I love Meijin Ramen!I am vegetarian and so I didn't try ramen until a couple of years ago because I never thought I could find a good veggie ramen. Boy was I wrong! The Veggie Veggie ramen is my absolute fave! It's full of flavor, warm, and filling. It's my go-to ramen!

Meijin is a popular spot on the Upper East Side for ramen, cocktails, and sushi. As a vegetarian, there were very few options. I dont mind limited choices, as long as they're good. I ordered the only entree available to me: the Veggie Veggie Ramen. I asked to substitute an egg for the onions and scallions (same price as add-ons) but was informed that Meijin doesn't do substitutions - they only leave items out, and you can pay a la carte for additions. Pretty stingy for a place that charges $20+ per bowl of ramen, IMO. I paid the extra $4 to add the egg and am glad I did, because most of the other components were disappointing. The tofu was raw and unseasoned, the cherry tomatoes were strange in broth, and the corn tasted canned. The enoki mushrooms and inari were good. The broth was mild and a bit garlicky, with no real depth to it. There were no condiments on the table to improve it.The cocktail menu is excellent, though execution was inconsistent. Our two Collins San had very different proportions of ingredients, to the point that they were different colors altogether. The chairs are hard and many of the stools are backless. There are a few coathooks on the wall, but not nearly enough for all the coats on a cold evening.

For the area this ramen spot is really not too bad! It's definitely not authentic, but as it describes itself it is trendy, hip and convenient. For the Upper East Side, its not a bad place when you need something for your ramen fix.I like the innovative and unique twists of ramen that they have. And it looks like they update their menu here and there (possibly seasonally). The lunch special also looked like a STEAL (a plus in my book!)I had chicken chasu ramen which felt clean and yummy. Nothing too crazy, but definitely kept me warm for a good meal. Service was kind and attentive- would go back again if I find myself in UES craving some ramen.

Came here for galentine's Day dinner and the place did not disappoint. We sat at the bar and got very fast service. We had takoyaki and pork chops and sake. For the main we split a chili chicken ramen. The portions are huge! I would highly recommend this place, the food and service is great. The restaurant is pretty spacious, because the kitchen is open, it gets hot in the seating area, but nothing unbearable.

This place is efficient!!! They seat you quickly and make sure your order gets in. The staff is on top of it, picking up any piece of garbage you could possibly have. The ramen was delicious!! I had the creamier broth which was so tasteful and filling. The vibes are cozy as the restaurant is on the small side.

If you're a ramen connoisseur, you simply must add Meijin to your list! We walked in on a Wednesday evening, and were seated quickly. They had a huge selection of ramen and sushi, it was tough to choose. I ordered the Spicy Shredded Pork Tonkotsu and my partner ordered the Okinawa Ramen Special. They had coat hooks at each table, which is a rarity nowadays. The atmosphere was lively, yet cozy. They both came within 7 minutes of us ordering! My ramen had the perfect level of spice and a lovely chewiness to the noodle. I really enjoyed the Okinawa's broth, and my partner said it's the best chashu he's ever had. Can't wait to come back to Meijin!

I'll start off by saying the ambiance and interior of this place is AMAZING. They have two sides of the restaurant which is a normal seating area with wonderful decor and the other side is a bar side in a separate room that has a really cool feel to it.The service was spectacular with nothing to complain about. The food on the other hand was a little lackluster. The sushi was $19 which is crazy expensive and honestly just didn't have much flavor and left us wanting something more. The broth in both of our ramens were honestly really good but that was about it. The noodles were not great and the beef in mine and the chicken in the other was just super tough and just off.Maybe I'll come back for the vibes and try some of their appetizers and entrees.
