Osteria La Baia is a quaint and charming spot that truly impresses with its amazing service and delightful atmosphere. We tried the lunch prix fixe menu, and it didn't disappoint--especially considering how great the price is for the quality and portions. We started with the burrata and the Caesar salad, both of which were exceptional. The burrata was creamy and fresh, while the Caesar salad had just the right balance of flavors and a perfectly crisp texture. For our secondi, we had the branzino fillet, which was cooked to perfection. The fish was tender, and the lemony sauce was light yet packed with flavor--simply impeccable. The pappardelle alla bolognese was another highlight, with pasta that tasted homemade and a rich, beautifully cooked sauce that brought everything together. The ambiance is chic, with stylish décor that adds to the overall experience. The portions were generous, making the meal feel like a great value. This spot is definitely worth visiting if you're looking for a cozy yet upscale dining experience.

This restaurant is perfect for a romantic date night or a fun girls' night out. The ambiance is elegant and inviting, with a beautifully designed interior that includes a stunning marble-top communal table--an absolute showstopper. Here's what we ordered and loved:Beef Tartare - A well-seasoned and satisfying dish. Simple yet flavorful.Insalata La Baia - A refreshing, perfectly balanced starter that sets the tone for the meal.Tagliolini - Simply incredible! Adding truffles is a must, though the portion of truffles could have been a bit more generous.Profiteroli al Cioccolato - An absolute must-try dessert. Save room for this decadent treat--you won't regret it!The cocktails were on point, and the service was exceptional--our servers were attentive without being intrusive.Highly recommend this spot, and I'd happily visit again!

For me it was just ok. However, the group I was with really enjoyed their meal. The Cesar salad was not your typical with just romaine (it had Bibb or Boston lettuce) which made it very difficult to eat without having to keep cutting it.The meatballs were pretty good. The lobster fettuccine was ok. Not my favorite midtown Italian but willing to give it another try.

Great meal here with work colleagues after a long day at a conference! Great ambiance with cool lighting fixtures and plants. We sat at a large center table with a granite countertop. Surrounded by white tablecloth covered tables. Place was busy and bustling! Looks like it's a popular place here.We ordered a few appetizers to share - eggplant parmigiana, tuna tartare, beef tartare, calamari, and the octopus - were enjoyed by all. For entrees I got the salmon which was good came with mashed potatoes and veggies. Others ordered the branzino, squid pasta, chicken parmigiana. For dessert we ordered the profiterolle- basically it's like a cream puff with ice cream and berries topped with chocolate sauce at the table! I think that was the star of the meal for me!Overall a great meal with efficient and attentive service.

Good. Not great. The Calamari - Fritto Misto breading all came off. The cacio e pepe was a bit clumpy. The staff was nice and informative. The food could have been better.

Popped in for a last minute birthday dinner while visiting NYC. Everyone was extremely friendly and helped me celebrate my birthday with lovely libations! I enjoyed the Caesar salad and ribeye steak. My friend got the salmon and she enjoyed it. It's a beautiful restaurant but a bit pricy. If in the area with a visit !

Cozy place. They sat us in the back by a fake tree lol but there was a good view of the restaurant. Lively and sophisticated. Our server was very busy but you can tell, experienced. Delicious tequila cocktail, brussel sprouts (with pomegranate seeds!), yellowtail tartare, truffle Cacio e Pepe and scallops. Lovely Christmas dinner in the city.

This was such a disappointment. We may have visited on an off night but there were multiple issues we faced. I chose this place because hubs wanted Italian, it was super close to our hotel, and it was rated 5 stars on Yelp. The first impression was great. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door by a very friendly hostess. The table she sat us at was perfect. Originally, we were planning on ordering a bottle of wine, even though the wines were insanely overpriced. I am not sure what made me change my mind but I suggested I order a glass of wine and hubs order beer, to which he agreed. I am glad I decided on that. I also ordered sparkling water, to which I was charged for. Very rarely have I been offered sparkling and charged for it. Fine.I ordered the Rigatoni with Vodka sauce and Caesar salad. Hubs ordered the lasagna. The salad arrives and it has butter or Bibb lettuce!!! I have never seen this! I asked for an extra side of dressing, to which there was no dressing at all on the salad so the side of dressing was the only dressing. We must have waited a good 25 minutes until our entrees arrived. My pasta was absolutely awful. It was barely al dente and really had no flavor. I think the lasagna did not taste gourmet; more like a local pizza place style. The portions also were not big. We finished everything on our plates. Not once did any staff stop by our table and check on us after dropping off the entrees. All the negative factors just kept piling on and then I notice a server pouring beer from a bottle into a glass at a table nearby. So my husband's beer was brought to the table already in the glass and we assumed it was draft. Once we witnessed our neighboring table being served like that, we noticed there were no taps. Luckily I had an app where I can pay the tab and save money so that is what I did so I didn't have to wait another 20 minutes to pay. My sugar was dropping so I grabbed the remainder of sparkling water and left after paying in the app. Our bill was $150 and even though prices are increasing everywhere, I was expecting our bill to be around $100. 2 beers, 1 glass of wine, sparkling water, a salad, and 2 pasta entrees. The ambiance was my favorite aspect of this place.

Positive: the food is definitely great, the gnocchi has a light texture, and the pasta had a fantastic rich sauce. Tiramisu did not disappoint, though definitely large and better sharing. Halfway through, our waiter was Jared , who was extremely kind and attentive. Absolute sweetheart and definitely recuperated the night from a slightly rocky start.Negative: the floor manager (Julio? Not sure, he never actually introduced himself by name). From the jump, borderline rude and completely uninterested in providing customer service. It felt like we were disturbing him, which continued through every interaction, where he would look down at his handheld computer rather than us. We ordered wine, which he brought to the table in a carafe and did not confirm which wines they were, which would have ensured that he actually brought the ones we ordered. So far, nothing major but certainly not positive.Only once we were almost done our dishes did he even come to our table to ensure everything is ok. If you're a diner or low end bistro, I wouldn't expect to have a super attentive dining experience; but at this caliber of restaurant, absolutely. My message to the upper management would be if you have complaints about this manager, I'd start paying attention to them. As someone who worked as a waitress at high end establishments for almost a decade, this is someone who will cost you your good staff.

It was my first time dining at La Baia tonight and I was blown away by the service and the quality of the food. The service was excellent and our Server Blerta was very knowledgeable about the menu and suggested amazing options. The menu had a wide variety of authentic Italian food and everything was so fresh and delicious and beautiful presented. The atmosphere was buzzy and the drinks were amazing!!! I will definitely be back.
