We came here during restaurant week and it was so good. It was a fixed price menu with an appetizer entrée and a drink and it was so awesome. We came in while it was not so busy, but the servers were so so friendly telling us about the history of the restaurant and where the food is imported from. The inside was so gorgeous it felt very homey in Italian. Overall, we had a great experience here. We stayed here for hours and they didn't kick us out which was really nice.

Let's start with loving the ambiance in the main diningroom. We didn't see the other space so I can't comment. The dishes were delicious including one pasta meal that was gluten free. The sauce was fresh and delicious as if if the tomatoes had been picked and cooked that day. Service, too, was excellent. We had a wonderful time!We had to climb steps to enter. I don't know if there's accessible entry

Made a last minute brunch reservation at Pepolino on a late Sunday afternoon. I have passed by this restaurant many times but today was my first time in. The first floor is cute, cozy, and intimate. We sat at a table near the window. The complimentary bread, while delicious paired with the tomato paste, was a bit on the salty side. They would do well to keep it warmed instead of cold/room temperature. We ordered the octopus appetizer which was tender and delicious. It came on a potato puree and toasted bread and 2 slices of tomato. The combination was very interesting. It was actually very good. We ordered the black ink seafood linguine and the wild boar ragout pappardelle. The pastas were al dente and the sauces were very thick and rich. I thought the ragout was just okay. The linguine was good but not amazing. Overall, we had an enjoyable time. I would not order the ragout again. I will definitely come back and try some other dishes though. The restaurant and staff were charming itself.

Came here with my team for a team dinner. It feels really intimate and dimly lit inside. Good: - Tasty free bread- Burrata was very good, good ratio of cheese to tomato - Eggplant parm was so good - it was thinly sliced and easy to eat - The ragu was tasty - the pasta noodles had a lot of texture and good flavor- Portions are good, super full - Service was good - nice waiters Bad: - Nothing too crazy in terms of blowing my mind Overall this place was nice for getting my team created!

Pepolino is a conveniently located, beautifully adorned Italian restaurant serving delicious food. It was nice to be able to make a reservation for a group of five, which is nearly impossible now I feel in NYC without endlessly refreshing Resy. The cocktails were on the more expensive side at 20+. We got wine. There was complimentary bread with a delicious fresh tomato paste/dip. We shared the endive salad and the croquettes. We each got our own pastas. I liked my wild boar pappardelle. I also got to try my friend's mushroom tagliatelle and the squid ink pastas. Both were great options too!I would definitely come back if I wanted simple good Italian food!

This is such a cute spot for Italian food! I really enjoyed the leek pasta, it's something I'd come back for. My friend had the mushroom pasta which was also really good. The one with just tomato sauce was ok but nothing spectacular. It's expensive but so is all the Italian food in the city.

Enjoyed a really pleasant dinner with wife, son and his buddy. I'm retired chef so I really appreciate the simplicity of a minimal ingredient meal executed well with a service team that's attentive & aware and yet, invisible! Pepolino provides this experience perfectly. The space itself is rustic & romantically lit with several ceiling sound dampeners which were very appreciated. We shared an endive salad with pear & toasted walnuts that was delicious. I ordered exactly what I wanted...a well executed homemade pasta dish...Pappardelle Al Pepolino ("Pepolino" Tomato Sauce & Fresh Thyme). Simply an excellent plate of pasta. My wife had the spinach & ricotta ravioli that was light & lovely, my son's friend ordered the gnocchi (which is usually a disappointment everywhere in my experience) but was excellent! It's really simple to overthink...but Pepolino makes excellence a simple expectation. I strongly advise a visit...but you'll owe ME if you heed my counsel!

We almost left Pepolino within the first 15 min of being seated, as we were placed next to a large table where two snooty, wealthy, WASPy Karens were gabbing and ignoring their misbehaving daughters who were wreaking havoc in the general vicinity and disturbing everyone nearby (esp. us). Ugh. Talk about a living birth control ad.We eventually got the staff to move us to another area, and things were immediately better from there. But I felt bad for the couple that got seated at our old table. Pepolino staff: If parents won't reign in their bratty children, you need to do something. I promise the backlash from one or two parents will be balanced out by the many more diners who will appreciate you for taking action.Anyway, the food. The Zuppa Di Porri & Patate is scrum-diddly-umptious and perfect for cold winter nights. But the Cozze Al Burro was the best dish by far. The garlicky parsley sauce was everything your Mediterranean-loving heart could want, and the fact that they de-shell their mussels is just cherry for lazy diners like me. Pasta-wise, the Tagliatelle Ai Funghi Porcini was one of the more flavorful mushroom pastas I've had, while the Fettuccine Al Coniglio provided much-needed rabbit heartiness. The portions were pretty substantial too.We skipped drinks and dessert, but overall, I wouldn't rule out a comeback. I might bring my own privacy screens though, to block out wayward children.
