I found the coziest Thai Restaurant in East VillageWhen it's cold.. I tend to opt for hot and hearty meals and that's exactly what @mayreenyc has given me. I went on a snow day and it was exactly what I needed to warm me up before braving the cold once more. This intimate spot provides delicious Thai food, tasty cocktails and amazing service. The staff was friendly and everything came out hot and fresh. My friend had the pineapple fried rice while I opted for soup which came in a huge dish that was perfect for sharing. If you're in the area you definitely have to stop by... Thank you @mayreenyc for hosting me and of course, this post for late and join me @naturallynory for more NYC Foodie AdventuresThai food near me, best Thai restaurant, nyc restaurants, Thai restaurants near me, Thai restaurants east village

Came here with a party of 10 for a friend's birthday and was disappointed how tightly packed they had us all sitting together. Granted this restaurant is small but ideally, I wouldn't recommend this place especially if your planning to dine with 4 plus people. If anything, this restaurant should have rejected the reservation considering the number of people it was booked for.As for the restaurant, it was super dim. It created a dark ambiance but so dark that it was kinda hard to see my food properly and to know exactly what I was eating.I ended up ordering their lump crab coconut curry over vermicelli. When the order arrived, it was a complete disappointing. My dish was overly salted that it over powered all of the other natural flavor of the curry. The curry itself was watery too instead of having a creamy consistency. They only gave a small portion of vermicelli and the side salad was pretty much cut up cabbage, carrots and bean sprouts. The side salad reminded me of those cheap mesclun salad that I would see restaurants using as a filler for dishes to make it look more like a full meal.Overall I was disappointed with my dish and and dining experience. It left me feeling uninspired to return to the restaurant to try their other dishes or to even recommend this place to other people.

The chicken wings were ridiculous. Wish this place was more accessible to me because I'd order them all the time. Duck curry was flavorful and a good balance of spicy and sweet. The crab fried rice and spring rolls were also delicious. Shame the bar seating wasn't the most comfortable, but my experience overall was a good one. Thanks for the food!

The staffs were friendly. I ordered Pad Thai For Khai. The noodles were covered in an omelette and had five shrimps inside. Noodles are very flavorful. I noticed most of the items are spicy since it is a Thai restaurant. Food is delicious and the place is nicely decorated. Would recommend coming here! Food: 5/5Service: 5/5Ambience: 5/5

Dive into the vibrant flavors of Southern Thailand right in the heart of the East Village! MayRee! This cozy and charming spot is my latest culinary gem, serving up authentic dishes that transport your taste buds to the streets of Thailand. My absolute favorites? The Branzino Pla Lui Suan--a perfect balance of tangy, spicy, and savory--and the sautéed vermicelli Pad Mee Kati, which is so flavorful with the lump crab meat. Trust me, this is a must-visit for any Thai food lover! Oh yeah. This is a great place to enjoy lunch. There were 6 of us and we chose to dine in. It was one of those incredibly hot days that we had in early August and just coming inside to some air conditioning felt good. As other reviewers have mentioned, it's situated on a small street just north of Houston. The street is quiet and the ambience both for inside and outside dining is really comfortable. This Thai restaurant serves food that is more interesting than most. We started with Edamame that was somewhat spicy. So good. We also had the Spring Rolls, they were delicious. Between the 6 of us we had a bunch of dishes, the stand out ones for me were Grilled Shrimp Mango, Curry Noodle and Kee Mao Talay. For dessert we enjoyed the the Mango Sticky rice. This was devoured in absolutely no time at all. The prices are totally reasonable, the service was wonderful and we completed our meal very satisfied and in a really good mood. Go for it!

Cute little Thai spot, hidden away on a side street. The street itself feels more residential, I definitely did not expect to see a restaurant here. But the upside of that is the restaurant wasn't too crowded or loud! It is a relatively smaller space though, more suitable for smaller parties of 2 or 4. I got the Kaeng Phed Ped (duck curry) and it was quite delicious! The duck was actually very crispy and tender and didn't feel oily. The curry itself was also good, salty and just a little bit spicy. There were also a lot of fresh veggies (bell peppers) and fruits (lychee + pineapple) that cut through the saltiness that I enjoyed. I really enjoyed my experience and would definitely come back. Not giving it a 5 though because I feel like most Thai places in New York are quite good, and even though this place was also solid it didn't particularly stand out to me as exceptional.

Chill spot on the les. We went w a reservation on a sunday which i rec as it started filling up. None of the food was bad i just wasnt rlly crazy abt anything. The roti nam keaum was nice but just a tad too sweet and i wish the tofu was either fried or baked or something and just not put plain in the curry. Roti however was delishI'm a deep somtum lover but the one here was just okay - a little bit too fishy imo

MayRee is a gem for authentic Thai cuisine with a modern twist. We started with crispy Hed Tod mushrooms with sweet chili sauce and the Somtum papaya salad, both bursting with fresh flavors. For mains, the Pad Thai Hor Khai, wrapped in a delicate omelet, and the rich Kaeng Phed Ped duck curry were exceptional. The cocktails were a highlight, especially the Morrakot, with sake, vodka-infused lemongrass, and coconut milk, and the indulgent Thai Tea Tikki Coco, topped with coconut flakes and edible gold leaf. Celebrating Pride Month, the 'Proud to be Pride' cocktail--a blend of gin, elderflower, and prosecco is def a must! With top-notch ambiance, service, and unforgettable dishes, MayRee is a must-visit.
