This spot hit my ramen craving SO good. We got Spicy Miso, Tan Tan Men, and Hokkaido Zangi. The restaurant is small but effective, and the service is so kind and welcoming. Definitely adds to the warmth and coziness of the ramen they serve.Spicy Miso - so good, and the broth is rich and has so much depth. The noodles are chewy and absorb the broth just the right amount without being soggy. Caveat, the dish came with ground pork, but just one slice of pork belly. The dish isn't spicy, but I do have a pretty high spice tolerance. While the ramen was exactly what I wanted, I definitely felt like it was tooo salty halfway through. The portion was big, so the leftovers hit just the same and were perfect the next day.Tan Tan Men - my boyfriend got this dish & it was also so tasty. Not like other ramens I've had, in a unique way! The broth was much thicker, and slightly creamy. A bit too salty for my own preference, but was a great dish to try and my boyfriend loved it. Hokkaido Zangi - my GOODNESS this was good fried chicken. The dish came with 5 chicken thighs which were moist, crispy, juicy & oh so flavorful. It is $17, but I would get it again & again! We totally dipped it in our broth and it was GOOD. Definitely stop by, you won't regret it!

Very unassuming store-front that makes it feel like a hidden gem if you stumble upon it. The food was honestly great to have and portions were satisfying. It's usually a pretty busy spot. There's a coat rack to your left when you enter but otherwise hold on tight to your belongings. Their fried chicken is a must try if you like karage. Their meaty pieces have a wonderful crispy layer on the outside that you can soak in their sauce adding a citrusy tang. Sprinkle some chili powder for that extra kick. Rip it into smaller chunks for an easier time biting or just take a big old bite like its a drumstick. The meat was tender and not dry so it was cooked well! Shoyu Pork Ramen: The broth hit me immediately with a deep umami flavor that slowly feels richer as you sip it. There isn't just the added notes of garnishes, you can physically have them as there are generous amounts of green onion and garlic mixed in. There's also the flavor of bamboo shoots that occasionally enters the broth but it all comes together really nicely. The ramen noodles were on the firmer and stringier side for those who enjoy that texture. I personally don't feel like it soaks the flavors of the broth enough and like my noodles a bit chewier. The chasu wasn't melt in your mouth soft but still very soft and marinated well. Curry Tsukemen: The curry tsukemen is a limited time thing on the menu apparently so we gave it a try. The curry hugs your mouth with a light warm that slowly grows stronger. I'm not great with spice but I think with a bit of water I could slowly manage it but a great idea would be to dip the fried chicken in this broth.

Walked past here and came in on a whim and I'm glad we did! Both the Shoyu ramen & Miso ramen were delicious and I'm still thinking about them the next day. My only complaint is that I wish I had thought to order an egg! Other than that, there was a good amount of toppings, and it was super filling. My friend that came with me is Japanese and he loved the ramen and said the whole place was very authentic. Everyone working was super kind and always had smiles on their faces. Good vibes and the playlist was awesome. I'll be back!Update: I thought about this place every day for a month until I came back. New fav ramen spot in the city!!

I passed this spot while visiting NYC for the day, and I'm so glad I did! Sitting in Menkoi Sato feels like you've been transported to Japan; the interior design is simple, and long tables with set stools fill the small space, making for an intimate experience perfect for date nights and outings with friend. My group tried both the Spicy and Classic Shoyu, and the quality of the ramen genuinely matched up to ones I've had in Japan. The spice wasn't insanely spicy, but it was super flavorful and for spice lovers it really elevates the dish. The eggs were perfectly jammy, and the broth was rich without being fatty. This is a legitimate ramen spot, and I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great meal!

Went here on a brisk day and it was the perfect meal to warm us up. I ordered the spicy shoyu and my friends got the spicy miso, the shoyu and the chicken miso. The spicy shoyu was mildly spicy (as they specify on their menu that their spicy broths are not super spicy) and a very generous portion of noodles. I really liked the long stalks of uncut bamboo shoot and the charsu but I do wish that the was more of it. All the broths were tasty and overall the ramen was pretty standard and comparable to other places I've been to. (6/10)The place is unsuspecting but definitely worth a try! I would recommend to anyone in the area looking to escape the cold with a homey bowl of ramen.

The ramen here is super good. I'm not usually a fan of ramen, but I was really impressed with the Miso Pork Ramen. The portions are great, and the broth is very well made. I enjoyed the fried chicken as an appetizer too -- the chicken was crispy on the outside, but soft and juicy on the inside. I would recommend coming here and trying these items. The inside seating is on the smaller size, but feels cozy. The staff were friendly and helpful. When we came (9pm), there was no wait to get seated.

Made a return last night after a few years and i think this just isn't my style of ramen. The noodles are chewy but the broth and flavors just don't quite satisfy. There's some bit of umami missing that just salt and shoyu don't quite make up for. I did like the ground pork and pork piece (I thought it was better than a lot of cha shu ive had) but the egg was overcooked and mealy when I bit in. Overall an okay experience but not as good as I'd hoped.

A friend and I walked in on a Friday night around 7pm and there was plenty of seating available. One of the hosts was very kind and the other was extremely rude. Our third friend got stuck in the subway so we asked if we could order drinks/apps in the meantime while waiting to order our ramen - he yelled at us and said we were taking up seats from people waiting. There was no one waiting and we offered to get up in case there was another group of 3 waiting to which he replied "no one's waiting yet but you're holding up the third seat in case someone comes". Despite asking to place an appetizer and drink order, he shrugged and walked away. Even when we were ready to place all 3 ramen orders (our friend texted us her order), he stayed upset and continued to use an angry tone. About 10 minutes later, our friend joined us and we waited another 10-15 minutes before the ramen was even ready. Now the ramen and food (fried chicken) were great! Unfortunately the service was not so we probably wouldn't come back to dine in person, maybe for to-go. Either way, it's a good no-frills spot when you don't have a reservation somewhere and the ramen is actually decent.
