Everything we got was so delicious and I don't have more to say:- Croquetas, stunning way to start the meal, perfection in every way. Must order- Marcela's rice, solid- Eggplant, very interesting and unique with the hummus and honey. A nice surprise - Mushroom pesto (?) dish, delish with a great sauce. We had to ask for extra bread for dipping- Meatballs, a classic. Very good but not the most special - Churros, great way to end the meal

I wanted to like this place since the waitstaff was nice and kind, but I was quite underwhelmed given the 5 star reviews. We ordered: camarones al ajillo, tortilla espanola, Marcela's rice, and the meat plate. Each meat on the meat plate (salami, jamon serrano, chorizo, salted almonds, olives) tasted like something from the cured meats aisle of your neighborhood chain grocery store. The camarones al ajillo and rice were not necessarily bland, but uninspiring and kind of boring - akin to a good frozen meal. And unfortunately, the chorizo in the rice was also of the same grocery store ilk as that of the meat plate. Lastly, the tortilla espanola was also boring, and its potatoes were cut into large, undercooked pieces that - combined with the runny texture - made it unenjoyable to eat.Ultimately, the food quality and flavor really missed the mark and we were disappointed. That being said, the portions were good and reasonable for their price. It was also a really cold night but the restaurant itself was still cold (they had the heat on from 2 HVAC units but also a window AC unit on and blowing cool air as well). My jacket was cold to the touch when we got ready to leave, and one of the other patrons was wearing her jacket the entire time we were there.

Food: 4.5/5Service: 3.75/5Ambiance: 3.5/5Spanish tapas is usually tasty, and Marcela's was fine in this category. I enjoyed the gambas al ajillo. There were plenty of plump tasty shrimp. The rice dish was good too, with enough chorizo. The croquetas were just ok, as I thought there was probably a bit too much runny cheese in them. But they were nice and hot. The tortilla omelet was satisfying, but came out much later from the kitchen than the other three dishes. I think they may have forgot that I ordered it. There was only one bartender servicing the entire restaurant when I went at Sunday at 5pm. Luckily there were only two parties, me and another table. Aside from us, the place was empty. It is a small restaurant with dim lighting. The music is too loud and they play latin pop, like Maluma-type songs, which isn't really that classy. They have some sort of equipment that makes four loud beeps intermittently, which was annoying. And when I asked for the check, the credit card machine wasn't working properly and the bartender had to call someone to talk him through how to fix it, which took time. The bill came to $86 including tip for four dishes and no alcoholic beverages, just ice water. Value is all right, as the meal was pretty tasty and filling. From what I saw, Marcela's is a decent choice if you are specifically in the mood for Spanish tapas and live close by, but it's not particularly romantic or upscale. The restaurant has a few minor annoyances, and the neighborhood it's in is not really destination-worthy. So overall it's just okay.

This place is so cute! It's very small and there's a draft so just make sure to dress warm. The service is great. I love tapas and this was so excellent. The croquetas were sooo delicious! The bravas were crispy and loved all the sauces on top. The meat and cheese board were amazing. The cheese on the top right was soo creamy and delicious, the honey was an added bonus!! The empanadillas were also so crispy and savory. Not pictured but we had the omelette which was SO good. The omelette was a perfect twist on breakfast food as a shared dish. The drinks are delicious and strong. It's right near my brothers apartment so I'll be back.

Long overdue review but I booked this spot for my boyfriend's birthday dinner and it was a great choice. We pretty much got the entire space booked out in the center. Lovely wine and tapas were served! Prices were reasonable and the service was friendly. We tried a variety of tapas such as calamari, garlic shrimp, chorizo al vino, meatballs, croquetas, and more. I would definitely come back if I was in the area! The restaurant has a very warm and intimate vibe.

its a shame that Marcela's is hard to notice when walking by (rest of the street is residentia) because this is definitely some place i would frequent regularly and i feel deserves much more attention. although the plates are small, they have a cute menu with homey yet classy items that are appropriately priced. the albondigas marcelas are the best meatballs ive ever had and go so well with the bread. the marcelas rice was cooked perfectly and had generous parts chorizo and shrimp. we really enjoyed the spicy tamarind and passionfruit margaritas and freshly made churros too! service was incredible.

My friend and I decided on this spot last minute and I'm so glad we did. We got there just after 8pm Friday night and was lucky to get the last available table (outside was empty but too cold!)Good service! Really good and fresh food! Great sangria! And the ambiance in here is so cute and cozy! Definitely a new fave! Can't wait to go back and try out their happy hour! Service: Olivia was our server and she was really good despite it being busy and her being the only server really. She still managed to be friendly and efficient, we didn't wait much to order anything or to receive our items. She also gave some good, honest feedback on menu items. She told us about the happy hour as we were getting ready to leave and recommended the passion fruit margarita, which I can't wait to come back and try as it's my fave!Drinks: we had the white and red sangria. They were both good but the red was better by far, so we ordered that for the next 4 rounds! Food: the best thing we had by far was the "Camarones Al ajillo"...so much so we ordered 3! We also had the "Pan Tamuca" with Serrano Ham added, it was good but nothing too special, I could do without it. The "Chorizo Al Vino" was also very yummy, I loved it. I finished off with "Marcela's Rice" minus the olives and capers and it was good, a good mix of flavors. I felt like it was missing a little bit of sauce or something, so I ordered another Camarones Al ajillo and poured over it lol the sauce on that dish is to die for! We had a great time and loved pretty much everything we ate! We will definitely be back soon to try some new items

Excellent food and great place for a cozy meal with a friend or two. The Shrimps and Mushroom toast are some of my favorites along with the red homemade sangria.
