Omar’s Mediterranean Cuisine

You could see from the crowd that food was good. Service was excellent. First time there and the staff patiently walked us through our options on salads and sides, etc. My only complaint was the portion being too big I couldn't finish my platter!

Omar's was GREAT. The customer service and the food were excellent, and they were priced fairly, too. We stopped on a whim, and as soon as we got in, the diverse crowd was a sign--we were in for a treat. It was some of the best Shawarma I've had. There was limited seating, and during the busy lunch hour, they had asked customers to save tables for those with the right-sized parties. I would recommend and return during my next visit to NYC.

I cant believe this was my first time trying Omar's! Starting off with the food, portions we enormous for the price and quality was really good. My order lasted for 4 meals - dinner for my partner and I, along with 2 lunches for myself, the following days. Both the chicken and lamb were delicious and lots of accompanying sides and sauces. Only critique was that I wished the potatoes in the platter were warmer.Service was soooo friendly. The guys working there were really kind and helpful. Interior has a few tables people were sitting at eating too, but it does seem to be a pretty high takeout operation, which was what I did.Absolutely would return the next time I get a Shawarma craving!!

Omar's lives up to the ratings as the staff was friendly upon welcoming us to the establishment. He greeted us warmly and quickly made a table for us to sit. My partner and I got the lamb Adana pita and chicken shawarma pita, respectively. Oh boyyyyy, was it filled with juicy meat and veggies. Each table had extra sauce for you to put in it and it was amazing. I'm missing it right now as I'm typing this. The chicken shawarma was juicy with flavor and seasoned well and the lamb had a kick to it. There was so much meat it spilled into the salad which was like an extra side meal! They also gave us baklava which was a wonderful touch and that was also delicious and flaky. There is a small amount of tables but we went around 2pm so it wasn't too busy. I definitely recommend having lunch here if you're visiting the World Trade Center! Excuse the lackluster photo, I was starving and forgot to take a nicer one with all the sauces spilled into it.

Incredible. Absolutely lives up to the hype. Fantastic food, fair prices, friendly team, and large portions.

I tried the Omar's on the upper East side and discovered this location randomly one day. This food helped wash away a disappointing Mediterranean food experience from the previous day . Everything I tasted as exceptional . Dining in was also very relaxing and service given was without flaws . My meal was bbq chicken with rice and hummus and they added a salad automatically and it came with bread which seemed fresh . Everything and I mean everything was A+ . Also , they brought some sauces to the table and their hot sauce ( medium spicy) was some of the best I've had and added some extra flavor to the meal . This was a perfect meal .

We visited Omar's Mediterranean Cuisine for lunch at their downtown location on our way to Battery Park on a Monday. There was some construction going on outside, but inside was clean and cozy with a takeout deli-style line and a 4-5 small tables in the back. We decided to dine in since it wasn't too crowded at the time. Of note, they do not have high chairs available!For our party of 5 adults and 1 toddler, we decided to share 2 mixed grill platters (mix of chicken shawarma, chicken kabob, and kaufta kabob) and 1 smoked grilled chicken platter with an extra side of pita. We chose a variety of sides (each plate comes with 2 sides) including hummus, baba ganoush, turkish eggplant, fries, yogurt cucumber, and falafal. We were impressed by all the sides and were pleasantly surprised that each platter also came with an additional small side salad. Sauce available included a garlic sauce, hot sauce, and tahini sauce. Portions were generous for the price, and it was enough food for all of us. At the end of the meal, there was also a complimentary piece of baklava which was delicious and not overly sweet or sticky.

I mean what can you even say? Amazing lunch! I only regret I didn't have a second stomach to eat more. Great service, fast. Amazing shawarma and hummus. The place is a must visit for lunch. Can't recommend enough.

Had lunch here as a duo, and we were both super happy with our decision. We were greeted upon entering and had barely any wait to order. Lots of options and delicious food. We had the lamb kabob pita and chicken kabob pita. Prices were good for the amount of food. Definitely would recommend!

The staff was so nice and accommodated a table for our large party. The food was perfect! Fresh, flavorful and we had leftovers.
