I was supposed to come here on a date years ago, and for some reason, I never came to try out this place. Well, I surprisingly decided to give it a whirl, solo. I came here just for a drink. Now, I do not actually drink, but for the first time, I decided to change things up a bit, and see if I could at least find an alcoholic drink that could be a staple for me. I found a glass of white wine that I absolutely love and will from now on be my go-to, thanks to the host here - the Château Suduiraut. I was seated in the mock bar area facing the skyline. As I had arrived in the evening, the sun had already set, but my drink, coupled by my views, were spectacular. I will definitely come back here. Also, note, this is a very popular place, and if you intend on dining, you will need to book at least 1 month in advance. Still, it's worth it for this 3 Michelin Star restaurant!

I experienced flavors that were new and profound. Honestly, spectacular all around from atmosphere, food, and service. The last few fine dining restaurants I went to were underwhelming and I almost didn't want to go here because of poor recent experiences where price did not meet value. This was not the case with Per Se, it was worth every penny. The venue is located on the 4th floor and most seatings had an excellent view of Columbus square, which happened to snow during our dining experience giving us a beautiful albeit cloudy. Love the high ceilings , plants throughout, with a modern touch. The service was as you would expect from Michelin restaurants executed to perfection through the entire dining experience. But let's get to the food, it is seasonal so you may not experience the same dishes I had but ALL dishes was excellent. I'd like to call out a few, the foie gras had a little sweetness and perfect texture, it was heaven for each bite. I had to slow myself down to savor the moment, a flavor I've never experienced. The oysters and pearl was indescribable, it was the perfect creamy concoction. And then the fine lamb, wow cooled to perfection, absolutely nothing you can change. Each bite was heaven. And finally the desert..I mean desserts was like a fireworks show to end your night. At the end I felt perfectly content, not too full and not starving. They even gave us a nice goodie bag to go for my birthday, which allowed me to enjoy more desserts at home :). I implore you to visit this place. Trust me, it's worth it.

I celebrated my 60th Birthday here with my husband and my best friends. It's taken me awhile to write this review because the experience was so much more than just an incredible, over-the-top, meal. From the moment we arrived, every detail of our experience was outstanding and unique - from the beautiful wine glasses to the explosion of flavors and artistry of each serving. Of all the Michelin starred restaurants my husband and I have experienced (12 or so), Per Se has surpassed them all. The 9-course tasting menu includes extra surprises from the kitchen - the dessert is actually like 3 desserts, so it's more like a 12 course menu! One of my friends wasn't comfortable eating caviar (I was too polite to ask if I could eat it for her! Haha) so the chef replaced her course with a different option. Our reservation was later in the evening so we were one of the last diners in the restaurant. Our server invited us to tour the kitchen where we got to see the live, 2-way screen where we could see the kitchen of their sister restaurant, the world famous, French Laundry! There is a wall covered with photos and framed awards. We were each gifted with a tin of shortbread cookies (insanely good!). It was the highlight of my 60th birthday!!

My wife and I dined at Per Se on December 4 to celebrate our 25th wedding anniversary. If you're looking for an unforgettable culinary experience, this restaurant is at the #1 spot on our dining experiences. We enjoyed a lovely view of Columbus Circle from our table. The main dining area has two levels, and while I'm not sure if you can request a specific spot when making a reservation, sitting on the lower level by the glass would likely offer the best view. We were seated on the lower level but not directly at the window, and the view was still fantastic. The Columbus statue was a prominent feature, and we could also see the building lights on the east side of the park.In the main dining room, you can choose between two tastings: the Classic (9 courses) and the Evolution (14 courses). There's also a separate 5-course option in another part of the restaurant. We opted for the Evolution tasting and the mid-tier wine pairing which unfolded over three indulgent hours. Initially, we felt a bit hesitant about our 5:30 PM reservation, but after some reassuring chats with the staff, we realized early dining is actually a smart move for this 3 hour dining experience! A big shoutout to John Jansma, the Head Sommelier, whose expertise truly elevated our dining experience. He kept us perfectly hydrated with an impeccable selection of wine pairings that complemented each course beautifully! The food? Absolutely phenomenal. Rich, savory, sweet flavors paired with jaw-dropping presentation created memories we'll cherish. The amuse-bouche was a playful start--imagine an elegant bite-sized ice cream cone! The Hen Egg custard, served in a perfectly cut shell, was as impressive to look at as it was to eat. Standout dishes for us included the Langoustine and Truffled Risotto, as well as the Wagyu beef. Honestly hard to say what was the best course. We loved it all!Yes, Per Se is pricey, but it's so much more than just a meal. It's a life moment experience. If you're celebrating something special or just want to treat yourself, don't hesitate. You'll leave with a full memory, satiated belly, and a strong desire to come back again!Note Bene: 1) Reservations can be made using Tock (as of 01.05.2024). The booking window is ~1 month in advance with a deposit required at the time of booking.2) This is located at Deutsche Bank Center on Columbus circle on the 4th Floor. We ended up going up escalators, but I bet there is a more direct way to get there.

