This restaurant has an EXCELLENT REPUTATION for a reason...every time I go I am impressed by the consistency of food quality, taste, and best wine selection! This time I felt compelled to finally express my feelings. I always bring my clients here since the staff from entrance to exit are all very friendly, professional and down to earth. They exude elegance and class without any attitude unlike other establishments I have entertained at. Had the pleasure of meeting Bill Paczkowsky, AGM, now I know why the staff are nice... it all comes from the top, and with a humble manager who cares about every customer, no wonder entire experience is always top notch!

I stopped by for Aperitivo 3-4:45 for a drink and some oysters. I was visiting from out of town and had just wandered the city after pouring rain all day. The first hostess I encountered was not "with arms wide open" and dismissive when I mentioned I was going to sit at the bar and order, but directed me to go right ahead. Assuming at this point most of the staff has already labeled or judged me based off what I was going to order. There was one bartender who was very kind and offered me to coat check my raincoat to be more comfortable, I was truly appreciative of this and wish the hostess had offered this initially. I should have just gotten a Hudson Cider but wanted to let the bartender make their magic in a cocktail in which I ordered the $32 Old Fashioned. I was treated with breadsticks that were very delicious. I ordered a half a dozen of oysters, I did have to ask where they were from in which I was told NY, East Coast & 2 West Coast. I stuck East coast and was not disappointed and loved my oysters. Just felt like I was a nuisance to the bartender and did not feel like I had welcoming service. The bar was empty when I first arrived and started to fill up as I was leaving. The hostess had changed staff when I left and the new girl was so bright and friendly a complete 180 of personality of when I first arrived.

This place is on a whole other level! We came here for a date night and I didn't have any expectations, my partner had picked it out after I told him I was craving seafood pasta and he happened to take me to the place that is KNOWN for seafood and pasta. Seriously the best of the best, you are treated like absolute royalty. They have complimentary coat check at the door so that you don't have to sit with your coat. Already, I was blown away by the amazing service. Super friendly, very thoughtful, and constantly going out of their way to ensure that you have a great experience. Extremely polite, and mindful, they take fine dining very seriously here which I really appreciated. Be prepared to spend a lot of $$$ because the entire menu - drinks and food are definitely on the high end of price points. For the experience, for the service, and the quality - it was absolutely worth. They start off by bringing a board of different assorted bread which you can pick and eat as much as you want. I went with the focaccia which was delicious and paired really well with their house-made oil. We ordered a half dozen oysters, ordered a variety so we could try different ones and they were so fresh and amazing. Already started the meal off with a bang. We went with the Polipo appetizer which is their octopus and it was mind-blowing how soft and how it seemed to have melt in our mouth. Very well cooked, seasoned, and presented. We also shared the Casarecce which was DIVINE, their jumbo lump crap pasta with uni puree, basil and calabrian chili. Because we told them we'd like to share everything, the kitchen went ahead and split the dishes into separate plates for us including the appetizer and entree which were very thoughtful. The staff continuously came around to check on us and offered bread and more drinks throughout our dinner. The food was incredible and the drinks we had were amazing. I can see why this place is the best of the best!

This place offers a beautiful ambience with an elegant vibe. The service was top-notch, and every dish was exceptional - you truly can't go wrong with the menu. The octopus fusilli and lobster burrata stood out the most for me - both were rich in flavor and perfectly crafted. I'm already looking forward to returning for another unforgettable meal.

Love this place! They have amazing pastas - my favorite is the malfadine but they were all good. Also highly recommend the mushrooms and tiramisu. The lobster burrata was good but not amazing. We didn't love the little gem salad, which we usually love. Also enjoyed the lemon ginger tea.Over all, amazing food and service. Highly recommend!

4.5 rounded to 5. Their savory food was excellent that we absolutely savored every bite. The weakest link was dessert, just like their other restaurant, Ai Fiori. Service was a bit rushed. It sort of made the experience feel less fine dine. What was impressive was that our server split most plates for us since we're sharing everything. We thought it was really thoughtful. It's probably one of my favorite restaurants in the city that I'd definitely be returning.

This is one of my favorite spots in NYC. The decor is elegant and modern. Service is attentive as usual. This time there were five of us and we ordered family style so that we could try more items. My "must order" is the Fusilli (red wine braised octopus, bone marrow). This time we tried two new pastas: Casarecca (jumbo lump crab, sea urchin, basil, Calabrian chile) and Risotto All'Aragosta (lobster, hazelnut brown butter, tarragon). We had two of our go-to entrees: Capesante (pan-seared sea scallop, summer squash, spaetzle, mint) and Bistecca (grilled Creekstone Farm sirloin, little gem, bone marrow panzanella). We also ordered a side of Broccolini (bomba calabrese, molica). Everything was just spectacular. I especially liked the Casarecca. Of course we had to have their Tiramisu (mascarpone mousse, espresso sabayon, chocolate crumble, mascarpone gelato) for dessert, we shared two orders. They were heavenly! Complimentary chocolates were also lovely.Marea always delivers, highly recommended!
