I went in for a quick lunch on a weekday recently. Place is clean and bright. It was not busy, and service was okay. I ordered the Beef Stew Wonton Noodle Soup, it was flavorful and the beef was tender. I found it off putting when the mandatory 18% tips added on the bill as the server didn't even refill my water.

Wonton noodle is my favorite restaurant in Chinatown. It recently moved to this location which a bit bigger than the previous one. The service is amazing and the workers always do their best for us to get our food fast and everyone is friendly. They have the best wonton soup, which you can order with or without noodles. The portions are big so I usually order a soup and appetizers or one other entree to share with the family. The duck is very juicy and flavorful, I normally do not eat duck but I could not resist here. The pan fried noodle and garlic ribs are also delicious!

Went back again in person and they charge 18% service fee (tip) automatically no matter the party size. Interesting new rule they enforced since the move. But you also get 4% off your meal if you pay cash, over card.So while I don't agree they should automatically charge 18% tip for you, I do understand why they do that as many workers don't get paid enough already and many customers in Chinatown area don't give enough tips.Either way, the food was amazing again. Per usual, I ordered the wonton mein. My friend ordered beef stew noodle soup. We both loved it with the hot chili oil they offer.

No frills wonton noodle spot where it's better to pay cash! I got the fried wontons, fried chicken wings with pepper, side of roast duck, and wonton noodle soup. For the fried wontons if you like more skin than interior then you'll like this. It was mostly just a fried wonton wrapper with a side of sweet and sour sauce! Chicken wings were pretty good and the side of roast duck! For the wontons itself they were pretty meaty and decent size!

I didn't know Mei Lai Wah also sold wonton noodles besides their famous pastries! It was so hard to get seats here on a weekend night, but I finally did one night. I fulfilled my cravings with the Beef Tendons & Wontons in Noodle Soup. Compared to wonton noodle soups nearby, everything was better, from the chili oil to the wonton filling and texture. The wontons are a nicely sized round shape too. I would go back for another quick eats.

It was a rainy day and I looked up to my surprise to see a Mei Lai Wah noodle shop! I always go to their primary location where they sell the pork buns and didn't realize they had opened a noodle shop a few streets over.It wasn't overly crowded and I felt like the service was great as a solo diner. It's pretty spacious inside in my opinion.I ordered the Pan Chow Fun with sliced beef. The flavor of the noodles were good but I'll be honest, I wasn't a fan of the beef slices. Next time I'll try a different protein or order it vegetarian style. I paired the meal with a hot tea and was happy overall with the experience.

Best wonton soup in Chinatown! The flavor is delicious and the wontons are the perfect ratio of meat to noodle. The chili oil is spicy and perfectly flavored as well. The food came out fast and it was pretty cheap overall, even paying with card.

With a bustling food fair outside on the street, we opted to sit in comfort at this informal eatery on Pell Street. A new location for this Chinatown longtime go to for wonton dumplings. They moved here from Mott Street where the lease was up. Cozy new digs, but the food is still the same, for the most part. That means it is still good. What kept it from being a five-star experience, was my wife getting multiple eye rolls from ttge waiter as she scanned the menu, taking her tine to decide what to have. Now I know brusque service is not uncommon, we are in New York, after all, but I know better than rudeness, even subtle displays, have no place in the restaurant business. This is in evidence when you receive the bill. Tips should only be paid for satisfactory service and not be a mandatory charge. I get that tips are to bring income in line with other industries, but accountability to service is the whole point to tippiing, in my opinion.
