my taste. The risotto was my unexpected hit of the night, with a butternut squash flavor. The marg was good but IMO not super memorable. Overall, good food in a nice ambiance -- definitely a cozy spot, would come back to try more of the apps!

Pera Mediterranean is your spot if you're looking for authentic Eastern Mediterranean cuisine. My visit was perfect. The Dining room is nicely decorated. I made a reservation in the small room in the back of the restaurant. 4 tables in the room. It was perfect for conducting my business lunch. Not too loud. My server was great. He Came around often to check on my table and refill drinks. I started with the HUMMUS and Portuguese Fried Calamari. The hummus was a great. Fresh made! Delicious! Served with chips. The calamari was a winner Excellent flavor! A must try!Prepared w/ beef soujouk, sliced cherry peppers, smoked paprika yoghurt aioli, & scallions. Delicious! For my main dish I had the SIRLOIN "SHASHLIK" STEAK FRITES. Perfect!delicious-steak so tender you could cut it with your fork. That tender. Great flavor! A must try choice. 48-hr marinated thin-sliced sirloin, grilled "shashlik"style with peppers and onion, served with Mediterranean fries. Some of the best fries I have eaten, and I love fries. Great ones. You can't go wrong at PERA. I Highly recommend this unique dining spot.

**TL;DR:**- Cozy vibe, a little touristy at first- Awesome food, but slow and OK service- Great for a special night, but a bit pricey- 4 stars because of the food, not the service I went here on a double date during restaurant week, and it was a pretty cool experience. The place looked a bit touristy at first, but the open kitchen and comfy seats made it feel nicer. Service was alright, though it took a while for them to take our order and bring the bill. The food was amazing. We started with calamari, which was tasty but could've used more sauce. For mains, I had the lamb adobo--really flavorful and gamey--and my friend had the chicken, which was great too. It was $60, including a drink, which felt a bit expensive, but the quality made it worth it. The baklava dessert was a standout--sweet but not too much.Overall, we left happy but not stuffed. A good spot for a special night out!

Great spot for dinner in midtown. We came here during restaurant week and had a great time here. We ordered the Portuguese fried calamari, pan seared salmon, and the chicken Adana. The food was delicious but portions were a bit small. Service was good, they came to check on us periodically and the manager came by to say hi (which was nice). The decor and ambiance was nicely done. Would definitely come back and try the other items.
