These days I've been craving Chinese food and Noodle Village does a good job fixing that craving. This review is prior to their move to their new location on 2/15/2025. The ambiance was casual with lots of tables packed together to maximize customer volume and profits. It's not so bad considering how much they probably pay for rent and how relatively affordable the food is.Service is quick and efficient. Waiters and waitresses quickly pass the food onto your table. Condiments are on the table. One standout was the pork xiao long bao with great dumpling skin, soup, and meat ratio. The skin is thin but strong and there is a good amount of soup in each dumpling. The meat has just the right amount of fat making the soup dumpling quite flavorful even without the condiments. The braised beef brisket and tendon soup noodles are also pretty good with tender and flavorful meat paired with a filling portion of noodles. An honorable mention goes to the steamed rice roll which is a good portion topped with a generous amount of hoisin and peanut sauce. And I would skip the scallion pancake because it's a small portion and the pancakes didn't taste much like scallion.Of course you can get cheaper authentic Chinese food in Brooklyn or Queens; but for Manhattan, Noodle Village has the good stuff. Also, remember to bring cash because you get a 3.5% discount off your bill!

They have moved from the beginning of Mott to near Canal. The place is spacious and bigger than the old location. Maybe they are newly reopened, service was not up to par. No one gets a teapot. Someone walks around and pour tea into teacups. Not very satisfactory to tea drinkers. They are also slow. Took about 5 minutes before someone came by and poured me tea. Took about 15 minutes before a waiter came to get my order. The table next to me was already there when I arrived. I got all my food before them. They left after waiting an hour for their food. The bathroom upstairs is roomy but has no toilet paper. I also used the basement bathrooms. All of them were a bit wet and need some attention. They actually cleared my table while I went to the bathroom. This has also happened to me at another eatery in Chinatown. I found that to be strange and actually rude behavior. They were not even busy. And definitely chase away customers with this practice.

This is my go to for Chinatown as there is great variety on the menu. I'll dive into the congee, share the soup dumplings, and take bites of my boyfriend's noodle dish. Mid-February they are moving to 77 Mott Street (closer to Canal on the side of the street)

Stopped here for some dim sum while we stayed in Chinatown. This was busy on a Friday night but moved quickly to get a seat. We ordered quite a bit of food but our favorites were the rice rolls with hoisin and peanut sauce and the scallion pancakes. Everything was super tasty and they refilled our tea consistently. I would recommend Noodle Village to anyone visiting the area!

Noodle Village was the first stop of my Chinatown food crawl and let me just say it was definitely the highlight of all the places I visited. I started with an order of the fried crueller which was appetizing for a starter. I then had the pork soup dumplings which were my favorite. Very tasty and filling. I LOVED the back of their work T-shirts. They were funny, and cute. The employees work pretty fast, all helping one another get customers in and out. Also, there's a 3.5% discount when using cash. Everything was great here.

The XLBs here are arguably the best in Manhattan, but what impressed me even more was their claypot rice. It came baking hot in its black clay vessel, and when the moment of truth came and I dug my spoon along its sides...Perfection. Just look at that golden-brown crust, iykyk.

What a great Chinatown staple. You must have the hot pit rice. It takes about 45 min. It's worth the wait. I love the servers T shirts. "Keep Calm eat dumplings n noodles. Sounds like good advice. You must have the soup dumplings, served piping hot. Everything is amazing here.

Pretty solid spot for chinese food! I was seated right away for sunday dinner. I ordered the chinese broccoli and XLB (pork soup dumplings). For a restaurant this nice and has a bathroom in chinatown, the menu pricing was pretty affordable.

Wow. I honestly thought food was ruined for me forever from Japan, but this place was actually rlly good!! Soup dumplings were pretty fire. The skin was perfectly thin and chewy (look at how translucent - you can see the inside stuff lol). And the shrimp wonton! The texture of the noodle was soo good and the flavor of the soup was quite good. I will say Maxi's wontons are frikin massive compared to this place, but Noodle Village makes the better dish overall. Vegetable was ok, a bit too hard for my liking.
