Momoya

Love this place! We went here after some shopping and as always, food is phenomenal! We didn't have a reservation, but they were able to get us in after about 20 minutes. We started with a few appetizers, then onto our mains, all which were fantastic. What I would suggest, is for the restaurant to seriously work on their desserts. We ordered the blueberry crème brûlée, for us it was not edible. We asked for it to be exchanged, and they happily did so and exchanged it for mochi. The mochi was better than the Brûlée, but not a good dessert. I think if this restaurant can nail their desserts or just be really good at one or two, it would help your guests finish off their meals perfectly. Instead, having a not great dessert, is what was the last taste in our mouth, which didn't reflect the amazingness of all the earlier dishes. Until they get dessert right, we'll go elsewhere for dessert. Like I said earlier. Still would highly recommend this place!!

The shop wasn't too busy. We could find a reservation without ur seats.The water refills were very frequent. I feel like they came around every 5-10 minutes. Service was polite.Tempura taster The batter is good and came out quickly. There's a lot of variation in the tempura, including seafood, which was nice. Tiny Spicy tuna There's a big center for the sushi which is not very strong, but has a fishy fishy flavorThe rice is not really my favorite, on the but there's not a lot in the first place. I wanted a bit more of that tuna flavor from the top sashimi , but it was a bit underwhelming. The spicy tuna roll does not live up to its name... it's only barely spicy.Black dynamite rollThere's a kind of sweet mango sauce which I almost mistook for eel sauce. It's a little surprising, but not bad. I liked the dynamite roll overall. The roll is big and the seeds have a nice crunch. I didn't see a lot of raw fish from the two specialties we ordered. The specialties are more like big, cooked novelty dishes.

Ordered from Momoya for delivery and shared the sweet potato roll, crispy rice and spicy tuna and tuna with avocado and salad. First, the rolls were delicious! However, the tuna avocado was lacking in seasoning, it was so bland, definitely needed more flavor. However, loved the crispy rice, can never go wrong with crispy rice! Definitely a good sushi spot with quick delivery. Look forward to going to the restaurant soon!

I usually dine at Momoya Chelsea but I came to Momoya soho for dinner with my husband because they accept reservations and we didn't want to wait. I'll start by saying our service was great. Waitress and support staff were attentive and pleasant. I come to Momoya because in my opinion they have the best spicy tuna crispy rice. However, the crispy rice was a let down. The rice tasted and felt stale, and was super hard.. like it had been sitting for a while. Yes I know crispy rice is supposed to be crispy... but this wasn't that. Super disappointed because that's what I come here for! The other apps were sub par. Nothing I'd try again. I'll be going back to Momoya Chelsea to see if the crispy rice is still amazing there. Fingers crossed.

It's probably insane that I hadn't been to Momoya yet when I'm always nearby. I always think I assumed they were ultra expensive. But they do almost every night have a line wrapped around out the door. Interestingly enough, they do have a very affordable lunch special every day where almost everything on a select menu is between $20-30. I've been twice so far and the food is super fresh. Like some of the freshest sushi I've ever had in my life. The service is truly impeccable and they're always super friendly. I ended up getting both times the 3 sushi roll for $20 deal. It's hard to pick a favorite. It's like picking your favorite child. But I really enjoyed the Yellowtail and the salmon avocado. They also give you a generous sized bowl of miso soup with it or the option of turning that into a salad. Highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Momoya chelsea is one of my favorites! I prefer this location over the Soho one because it's nicer. Pros:-large menu-affordable (as in, in line with other sushi places)-delicious -great service - lots of water refills!- food comes out as it's ready-feels fancier than it is because they dim the lights at a certain point & it's overall a nice aesthetic cons:-tables are close to each other so it can be a little loud

Just as I remember it - Momoya never disappoints. Love the food and the service. Expect to be cramped into a little table in the corner, but you will be happy you did bc the wait is unreal (and they don't take reservations).

Did not have to wait long but line got longer closer to 7 pm. The staff was super sweet and helpful. The food was fine but it gave me a stomachache after. I had the sushi sashimi combo and it was a lot of food for one person. Enjoyed the corn soup and crispy tuna. Was disappointed that they didn't have the parfait like the soho location. The seating is also very tight and hard to navigate.

The food is very good . The seating is a bit too tight , too much going on around and people like pretty on top of each others ... I don't like that when I'm eating. The staff are friendly.Waitress didn't offer dessert menu even when I asked for one she didn't remember to bring it . You just need to speak loud in this place because the surrounding is very crowded and noisy.. bathroom is downstair very tight spot.

Visited Momoya and was immediately taken by the lively ambiance and quick service. Despite the busy atmosphere, we were seated within a brief 15-minute wait. We started with the Eel Avocado Roll and the Chef's Special Sashimi. I also decided to try their soufflé pancakes and sushi/sashimi combos I loved how diverse the menu was ranging from matcha to pancakes to sushi! I recommend ordering the sushi tho and the matcha dish.
