Nowon is great! Both locations are delcious! This Korean gastropub has American-style dishes that are Korean-inspired. You definitely feel the fusion of this establishment when you come in with the bar/club ambience! I have been to their other location in East Village and enjoyed going to each!I have had a variety of dishes which I enjoyed here that include the Charred Broccolini A La 'Caesar', 'Chopped Cheese' Rice Cakes, Extraordinary Honey Butter Tater Tots, and Spicy Gochujang Fried Chicken. My favorites from those are definitely the Charred Broccolini and Rice Cakes. The Caesar dressing on the broccolini is perfect for me and the rice cakes with the cheese on it are a great way of eating it for anybody that is a cheesy fan!For the pizza, they have many Korean-inspired types and I have not had a bad one yet! Their star of the show here in my opinion is the cheeseburger. The "Legendary Cheeseburger" is soooooo good with the combination of a typical American-style cheeseburger with kimchi favors. I could eat this burger over and over! The service staff has been always a pleasure to talk to and I definitely would want to come back here again and again!

Korean gastropub offering inventive fusion dishes in a dark, club-like ambience. Their main draw seems to be the $49 tasting menu, which requires full table participation. Unfortunately, they do not make any modifications for dietary restrictions, so if you're eating with vegetarians, the tasting menu is not an option. I came here with 2 friends and ordered a variety of vegetarian shareable dishes. Stand outs were the Whipped Ricotta Toast with citrus jam and roasted chili oil, Smoked Mozz Sticks with gochujang/tomato sauce, and the wood fired "Kinda Korean Margherita" pizza, which had the same sauce. Excellent cocktails and dessert. I would go out of my way to eat their "Warm Sweet Potato Pie" again, which tasted of caramelized brown butter, with a nilla wafer crust, and scratch-made toasted marshmallow meringue topping. I also loved my "Wutang Cowboy" cocktail, a uniquely savory stir of pumpkin bourbon, KBBQ maple, and tobacco bitters. The Marinated Cukes, Vegan Shroom Noods, and Curry Tots were all tasty, but dishes anyone could easily throw together at home.

Okay I was extremely excited to try this place - the menu looked really cool and different from other r restaurants.I got the ricotta chili oil toast which was good but the whipped ricotta was a little too runny and the chili oil flavor was a little subtleI got the honey tots which were good - def the best thing we ordered. We also got the gochujang margarita pizza which I was most excited for but it tasted kind of sweet and similar to a regular margarita flavor The ambience is really cool - seems like a cool spot for a date.

I think I'm over it. This is the third time I've gotten nowon. The first time I loved the legendary burger and the garlic butter tots. The second time I was underwhelmed and this time I was even more underwhelmed. The legendary burger is still good, don't get me wrong but it is most differently not worth $21 for a small double burger. The beef is very tender but the kimchi and the sauce doesn't pack much to it. All I could taste was the cheese. The honey butter tator tots were amazing though. They got rid of the happy hour special for the tots, which was $8 and increased the price of the tots to $12. I tried the curry tator tots too, which were pretty bland but had just a small taste of curry. Not worth it. I like the food here but I just don't think it is worth the hard earned money. I left still a bit hungry too.

Our group thoroughly enjoyed the food at Nowon! Everything was delicious! For a group larger than 6 people, they do require you to choose one of their mixtapes - which is like a tasting menu. They offer the EP (5 course, $42/person) or the Classic (7 course, $52/person). We opted for their Classic mixtape. The mixtape is a nice option which allows you to try some of their signature dishes. Unfortunately, I don't eat beef so I couldn't eat 2/7 dishes. However, there was still plenty of food and I left feeling very full. Our favorite dishes of the night were the charred broccolini a la Caesar, the whipped ricotta toast, and nowon soy garlic chicken. Someone from our table did say the chopped cheese rice cakes tasted like hamburger helper. On top of the mixtape, we ordered the Bushwick Buldak pizza which was also delicious!Overall, food was just amazing! I think I'd love to come back with a smaller group, and choose from a la carte.

