Everything from the service, ambiance and food were spectacular. We came here for a celebration and were delightfully impressed. First, the El Sancho and Birds of Feather cocktails were so tasty that we got a second round of the same. My only complaint is that the ice to drink ratio was disproportionate, there was a lot of ice filling the glass. Amuse bouche - pureed potato with possibly parsley oil (I think) served hot -- delicious strong start Shishito peppers w spicy mayo - delish Croquetas - spectacular that we ordered another round - crispy exterior with the inner black truffle, manchego and sunchoke perfectly melted and oozingHamachi crudo with Calabrian chili, blood orange and crème Fraîche - another favorite dish Striped bass - not the flavors we were looking forShort rib - another star of the show For dessert, I was really looking forward to the soufflés, but alas, they were no longer on the menu. Instead we got the cheesecake with blueberry compote and the yuzu tart.

Door is a little obscured because you walk in a different entrance but they have signs that make it easy to follow! I really liked the ambience inside the restaurant--slightly upscale trendy. We had a reservation for Saturday brunch and ordered a couple of things:- croquettes (3/5) good but wouldn't order again - hamachi (5/5) probably my favorite - chilaquiles (2/5) flavor was good but lacking depth - wagyu burger (5/5) this was also really good - Madeline jalapeño cornbread (4/5) surprised me as cornbreads just alright to me but I really liked the Madeline ideaOverall, we liked the food here! Would come back again for the burger and hamachi. We asked for medium rare and it was definitely more on the rare side but it tasted so soft and tender/juicy we didn't mind and really enjoyed it.

Came here with a friend and had a lovely time! We got the scallop aguachile, hamachi, mezzelune, and short rib. All were wonderfully delicious, really enjoyed the aguachile the post. Mezzelune was creamy and added a nice heft to the food since a lot of the seafood was lighter. Short rib was braised perfectly. The space itself is very beautiful, definitely a great date spot.

I had a pleasantly good time at Madre - the experience felt elevated and all the food we received were very good. I would highly recommend both the hamachi and the Wagyu burger - they both just melted in my mouth! If I had to not order one of the dishes however, it would be the chilaquiles - kind of felt like eating Fritos under sunny side eggs. It was a great spot with a brunch menu that just opened - and I am glad I got to try many of the dishes.

Food, service, and ambiance are all great!! Food:-croquetas: really good and the sauce is excellent. Honestly can't go wrong with this. -scallop aguachile: really refreshing and very interesting that the scallop pieces taste like fish that I forgot it was scallop -striped bass: fish is well made and balances out well with the squash slices. -octopus: very delicious and beautiful presentation -papas bravas: the potato pieces were small, not like the cube sized potato chunks of most Spanish tapas papas bravas. This dish is good but very filling and on the heavier side. Ambiance is gorgeous and it's a perfect date night spot or with a group of friends! The restaurant also provided complimentary gazpacho which were very refreshing and good.

Madre in Greenpoint is a stylish, eclectic restaurant featuring Spanish and Mediterranean influences. They came out first with complementary chips and yogurt sauce followed by our chosen small plates (cornbread madeleines, papas bravas, chicken liver mousse, oysters and black truffle croquettes). We shared the mains amongst our party and had the sweet potato agnolotti with lobster, tilefish with black lentils, kurobuta pork, and chicken with salsa verde served with a side of tamale. All of the mains were excellent but we had a soft spot for the tender pork and agnolotti. For dessert we settled on a decadent combination of cherry clafoutis, complementary chai crème brûlée, and what put madre on the map, the seasonal souflee (banana with horchata anglaise and topped with crème fraîche gelato). The souflee was spectacular and served with flair table-side. We could see madre becoming an extremely difficult table to get in the future, so we recommend you go now before tiktok makes it a too much of a circulated name in the food scene

When a friend told me about this spot I had no idea what she was talking about because I feel like it's kind of hidden but lol and behold this place is a hidden gem! The vibes are gorgeous and perfect for a date night or girls night. The wait staff was knowledgeable and quick, and the food was great! They gave us little shots of potato and leek soup that I wish I could have a bowl of, and the fish and octopus were standouts! I think this spot is also known for their cornbread Madeline's which were good but I wouldn't say it was mind blowing. I was obsessed with everything else though. The dinner menu is small and we almost tried everything but I would still go back again just to have the same meal.

Overall fantastic spot. The decor is stylish, spacious and the servers are friendly. A majority of the food was delicious! I think there were just some small improvements that could've been made. The biscuit under the eggs Benny were so difficult to cut through with a knife and fork that we were both sawing at it to get a bite! This was also a little bit too salty for our taste. The oysters were good quality but the mignonette they placed melted into the liquids and you couldn't really taste it.The fluke ceviche was delicious, love a good Leche de tigre. The cornbread madelines were good too but a little heavy so the whipped butter really balanced it out. The French toast is HUGE so keep that in mind. We struggled to finish it but it was good. On Sundays it's all day happy hour, so oysters are 2$ each! And there's draft beer and roses and spritz to complete your brunch. Enjoy!

This place is fairly new and I was so excited to go. We managed to get a reservation for 530 right at opening and we're promptly seated. The entrance to the restaurant is where you see the name sign and the inside where the hostess is looks kind of like a hotel lobby. We got the truffle bites, octopus, madeleines, and soufflé and the server also brought out crème brûlée for us on the house!Instead of bread, they gave chips with a creamy dip that paired very nicely - I was pleasantly surprised. Definitely get the madeleines and soufflé! Next time I'm here. I'll definitely order some more real entrees, but I was very content with the meal that I got. I will be back!

I went on a date at Madre. I have to say I am amazed by the food and service. There are not many items on the menu but we were both satisfied with all the items we ordered including the drinks! The bartender also kept checking on us and provided his suggestions. I actually felt like seating in a Michelin restaurant and am hoping that Madre will be selected one day!Follow more on Instagram @whatsuprosienyc
