Hand pulled noodles soup hit the spot in cold weather. Great value for the portion. Lamb noodles - very rich lamb-y flavor. I was expecting spicy but delicious nonetheless. Beef brisket - this one was spicy. A good complement to the mild soup.We also got the pork pancake which is a fair deal. Very good as a snack. Would be nice to have pickled vegetables as a condiment.Quick and prompt service. Will be back again.

Cheap eats and open pretty late: 10:30pm.Ambiance is very casual. Service is swift. Food comes out quick. Most of the food has some spice and they have chili oil on the table for even more of a kick.Beef pancake was different than other ones I've tried - this filling is much more moist and substantial. The dry hand pulled noodles have some broth at the bottom, and the noodles are thinner than other hand places (ie Xian FF). But their prices are pretty good. We came out at around $20 for two people.CASH ONLY!

The lamb noodle soup was savory and delightful with the hand made noodles. Another place for those cold winter days but their AC is really kicking during the heat wave. Spicy Village is a hidden gem in the corner of Broom and Eldridge. The soup dumplings are great, made fresh and watch out for the hot soup. The cucumber salads is refreshing and cool to the palette. The prices are not bad and love the AC during the heat wave.

After learning about this place from the noodle workshop in MOCA I just had to try how it tasted in a full fledged meal! After reading some of the reviews I realized that people weren't fond of the lamb so I kind of just ordered the beef dry noodles. I also ordered the spicy scallion red oil pork dumplings and my party ordered the spicy scallion red oil vegetable noodles. It was a bummer because they were out of vegetable dumplings but I came on lunar new year and since Spicy Village was not in operation tons of people flocked to this shop... meaning we were too late to have it!The dry wide noodle beef hui mei was so delicious and spicy! It was definitely spicy but not overwhelming. Definitely not bland and the meat had a good texture, not too chewy and not too tender, perfect for a dried noodle dish! One thing I realized is their "spicy scallion red oil" sauce is actually not spicy... but sweet! I didn't know that but I thought the dumplings in that sauce tasted amazing and definitely would come back for them. The texture of the noodle and dumpling wrapper was so smooth I really enjoyed the consistency of them... THICK. My party wanted something spicy but was bummed out because the spicy scallion red oil noodle actually WASN'T spicy, it was actually pretty sweet! There's always red chili oil on the side if you wanted to spice it up but definitely WARNING for people who want something spicy I would recommend the other ones without this sauce.Overall the shop was clean and I thought it was pretty affordable for the portion. The only reason why I knocked down the point was that the "spicy scallion red oil" sauce was not actually spicy. It tasted amazing, but misleading title. It's much more of a sweet savory taste than spicy.Thank you so much chef for teaching me how to make a wide hand pulled noodle for lunar new year!

Good dumplings but they seriously taste sooo similar to Shu Jiao's (pricier though!). The stars are for these goodies. Lamb Noodles: didn't expect the lamb to be cut this way actually. Lamb isn't gamey but also not flavorful? Normally I love thick noodles but these weren't really cutting it, probably because there wasn't a good sauce to really cover all the strands. Definitely very thick indeed and not flattened enough. A let down - not something I would come back for, sorry!

I dropped by on a weekday night, there were quite busy but the service was attentive and the food came out quickly. We ordered a soup noodle, the big plate chicken, stir fried noodles, and the beef pancake. The stir fried noodle had super bouncy hand pulled noodles and was spicy - just the way I like it! The big plate chicken was just ok, not super spicy and more on the saucy/watery side. I probably wouldn't order this dish again. The pancake was super crispy and the beef inside was delicious. Overall, this is a great place for flavorful, quick, and inexpensive dinner or takeout.

EDIT (1/10/21) -- I should've done my research first!! Don't spread fake news like how I did. I was just directed to the Eater article that explains how this business is actually not an expansion, and was actually opened by the brother of the owner of Spicy Village... AWKWARD. Seems like there is some confusion and I feel so bad for the OG spot. Will be docking a star after this clarification, and now it makes sense as to why I felt like my big tray chicken was way too salty. I still hope that this new spot finds its own path (offers new, different dishes) instead of copying its literal sister's restaurant.ORIGINAL REVIEW (1/7/21) -- So happy to see that the original Spicy Village was able to expand and open a second location just a couple blocks over. This new location took over the former Shu Jiao Fu Zhao, renovated and has several tables to dine inside, unlike its original location which I believe hasn't reopened indoor dining since the pandemic. Also unlike its original spot, it is open on Sundays!I did takeout a few weeks ago and had to get the classic big tray chicken (w/ a side of noodles) but it was quite saltier than I remember... still good though. If you save the sauce and dilute it with water, it makes the perfect noodle broth for a different meal. Hopefully they were still working out some kinks in the new kitchen when it came to my heavy-in-flavor chicken dish, and hopefully the overall quality of food will remain up to par with its OG spot. I have faith. I didn't get to try anything else on the menu but I will always support this local favorite!

(Yes, i know it's not a blessed off-shoot of the original, nonetheless we wanted to give it a try)We got takeout of:- spicy big tray chicken 9/10: it was not spicy at allll. So that was a little disappointing but otherwise everything else was excellent. We also got a side of noodles bc you have to have noodles- triple salad 7/10: it's "triple" bc its seaweed and tofu(?) and cucumbers. It was actually a decent amount of stuff but not anything i would highly recommend unless you really want something "salad"-y- lamb soup 10/10: this was definitely the highlight, the broth was so deep and rich