This is a really solid tasting menu, all of the dishes were very tasty. However, it felt none of the dishes were super innovative nor blew my mind especially for the hefty price tag of $390, but they were executed well and delicious. The foie gras supplement was my favorite dish of the evening. This is probably the best foie gras I've ever had in my life. The pate was super buttery and savory and creamy. It was wrapped with some beets to give a subtle sweetness, a perfect complement to the foie gras. Applied to the brioche bread they gave with the dish, it was a heavenly bite.Their iconic dish, the oysters and pearls, was well deserved to be their signature. It is rich and creamy; the chives provide a nice balance; and the caviar is salty and briny and full of umami. The tapioca also provides an interesting texture, a well-designed dish. The scallop in caramelized onion butter sauce was also delicious. Caramelized onions are one of my favorites, so a sauce with rich caramelized onions is perfect. The chicken dish was also super interesting. The chicken did not feel like chicken, it had the texture of fish / seafood, I was quite impressed with how they achieved this.My biggest concern with this place is how worth-it it is. I am very hesitant about places that serve root vegetables as-is with no innovative preparation or flavors elevating the dish. A lot of the flavors were really good but also pretty standard (maybe even a bit underwhelming) for what I expected of a restaurant of this calibre. And they have a bunch of supplements of wagyu and premium caviar for $135 and $60 extra, which although they looked delicious, is insane given the expensive base price you're already paying. The service was very attentive, they even gave us extra bread and replacement bread when we mentioned one tasted a bit burnt. The views of the restaurant in Columbus circle overlooking Central Park were stellar, really made the dining location feel special. It was overall a really good fine dining experience!

Per Se is worth a special journey, whether you're traveling from out of state or even if you're traveling from another country. Rated as one of the best restaurants in the world and the recipient of three Michelin stars, you can rest assured that you are going to have the experience of a lifetime. The restaurant itself is absolutely gorgeous inside and if you're lucky enough to sit near a window you will have breath taking views of Central Park. The interior is clean, sleek and modern. Lighting is kept to a minimum to create the perfect intimate feeling. The service is PERFECT, the staff is reflective of all the accolades that they have received. Knowledgeable, nice and smooth are only some of the words that describe the staff and the service they provide you throughout your dining experience. The true star of the experience is the food. You can't receive three Michelin stars and be rated as one of the best restaurants in the world unless your food is perfect. Out of all the dishes the oysters and pearls is the main even. Served 2nd or 3rd during the tasting menu, it is a staple of the menu at Per Se. Reservations are hard to come by, and it's not cheap but it's worth it. Please go and enjoy, and if you're lucky enough you will get a tour of the kitchen.

Disclaimer:Am I biased because I dropped a ton of money here? Probably. Am I still going to try to be objective? Of course.Taste: 9.75/10Everything I ate was incredible. Some dishes were downright spectacular. There was one item (the steak I subbed out for) that left me wanting a bit more, but overall, most of the food was top-notch. Hopefully, my glowing review isn't just because I hyped myself up beforehand. Some of these dishes were the best I've ever had. The dessert? Not just a meal--it was an experience. Look at the final dessert picture--it's like a miniature feast of sweets. Overall, this was a near-perfect showing on the taste front.Service: 10/10Exactly what you'd expect at this level: flawless. They treat you like royalty, which is way outside my comfort zone but appreciated nonetheless. New plates and silverware with every course, a guy brushing crumbs off the table with what looked like a mini hairbrush for the table, and detailed ingredient explanations that could've been straight out of a documentary. Honestly, half the time, I had no clue what they were talking about, but it sounded impressive.Oh, and the goodie bag at the end? Classy touch. Easy 10/10.Ambiance: 8/10Everyone's in suits, looking sharp, with a decent view of the city. It's not the most jaw-dropping view, but the vibe is upscale enough that I felt transported out of my daily life into somewhere fancy. That counts for something. Ambiance is solid overall, but nothing groundbreaking. 8/10.

What to say that hasn't already been said? The service is always above and beyond and the food ... my god, the food. Here is a place where you can get some of the French Laundry classics like the oysters and pearls alongside innovative new things like a reconstructed dirty martini with beet. (Yes, beet!) I've been here for both the full course tasting (it almost killed me -- in the best way) and the lounge courses, and they treat you like a queen either way. The view of Columbus circle and Manhattan also cannot be missed. A beautiful dining experience, and I try to always return here at least once when I am in New York. Also should note, this place is exceptional to solo diners. In a world when some places of this caliber now won't even take reservations for one, the folks at Per Se will treat you extra special when you're alone, which is lovely. A true five star experience and highly deserving of all three of its Michelin stars!

A three star experience and service, without being too stuffy. The menu was like if you took Alinea, removed the gastronomy, and injected French. The oysters in pearls were the star for me. They were rich, creamy, and texturally interesting (but not on an off putting way). Every dish really "flowed" and everything was perfectly timed. The wine pairing was incredibly generous. I had to share some glasses with my table so I could remember the meal by the end of the night. The meal as a whole was much more filling than other pre fixe 3 stars (which I consider a positive). We aren't really squab fans, but we gave it a try, and they offered to substitute the dish when we all agreed we wouldn't eat it. But we declined because we were already filling up quickly. They offered reasonable accommodations to the menu to ensure everyone had the best experience possible. But above all, the service was stellar. Every member of the team was attentive, personable, knowledgeable, and very passionate about the place.

Per Se has an exceptional reputation to live up to. With sister restaurants like TFL, they have an even broader expectation of excellence to live up to. A you imagine the daily pressure to be the best in the world!?I can happily report that Per Se exceeded every single lofty expectation I had for them. Service, food, wine pairings, views, everything!A special note to say that the service manager, Alex was particularly amazing. I have never met a more professional and knowledgeable manager in any industry. We will be back every time we are in town.
