Takeout soup. I still need to revisit their table bbq but this is focused on the takeout galbi tang. Ordered ahead for a pickup lunch galbi tang. Easy pickup. Food is tasty. You get premium packaging and utensils. All veggie banchan that was fine. Soup was tasty. But there were only 2 pieces of galbi. Yea there were a few slices of brisket, some glass noodles and radish but for $23 I want more.

Pretty mediocre spot, have always passed it for years, finally tried it.Had the lunch special of SDB and spicy pork. Clean enough spot, two floors, second floor is for KBBQ guests. The side dishes were a bit underwhelming, was surprised there wasn't a salad starter. The soondoboo was okay. Had no qualms, was my favorite part of the set. Was spicy enough and enjoyed it. Spicy Pork was bad. There was barely any pork in it. Was mostly green/white onions, more than the meat by almost double it felt. When I did have dome of the meat, it was fine, just wasn't much of it.Was still hungry after the lunch set. Would pass, there's better lunch special spots on this street.

Pretty standard fare Korean food. I got a kimchi fried rice and seafood pajeon and both were decent. It was nothing special or anything, but it got the job done. Service was quick and prices are reasonable.

I was craving some sort of soup and after reading the menu outside of their restaurant I decided to give Wonjo a shot. They have two floors for dining. The restaurant was pretty clean and organized. The workers worked swiftly and with great customer service. I had the pork kimchi stew and my cousin had the Gamja Tang ( pork ribs with potato stew). I like my pork kimchi stew, I wish it had more pork in it. I would rate 8 out of 10. My cousin was not impressed with his entree but he did like my pork kimchi stew as well. The entree came with little sides such as kimchi, beets, etc. I like that they have single or couples dining area where it's separates by a clear screen. They have restroom for use. Accepts cards or cash.

Went for lunch on a weekday it was great for a cold day! The kalguksu was warm and perfect amount of spice. Also enjoyed all the side dishes that came out! It wasn't too busy for lunch which is great. Would def come again.

Solid and reliable. Both in store and late night deliveryYukaejjang: requested extra spicy and they came through. Hearty, flavorfulKalbi: decent portion for a combo meal. Had like 10-11 pieces. Juicy, good searNaengmyun: tad smaller than I expected for a combo but still good. Noodles a bit soft though, would like more chew. Overall a bit different than standard mul naengmyun since it had some kimchi juice or something, but still happy. Banchan: average to below average. Interesting offerings like spicy hot dog and parsley(?)

My friend and I were all set to go to BCD, but when we saw the line stretching out the door like it was Black Friday, we decided to pivot to New Wonjo instead. Honestly, was I heartbroken? Not one bit. I've been eyeing this place for ages, so if my BCD dreams had to be crushed to make it happen, I'll take it.* Ddubaki Bulgoki ($23.95)My friend chose this one and it was good. Sweet, soul-soothing, and absolutely perfection. 4/5.* Gamja Tang ($21.95)I saw that Michelin recommendation symbol and instantly felt personally targeted. So, of course, I ordered it. And WOW - best thing I've eaten all trip. The pork fell off the bone like it was auditioning for a romance drama, and the flavors were out here living their best lives. 5/5.* MackerelIt tasted... mackerel-y. Like, if you're craving mackerel, this is definitely your guy. 5/5, would confirm mackerel-ness again.Sadly, no photos because my phone tapped out before the meal. But shoutout to the super awesome tall waiter who saved the day by taking my dead phone and plugging it into their front desk charger. Walked out with my belly full and my phone charged to the max.

Had a great experience dining at the oldest KBBQ restaurant in NYC , established in 1992! New Wonjo is a family-owned and operated establishment, known for their quality farm-to-table meats and for using charcoal in their grilling process. I loved the variety of items available on their menu, ranging from KBBQ to Samgyetang, and my friend and I had fun ordering a bunch of items to share. We ordered: - Premium Galbi - Sliced Pork Jowl- Samgyetang - Cold Noodles Everything was solid, but my favorite was the Premium Galbi, which was juicy and tender, cooked nicely on the charcoal grill. The restaurant was busy on a Thursday night, so definitely grab a reservation to visit with friends.
