Panorama Room is a swanky place to take a date or to stop by when exploring Roosevelt Island. The location is conveniently pretty much right next to the tram, making it even easier to catch a sunset or see the views. As many have described, the service at this bar isn't always the best and the servers were not super attentive, but they were well-informed about the menu and made good recommendations for my dietary restrictions. One thing to note is they're very strict about their 1.5 hour table reservation time. Our cocktails were good, though definitely steeply priced. I was actually most impressed with the trout dip - the chips were light and crispy, and the dip was packed with flavor and generously portioned.

Views are crazy amazing! We visited in Feb 2022.I realized this is back dates but wanted to share the pictures we took of the surrounding views.Drinks were creative and acceptable. We came here more the views. We did have some small bites and the service staff were nice.Tips: take the tram to get the full experience.Make a reservation as this place might be crazy now that it's holiday season.

This rooftop on Roosevelt Island has been on my list, so I was happy to visit for my friend's birthday celebration. We went in with no reservations on a Thursday evening and were able to grab lovely, plush seats indoors near the bar, by the window which boasted amazing views of the Manhattan skyline. There was an outdoor area, where you could take in more of the skyline over the water. From where we were situated, we were not able to watch the sunset, but still enjoyed the view. Food options were limited and expensive, so I shared Truffle Parmesan Waffle Fries with a friend. This cost a whopping $22! The fries were delightfully crispy with plenty of grated Parmesan all over, but was very light on the truffle taste. I was also able to try the Korean Fried Skewers ($24), Broccoli Tempura ($16), Tomato Salad ($17), and Summer Farm Stand ($18). The Korean Fried Skewers were breaded chicken in Gochujang sauce, topped with roasted sesame. This was nice and crunchy, boldly flavorful, with a kick to it. The Broccoli Tempura was perfectly cooked and well seasoned. Tomato salad consisted of Heirloom Cherry Tomatoes, Ricotta, Pickled Shallots, along with Basil. This was wonderfully fresh and juicy! Summer Farm Stand was just a bunch of seasonal vegetables with savory green sauce. Service was sort of lackluster and we had to keep going to the bar to request items that should have been provided like plates, utensils, sauces, etc. Prices were very high, but that is to be expected at any rooftop. Even though I had a fun time with friends, I wouldn't rush back.

The bartender was super nice and attentive, would go back just for this! But there were a few issues - we made a reservation and the people working in the first floor were giving us a hard time, they accused us of bringing extra people in (we did not, our reservation was for 13 people and we were in fact 13 people). Right before we left, a security guard was walking around with a terrible attitude! He needed one of the chairs we were sitting in, and instead of simply asking he started accusing us of stealing it from another table! We just told him to take it, it was totally OK to take the chair if he needed it, but he was everything but nice about it. Overall it was a decent time - bartenders are amazing, views are great. Security and the team at the door sucked.

Cute spot but unfortunately grossly overpriced. I think it has everything to do with it being one of the handful of bars on the island and to my knowledge the only rooftop bar there. Still, I can't quite justify a $27 basic whiskey drink especially when rooftop bars to the likes of this in Manhattan run cheaper. I didn't order any food because $22 for fries is absurd. My cousin ordered the caviar nachos ($28) which was essentially plantain chips drizzled in sour cream and topped with colored caviar and a quail egg. She was highly disappointed. Disappointing food and overpriced drinks aside, I was pleasantly surprised with the music selection. A DJ started around 7 and had a steady flow of hits playing. I wanted to stay after he started and actually ordered another drink after we'd closed out to enjoy the music. The crowd and vibe definitely picks up towards the later part of the evening and the patio was getting crowded as we were leaving.Overall, I doubt I'll return but if I do, I'd stick to the classic cocktails--those are more fairly priced. And I'd spend more time on the patio taking in the skyline.

Incredible views! A must see if you come to Roosevelt island. The inside decor is also beautiful. Food is expensive for the small portions but tasty. Service was capable but could have been more friendly.

Great bar spot in Roosevelt Island, located at the top of a hotel. Cocktails and drinks are unfortunately Manhattan prices, but the views of the city are lovely and it's a great ambience. There's both indoor and some limited outdoor seating (though plenty of spaces to stand). In terms of food, it's more of a shared small-bites menu, which definitely aired on the pricey side. My boyfriend and I visited on a Saturday afternoon at 2 pm, and weren't in the mood to drink, so ordered two mocktails and sat on the roof. These mocktails were seriously delicious (Golden Child and Lighthouse Keeper), and full of really complex flavors. Our favorite was Lighthouse Keeper. We were able to walk in without a reservation and found seating pretty easily. My one complaint is that their speaker system was a bit broken and the music choice / sound quality was underserving. It was occasionally blare out really weirdly, so I hope this is something that can be fixed for the future! It was also weirdly tricky to get to the Panorama Room, and you need a security guard to check your ID before they FOB you up the elevator. However, the FOB didn't work a couple of times / the security guard didn't FOB after we showed IDs, so we spent a good amount of time in the elevators just trying to get up!

OVERALL: Spectacular views!! Worth going at night. DRINKS: great selection of cocktails and mocktails. Cocktails start at $20 fyi. SERVICE: we were greeted for our reservation despite an issue we had earlier in the night with the bar cancelling our reservation last minute. We had standing room service VENUE: plays fun music, people tend to go for the view of the NYC skyline and bridge. Truly stunning

Probably the best view in all of NYC! The place is very opulent and has a stunning view. It has a wonderful view of Midtown Manhattan, Greenpoint and the water. I absolutely loved my crushed ice Piña Colada and the cheesy truffle fries! I'm giving this place a 4 star because the seating inside was not very comfortable. I would definitely recommend going after dark because the place faces West and you have sun in your eyes until sunset. If I were to return, I would book standing room outside on the patio only. Definitely recommend but comfier and larger seating would make this a 5 star place.

Came back and got the road trippin which is basically just a lychee martini (10/10) and just a standard cosmo which was a little too grapefruit forward for my liking
