The best cold pizza in Manhattan. I have never once had pizza from here that was warm, much less hot. So maybe it is supposed to be cold. We are less than a mile away, and the delivery guy takes about tem minutes maximum. I do wonder what it tastes like warm.Oh and it is such a privilege to get a tiny piece of Tiramisu for $12. Before January 2020 prices were lower and portions were bigger.

Made a reservation a few days ahead of time, but there wasn't really a need to as there were seats available as we went in on a Thursday night. Ordered three pizzas to be shared among five people, and it was more than enough. Crust was soggy. It couldn't hold up the cheese and sauce. It was a little gummy due to all the moisture. The end of the crust were okay because it wasn't soaked. Margherita was good, a classic. Soppressata picante wasn't really spicy at all. I liked the cremini mushroom. It was a white pie. I liked that there was saltiness from the olives. The mozzarella had a lot of moisture because the crust was also soggy. It's decently priced as it was less than $20 per person after tax and tip. It was very filling as well just wasn't the best slice I've had in NYC.

Such a cute little pizza place. We went early on a Friday and was able to get a table. We tried 3 pizzas and their meatball appetizer. Definitely would recommend pizza.

It's been years since I went to the original Motorino in Brooklyn and today we were near the East Village one and decided to go in and have their lunch special. It was very quiet (it's right before Christmas) but we didn't feel uncomfortable in an almost empty restaurant. The room is very nicely done, it's very 'East Village', long and narrow, clean and bright with the pizza oven at the back. Service was excellent, staff were very accommodating and friendly. The lunch deal is a green salad with any pizza for $17. It's a very good deal. The green salad was a good one, a variety of fresh leaves, nicely dressed and a generously sized portion. The pizzas are excellent. The dough is light and soft, the ingredients are high quality, with very good mozzarella, meats, fresh herbs etc. They taste like pizza I have had in Italy. Motorino is my new favorite pizza spot. Prices are very reasonable for the quality and they have deals not only on lunch but on takeout (currently 'buy two, get three'). Highly recommend for the food and it's a cute spot for a date night too!

1/1 Ambience; 1/2 Food; 1/1 Service; 1/1 ValueMotorino is a really charming and welcoming Italian restaurant that is great for casual dates or a nice get together with friends or family. This is brick oven pizza, and the kitchen is open so you can see your pizza being prepared and fired. The restaurant is maintained nicely, and the staff is warm, friendly, and quick. We went for a weekend lunch and we were seated quickly despite it being somewhat busy.My friend and I both got the margherita ($20). The crust and undercarriage were light and blistery the way I prefer it, but the flavors fell short being rather bland. The pizza, however, tasted fresh in terms of ingredients and served hot from the oven. Overall, it was a nice experience in a cute restaurant with friendly staff serving up pizza at a good value taking their large portion sizes into account.

Arguably the next pizza in the neighborhood, the margarita is my personal favorite, literally only minutes to come out piping hot out of their fabulous oven!

You know the pizzas are legit when you can see the domed pizza oven through the window. Motorino is a small restaurant but it has a very inviting warmth to it. It feels like a very familiar setting although I've never set foot in the place. I was able to place my takeaway order in person and leave within minutes. The cremini mushroom pie is packed with flavor. Where to begin? They are generous with the mushrooms as I was using every ounce of my dexterity to prevent the mushrooms from falling off the slice. It had perfect amount of salinity and sausages and the olives were not overwhelming. This is definitely one of my favorite mushroom pizzas in New York. It is definitely pricier than the other mushroom pizzas in the vicinity but you get what you pay for here.

I did Uber eats from here on a stormy night, while I was craving for some carbs. I got mozzarella and peppers (oily and not seasoned, hard pass!), white pizza with prosciutto (the best thing) and tiramisu (buy it from Whole Foods instead, the crust was not even wet from the coffee mix - hard pass again!). I might come here for in person dining at some point, but never doing delivery again.

