Original Pizza

Being that Originals on Ave L is the pizza I grew up with, it is still my favorite slice that I often crave. I try to make it by at least once a year. (Honestly I'm not that far away I'm being dramatic) Most recently I stopped in for a slice (had 2) couldn't resist it was just as delicious as I remember. I also bought 3 tshirts !Red punch too! Writing this makes me want to go back soon.

What a peculiar establishment. They charge $4.25 (!) for one slice. A slice that is often very thin, but always dripping with oil. Last time (and I mean the LAST time) I was there, I was given napkins which I used to sop up the oil. Napkins with Trump on them, along with an adjacent QR code. Hmmm. Is that something people look forward to seeing when they go to a pizza place nowadays? Or any days? Doubt it. Keep your beliefs to yourself. Just. Make. Pizza.

​I stopped by here for lunch and ended up getting a couple of square slices. I thought they were ok and nothing great. The crust had a nice crunch to it. It's pizza but nothing special. Cash only. The place is clean and there is plenty of seating.

Kinda disgusted with them TODAY. My son went and got some slices 2 were with sausage and two were supposed to be veggie. Didn't like the presentation of the sausage and the veggie was not good at all. I was so hyped about getting thia all week and the veggie had some type of meet on it I gave it to my dog because she eats anything and I couldn't describe it SMH

My husband grew up eating this pizza as a child. We love returning for slices and reminiscing about his youth growing up in Canarasie. We have now taken both of our sons back whenever we return for a trip to explore the city. The neighborhood has changed but it's awesome to see this pizzeria thriving all these years. It's honestly a gem and true NYC-style pizza. Their freshly made mozzarella and marinara are the best

I placed an order over the phone today and the experience was so pleasant. Its everything of what I receive in person. I can tell that they appreciate their customers and that they truly love what they do. Their customer service is a win EVERY time! It could be all about the food if they wanted; when you talk about a business the customer service is a must for me, but the food is equally as important and never misses the mark! If you want to prove a point about what a NY slice can do for the soul - this'll help you win the argument. Period.

Love this pizza shop It's a staple for the floss, growing up couldn't go without grabbing a slice after school or on a hot summer day. I have no complaints yes the food has changed but it's still yummy I remember back in the days the guys who ran the shop were og Italians I don't think anyone can touch them but as it still stands original pizza is the best pizza in the floss

This Pizza shop is a neighborhood staple. It's been around since my childhood. This is the go to pizza spot I'm Canarsie. There's metered parking available and it's accessible by MTA public transportation nearby. The service is quick they'll greet you and get your order right all the time. It's a family dinner business too. I usually get my pizza to go.The pizza is very good. The sauce is tasty and robust. The crust is thin and the pizza has an overall great traditional NY flavor to it. Check out this spot when you're in the area

This is your neighborhood pizzeria with tons of history and a gem to those who grew up in the area. I LOVE pizza and this is Babes' favorite spot to order pizza from in Canarsie. So I'm a fan of the garlic knots and artificial "pineapple drink" which always hit the spot for me. Unfortunately, everything else isn't as consistently good. Solid slices with decent sauce and a good amount of cheese but always taste like they are missing something. If you are in the area, have extra cash to spare and want to seat down for a quick slice then definitely stop by. The service is prompt. Price point is on the high side for a pizzeria. I will be back and continue to try something new in hopes that something on the menu will truly knocked my socks off.

I've only ever had the plain pizza and garlic knots here and they're very good. When it's right out of the oven the hot gooey cheese and crust is superb. It has the right amount of salt, and the sauce is tasty. This place beats a lot of the pizzerias in the city. Their service is also great as I sometimes order 10+ pies for work and they have it ready in 30 minutes. They also asked if I need plates and napkins and always provide plenty. Only thing is they don't like to take credit cards, so I need to make sure I have cash for 10+ pies.