I had put off coming here for so many months because after moving out from Bushwick in August 2023 I never wanted to return. Unfortunately the L train was down the weekend I went which dampened the experience a bit with exorbitant uber prices, but the meal saved my night. We did two EP mixtapes with five dishes: baby kale salad, fried chicken, chopped cheese rice cakes, honey garlic butter tots, and the legendary cheeseburger. Every dish was great, even (especially?) the salad... which they accidentally gave us two of. If I had to choose, I would've had two of the chopped cheese - SO yummy. For drinks, we ordered the lychee keen and the eazy-e. I'd pick the lychee keen over the eazy-e, personally. I would've drank more but I was so full so I'm glad I stuck to one. My only negative points was it is SO loud in there. At the same time, though, I can appreciate that they are trying to curate a club vibe. They even brought out sparklers for someone's birthday, and allegedly have drinking games you can explore. They're so lucky I had an amazing meal because I would've been pissed about the noise. Nowon was definitely worth the trip, with great food, great service, and a unique vibe. I loved the mixtape options that gave us a wide selection to try from. I wish they had the black sesame crème brûlée.. if they did I would've ordered the 7 course option.

Overall, this place does a good job on Asian fusion. The chopped cheese rice cakes tasted like hamburger helper with rice cakes (which is surprisingly a good mix) the broccolini was seasoned well, the honey tater tots are to die for, and the burger was seasoned very well! The chicken was amazing paired nicely with the pear? I'm not sure what fruit it was but added an extra element of citrus with the saltiness of the fried chicken. Everything was honestly flavorful and tasted great with the exception of the mozzarella sticks. It was very underwhelming and I could've done without. Overall, great vibes, music, energy and service! I will definitely be back but with a limited ordering selection given that this place is on the pricier side for the food options being provided

90s hip-hop is the vibe at Nowon, with delicious Korean American food. Specialties include the chopped cheese rice cakes, the legendary burger (kimchi sets this off) and their fried chicken. The Bushwick location boasts woodfired pizzas whith Korean flare, try the Master P if you like or the K-town Smokeshow for a nod to BBQ flavors. It can get loud and service can be discombobulated at times when it gets busy but overall a great place to eat when you want a less conventional dinner setting.

Nice restaurant, smaller than I expected. Dim lighting and good music. Staff was constantly moving and I never felt like we were forgotten. I ordered the spiced curry tots, aged steak burger, and my friend ordered the honey garlic tots and legendary burger. The tots were $12 each, the steak burger $27, and legendary burger $21.Needless to say, this place is expensive! Honestly, this restaurant is more of a 3.5/5 score. The food was good but I don't think the taste matches the price. The spiced curry tots didn't taste like anything special. The clear loser of the meal. At least they were crispy. The honey garlic tots on the other hand were delicious. No ketchup necessary! They should put that sauce on a burger. They were also perfectly crispy. As for the burger, it was good. It was deceptively big. It's juicy and the kimchi adds a unique flavor to it. I had it cooked to medium well which certainly helped. I was full by the time I finished my meal. I do wish the burger and tots came at the same time. With that all said, I may be one and done with Nowon. I enjoyed the food but not the price. I'd only come back if someone I knew wanted to try it. As a place hailed as one of the best burgers in the city I wasn't impressed. Again, it's a good burger but I've had burgers just as good or better for half of the price.

Mmmmm what a spot! Had early Rez here on a Friday night recently, so glad we did as it got very busy with patrons. Even with the hustle and bustle, the service remained attentive and considerate. Our party of 3 shared the broccolini, cucumber and tofu, ricotta on toast and two orders of the chopped cheese rice cakes. We literally ate all of it! The standout for me was the broccolini, too delicious. We shared the sweet potato pie for dessert and had an array of bevvies through the meal. The seasonal sour was my preferred drink but it was all fantastic. Red light in the bathroom made all my wrinkles disappear ! A great dinner.