Just went after hearing about their great pizza for many years. An unusual situation-- big group (12), some kids & some adults.Top line: Service=5 stars. Food=4+ stars. If I could, I'd give 4.5. Pretty wonderful appetizers. For Neapolitan pizza, still a top 3 option in all of NYC. And we loved the wine -- great picks at reasonable prices. My small critique: the pizza wasn't quite what I'd hoped for after hearing about it for years. For more, see below. But my standards are v high... Despite the ways I wished the pizza was even better, I strongly recommend Motorino for (a) fans of Neapolitan pizza, (b) big groups - they handled ours flawlessly, and (c) anyone who wants a fantastic value for groups of any size in the E Village.First, the booking: Super professional. I emailed them at [email protected] and each time, got a response within minutes during business hours. Many other places have high minimums, esp. on weekends and for large groups. Some include beer/wine in that package but about half of us were underage/not drinking, so that didn't work for us. Motorino had a v reasonable package (apps, pizza, tiramisu: $45 pp) for big groups and it's AYCE pizza from the 4 you choose (when we got there, we could order others) -- so it's generous in quantity and quality.Their wine list is short, but delicious vintages, mostly under $50 (we had many bottles of Barbera d'Alba, great value). Beer and wine only, so if you want cocktails, no dice. The space is small. Would be great for 25 people or so, book the whole thing. We easily sat 12 at a long table and had a great time.Apps - roasted artichokes, fennel salad, and meatballs.Meatballs were the best, a full flavor of mixed meats, in a savory, garlicky tomato sauce. We sopped it all up.Fennel salad: very good-- Nice balance of sweet-salt-fresh... would have loved the fennel sliced thinner, and more acidity or bitterness (like grapefruit). But a really nice fresh veg dish.Artichokes also v good - the olive oil absolutely sang. It was messy to eat because they were mature artichokes, you eat the tender parts by hand. But we ate them all, happily. The bread was fresh-baked, puffy, yeasty -- perfect.OK, the pizza: Overall, very good. If you're into Neapolitan pizza with soft, wet dough and the puffy edge (not crispy NYC thin crust), this is top of the charts -- amazing given they've franchised globally. (I chatted with the manager and he said the founder is still involved every day.) The crust/dough is excellent-- probably same dough as the wonderful bread,We got 5 types of pie. (Staff was wonderfully accommodating-- technically the group order is AYCE of 4 pies but we wanted to taste others-- no problem. Again, 5* for service.) We got:MargheritaCremini mushroomBrussels sproutsCherrystone clamSoppresataMy one general critique is TOO MUCH CHEESE, especially mozzarella, even tho it's high quality fior di latte mozz. I'm usually a "more cheese" guy, but this pizza has great ingredients. Let them sing! Also this is a pretty thin, wet, soft dough-- does better with light-touch toppings. Maybe we could have ordered better-- if you're ordering a bunch of pizzas, consider some lighter ones like marinara, prosciutto, bresaola or pugliese. - Margherita: Really great -- same amazing sauce as the meatballs? this fantastic dough, nice basil... and then the cheese was high quality but I'd say too much.- Brussels (white pizza, no sauce, pancetta): A bit disappointing - good, with fresh sprouts, high quality pancetta, but I'd hoped the sprouts would be browned -- this was like salad on pizza, which wasn't what I wanted (and the Infatuation review specifically said this wasn't). And too much cheese.- Cremini mushroom w/sausage (white)-- generally good, amazing crust as always, but again, too much cheese. Another bonus of the service: They made one w/out meat, per our request. - Soppressata: my favorite: spicy but not too much, and the soppressata and chili flakes cut the richness of the cheese nicely.- Clam: OK, I was maybe dumb to order this. About five places do a clam pie well, maybe none outside Connecticut/RI. It's well suited to New Haven apizz/NYC-style thin crust/Providence grilled pizza. It *might* work well on a Neapolitan pie if (1) you get it well done and (2) you go *really light* on mozzarella or even skip it. With our big group, we couldn't specify individual pies well done. Clams tasted fresh, flavors were great, but I'd have preferred no mozz. For all of them, if ordering individual pizzas (not a preset menu sent out like we had) & you want crisper dough to stand up better to the toppings, I think you could ask for them well done. The menu included tiramisu-- quite good though I'm past my tiramisu phase (one of my faves in the mid-90s) and we were very full. So: some points I'd improve if I were god of all things (and I know how hard running a restaurant is), but overall, a great experience, wonderful food. Thank you, Motorino!
