Overall rating: 4.4My friend has been wanting to try this so we gave it a try for lunch on a Sunday. Making a reservation was easy but we could have easily just walked in. I didn't know anything about this place, but just by walking in - I knew I was going into an overpriced, overhyped place. The decorations were way over the top. My friend and I ordered the: - Lychee Shrimp: 5/5 very different which was good - Crab & Pork soup dumplings: 3/5 nothing special - XO Rice Rolls: 5/5 I really liked these but my friend who's Chinese said they were just okay- String beans: 4/5 good, but very oily- Side of vegetable fried rice: 0/5 NOTE this does not get served as a side even though you get offered it as an option. They actually charge you $18 and it's a full on meal. I thought some of the food was good, but my friend noted overall it's very oily compared to what it's supposed to be. Take that however you want, but I think we're better in Chinatown.

3.5High end dim sum. Service was fantastic. They had plenty of seating both by the bar and in the back. Great happy hour specials as well. Our favorites:- pork belly- shrimp chips (free!)- jasmine teaThe dim sum dishes, including the chili wontons were OK, but there are better options in the city I would recommend for happy hour, including drinks and light bites

Ehhhh is really all I can say about this place. This is one of those places in NY where I feel like a restaurant invested all their money in making their interior look cool and not enough money on the dishes themself. Overall everything was pretty mediocre to me... nothing bad or good, and nothing really special. I felt like I could get these same dishes in chinatown for the same quality and flavor, and for much cheaper.Even off first impression I was disappointed when we showed up with a reservation booked and had to wait 15min+ for our table. Probably not a "will come back" for me

Came here for happy hour (3-5pm specials) to catch up with a girl friend - love the chill and comfy vibe (love their booth tables) and friendly service. For the food, I can't say it blew my mind but it hits the spot if you are craving authentic Cantonese style dishes. We shared:- Har gow (shrimp dumpling) - 5/10- Shumai (pork app wrapped with wonton skins) - 8/10- pork wonton in chili oil - 8/10 (not really spicy)- crab and pork spoup dumplings- 9/10- pork belly 10/10 - melted in my mouth! - duck fried rice - 7/10The last two dishes are from their dinner menu. In addition, my friend had the Salty boi cocktail which was very sweet and tangy, and I had a pot of Jasmine tea. Will be back to try their other selections!

Fave dishes were shrimp chili wontons, Dan Dan noodles, and mapo tofu. Our night cap was a strong by the bay drink (worth it!). I liked how each dish would come out whenever it was prepared. The service was fast, but we felt like we had enough time to enjoy the food!

Good soup dumplings and a variety of Cantonese dishes. The atmosphere is fun too. The service is also very good. All and all, Nomad Tea Parlor is a solid choice.

Really fun vibe and great food! There were a decent amount of vegetarian options on the menu, which I appreciated; I really enjoyed the Garlic sauce eggplant and mushroom claypot rice. My friends and I had a great time

My boyfriend and I saw Nomad Tea Parlour on social media and decided to pay a visit. The ambiance inside was really nice and we were seated immediately (Friday at 6:30 pm, although it began filling up throughout our meal). We decided to order the scallion pancakes, kowloon pepper beef, and shrimp fried rice. The waiter highly encouraged us to get the dan dan noodles and a vegetable to accompany our meal, so we felt pressured to get the garlic eggplant. The food came out very quickly all at once and our first impression was that the portion sizes were quite small for the price. As I took the picture, a staff member came by to kindly put down a coaster with the restaurant logo to add to the picture. We enjoyed the scallion pancakes which were satisfyingly flaky, the beef was tender and juicy, and the shrimp fried rice was pretty good as well. We did regret getting the eggplant since it was soaked in sauce, which made it difficult to finish. We left still a bit hungry and unsatisfied. Overall, I would not highly recommend Nomad Tea Parlour, especially when there are so many other better chinese food options in the city.

Came by for a little girls night out and Nomad Tea Parlour was the perfect venueI I got the Neon Lights cocktail and it was delicious and sweet, kinda tasted like a green jolly rancher. I enjoyed the presentation with tableside chili oil drops, although the spice was pretty subtle. We just got snacks, not a full dinner, but all the dishes were delicious, so I would love to come back for a real meal. Dan dan noodles were delicious! Nutty, spicy, flavorful, with a good bounce to the noodles. I also got the mochi custard buns, which were INSANE. Soooo hot and crispy on the outside, which broke apart to reveal stretchy mochi and liquid egg custard. This was so decadent, I was savoring every bite. The presentation was also adorable, looking like a peeled clementine. The buns are a little pricey, at $14 for two small buns, but they were the best bite of the night.I also loved the decor inside - old fashioned HK tea parlour vibes, so cute and vibey!
