This used to be by far my favorite Mexican food place in the neighborhood but things have declined quite a bit over the last few months. The restaurant itself hasn't been open in a few weeks, I heard that it may be an electric problem. So you can't dine in or pickup orders, they are delivery only currently, which is a bit of an ambiance killer. Beyond that, there have been some tragic updates to the menu. The enchiladas suizas used to be unparalleled and I ordered them today and they're very subpar and incredibly over-salted - the salsa verde has completely changed in a negative way. Most of the birria items have been removed from the GrubHub/online menu (I used to order the birria quesadilla and the birria burrito frequently, now there are only birria taquitos available). There is no longer chipotle chicken available as an option for burritos/bowls ordered online which was by far my favorite. Whenever I order the burrito bowl online something is missing (usually sour cream or avocado salsa) or amiss (one time there was a rock in my beans). I hope they rebound soon, up until the last few months Panchita's was a solid 5 stars from me!

The place is very cute and the service was good. The food was just ok. The ribeye chicharron had a really nice crust but dry inside and the guacamole was a bit bland. The birria tacos were very good. The corn tortillas were outstanding.

God was excellently cooked and flavorful. Service was attentive and prompt. Very nice decor for a date. The Guajillo steak torta was served on soft bread with tender pieces of steak cooked to the right doneness and flavored with a delicious sauce-- a very excellent dish. The Cameron's ala Diablo was spiced very well with large pieces of shrimp cooked very well. For drinks. 5$3 spicy hibiscus margarita was verily spicy with chili seeds sprinkled and good balance of flavors-- no ingredient too overpowering and not watered down. The tamarind margarita was also mixed very well. We were immediately sat down on a Friday night. Waiter made great drink suggestions and checked in on us often enough. If you're in the neighborhood, definitely give this restaurant a try. I'd return!

Came for a late lunch on a nice Sunday afternoon, we were seated right away. The space is very dim, has a decent amount of seating. We started with chips and guac and esquites. They give a very generous amount of guac, asked for it to be mildly spicy and it was a good kick, it also came with some salsa. I got Al pastor tacos as my entree as well as an order of tamales from their brunch menu. Tacos come with two per order. The Al pastor was very juicy, tacos were decent in size. Very solid Al pastor tacos. Tamales were cheese and jalapeño, they were on the dryer side, but they were dressed up with some crema and cheese. Our meal was solid, food was decently priced and service was good. Panchitas is worth trying if you're around and want some Mexican brunch.

Space is nice , cozy and well decorated. Service could have been better , server never brought out side sauces and my burrito was pretty dry and flavorless. The food was very fresh though and not greasy. The guacamole was fresh and made to our requests. Was it something special no. But it was good , light , and satisfying.

This place is ensconced in Park Slope on 5th Avenue. The low lighting and the musical playlist sets you up for sinking into your seat and getting comfortable. There are about 10 - 12 big tables for seating four to six people so bring your friends. I am here on Christmas Eve and the staff is pleasant and welcoming, informative and generous. So the food: Big portion sizes of authentic Mexican food. I would know because my husband is from Mexico City and he is very discerning. We had fish tacos, ceviche tacos, a steak torta, pozole and assorted small dishes. I had a medium steak torta sandwich. The steak was perfect and large portion portion of steak dipped in guajillo sauce (not spicy for my gringo palette) with avocado. The drinks were really good. After my husband sat at the bar and talked to the bartender about bourbon and tequila and had a great time sampling different drinks. We were in a great atmosphere, with the food presentation, quality ingredients, awesome service and interactions, plus large portions that encourages families to come. But also, they weren't trying to push us out. My pics are yucky but I will do a better job next time.

The food here does taste good, the first time we came here there were no problems. Unfortunately our second time is what prompted this review. I don't know if it makes a difference this time was a takeout order. We had multiple problems.1. If you go to the Panchitas Place online website, the ranchero breakfast bowl has a price of 12.99 with a free option for grilled steak. We called in an order for 2 of plus a side of tator tots. When I got there, the actual price was $14 plus $4 steak addon each bowl. I suppose this is partly on me for not asking what the total was on the phone, but come on.2. Upon inspection of one of the bowls, the eggs which were supposed to be sunny side up, were only half cooked, 1 side white with crispy edges, the other with the yolk broken and completely raw with a lot of clear egg white. And eggs are really hard to mess up. Ok fine I proceeded to just microwave as a quick fix.3. This is the most egregious part of the story. Around 8-12 hours later, my gf and I had some pretty upset stomachs all night and still into the next day from when I am currently writing this. We did not share our bowls (so contamination from item 2 very unlikely), or eat out anywhere else, the only common denominator was our takeout meal.TLDR: Would not recommend unless you enjoy hanging out in a bathroom all day.
