This is the perfect place for brunch with the girls!! They have more space upstairs which I absolutely loved for the vibes and privacy. We happened to come during Restaurant Week, which was great because we were able to order couple sets of a variety of dishes, while adding more food on top of that! I think our favorites were from the regular menu, and the Wagyu Steak Ju (the BEST). The wagyu pieces were juicy, flavorful, and just SO good. Even just the and the marinade was good!! Our least favorite was the hand rolls that we chose as part of the restaurant week set. They were just mid compared to all the other good dishes we ate. The brunch sweets look aesthetically pleasing but the flavors were just so so. But the portion size was definitely bigger than expected so I would recommend sharing with the whole table! Nick was the best server as he was so friendly and made great conversation whenever he came to check up on us! Would love to have him again when I go back.

Gosh, I love coming to Momoya SoHo so much! It's been too long since I first visited, and I knew the next time I came back, that my husband had to experience this. This is the closest food experience you'll ever get to actually eating Japanese cuisine that is so authentic and delicious. When we came, it actually happened to still be restaurant week, but we didn't even pay any mind to looking at that menu as I was already decided on my main entrée. My husband took a while trying to decide what he wanted to have and settled on the sushi platter, but I suggested we start with Karaage And share their famous kasai roll. Our waiter was professional quick and efficient and made sure we had everything we needed even down to refilling our water glasses often.I was grateful that I made reservations beforehand because the place was packed with happy chatter and frequent patrons. The vibe is very relaxed yet elegant for an early lunch. I got the infamous Unagi over rice and was taken back immediately to our 2019 trip to Japan. I ate every grain of rice. My husband couldn't get over the unique flavors and freshness of the sushi and was thrilled that I kept insisting we'd come here on our next day date. I plan to visit here at least one more time before the end of the year because it's too good of a secret to keep to myself .

Came here during restaurant week for their $60 seating. The sushi (Temaki Bako) was fresh and delicious. The Ika Nanbanzuke as well as the Kamairicha Jelly were good as well. Would recommend the Kamairicha jelly for people who like desserts thatre less sweet. In addition to this, we also ordered the cod, and eel rolls. The black cod was probably my favorite item here and the sauce was amazing. The eel was also relatively fresh. Despite this, the menu is somewhat pricey for the quantity.

The Tempura Appetizer was definitely a standout. The tempura wasn't too heavily breaded, and I couldn't get enough matcha salt. The staff kindly gave us a little plastic container of matcha salt to go when we asked. The Chirashi bowl was generously filled with fish. I'm not a fan of mushrooms, so when I realized there were mushrooms underneath the sashimi, I was so sad because I had to pick them out. (Thankfully, my boyfriend was there to help me eat them.) The sushi rice paired with the sashimi was good though.Despite it getting colder, the outdoor seating was warm and cozy under the heater. This would be a great date spot.

I am only giving it two stars because of the desserts. The service was a bit slow and they told us they had a table and then left us on the side for quite sometime. They kept asking us if we wanted to be seated but then did not get us seated. We ordered the Momoya box but it was not fresh and did not have much fish for the steep price point of $65. The fish had a bad after taste and tasted frozen and some pieces tasted like they had gone bad. We also put in our order for dessert and it did not come for a long time and we had to ask for it multiple times. After I had paid, the waitress was visibly frustrated that I only tipped 18%. I personally think there are better sushi places at this price point.

Lovely experience at Momoya. Quiet, simple atmosphere. The food was delicious. Shrimp tempura was very light and served with a wonderful dipping sauce. Sushi was typical- better than average but not exceptional. To be fair, we did not have a very complex order. And by the number of professional looking sushi chefs behind the counter, I'm sure they can dish out some superb sushi. The parfait was not only super fun, but was wonderful. Each layer brought a new flavor and experience to our tastebuds. Had a great time. Worth trying out.

Since the moment I saw a beautiful picture of a parfait, I have been wanting to visit Momoya SoHo. The inside was long and a narrow, with counter seat on one site, and tables on the other side. I know I wanted their glorious parfait, but we decided to make that into a nice lunch and a dessert. We ordered Momoya Box to share. It is a Chef Tasting of Mini Chirashi Bowls. Look at these beauties! Look like mini jewelry boxes filled with delicious goodness. It come with a choice of soup or salad. The staff was so kind enough to provide salad for the two of us with the one entree. We appreciated that so much! I believe the ingredients for Mini Chirashi Bowls change based on what is in season. We received a great array of seafood and fish, and also dashimaki tamago. The fresh sashimi pieces just melt in your mouth. We so loved them all! All the ingredients were fresh, delicious, not fishy at all. They were as great as I wanted them to be.The individual bowl is not large, so if you want to order this for one person, it is doable if you are really hungry. We shared all the bowls, so it was not super easy, but not that hard to do. We visited Momoya SoHo in July, so their parfait was Summer themed. To me, it looked more like Spring than Summer...Anyways, it was a masterpiece! It had a pamphlet, explaining the inspiration behind this creation by the pastry chef, and the list of all the ingredients that went into making this parfait. You lift the top part off the parfait, so it essentially becomes two desserts. The parfait came with Golden Orange Honey Syrup on the side. The staff told us to pour that over the bottom portion of the parfait. The rhubarb and berry had strong acidic, tart flavor. The honey syrup was necessary here to balance the overall flavor. We had a nice lunch here. The food was tasty and satisfying. The dessert was as beautiful and exciting as I wanted it to be. The service was friendly, polite, and very welcoming. The experience at Momoya Sosho made us want to go back again for more tasty food and a new parfait as the season changes.

Momoya definitely worth the money and experience. My gf and I got the sushi omakase and a fish fish bowl and some fresh tempura. The tempura came with this matcha salt that made us giggle with joy and excitement. Every single bite brought us back to Japan, it was light and crispy but also super fresh. The sushi and sushi bowl was also delicious and one thing that stood out to me was the sea urchin, usually something I wouldn't normally enjoy but omg the creamy texture and fresh flavor just made me realize I was missing out on such delicacy for so long.Definitely coming back here I want more!!!

Higher scale sushi restaurant in SoHo. The restaurant is nestled on a quieter street in SoHo and we were seated in their outdoor patio area. Fairly good selection of sushi, but nothing really stood out to me here. The spicy tuna crispy rice kept getting stuck in my teeth ): and the salmon roll was just mediocre. I would say it's a good spot if you're looking for a fancy sushi dining experience that isn't omakase but there's nothing really that would keep me from coming back as the service was also not the best and everything was in the higher price range.
