Food and service were top notch. I love Thai food and I was looking forward to trying this place due to all the great reviews. They exceeded my expectations. We were extremely hungry so we ordered four entrees (took leftovers home and devoured them the next day) - crying tiger (9/10), fried basa (10/10), crab fried rice (10/10), drunken noodles (10/10). My husband liked the crying tiger and so did I but I think everything else was just so much better. I honestly don't think you can go wrong with anything you order here. Next time I'd love to try the steamed basa.

LumLum is one of the better regarded establishments along the 9th Avenue Thai restaurant cluster. I had heard they serve some more inventive items, and so on the rare occasion when I found myself in Hell's Kitchen on a Friday evening, this was first to come to mind. While the vibes and company were excellent, the food fell a bit short. I was not expecting the gui cai dumplings to be actual dumplings and not glutinous chive fritters, and they were a bit light on flavor. The taro fritters were a bit tastier, but also a bit dense on the interior. The papaya salad was our favorite item of the evening, and was perfectly tangy.

Space is tight but it's Manhattan so typical of the area. We had a reservation for 5pm and seated right away. Definitely cocktails over wine here. Wine is not kept at the right temperature. We started with the beef tartare. Great flavor and fresh. Next came the steamed fish and drunken noodles. Loved the spice and flavor on everything.Food came out in a timely manner and we were early for our broadway. Will definitely return for more!

The Thai spot is cozy, lively, and a great dinner spot. The interior of the restaurant is decorated with decor of Thailand and is cozy. It is a bit cramped though, and may not be ideal for big groups. Tables were also a bit small, so it was hard to order lots of dishes. Get reservations if you can, as it was super busy when I went!I got the papaya salad, the pork belly, and the pad kee mao. I highly recommend the pork belly, as it was crispy and came with a delicious sauce. I also loved the pad kee mao, which was a huge portion with chewy noodles and lots of chicken.

Came here on a Sunday for lunch right when they opened and were promptly seated. They were very fast in getting the orders and food out to us. I ordered the Khao Soi Gai and the Crying Tiger based on recommendations here. The crying tiger was tasty but it was not spicy at all, and the layer of meat was actually a big thin compared to the large amount of garlic fried rice. No complaints about the taste besides the lack of spiciness. The Khao Soi Gai was very zesty and fresh tasting and is one of the better Khao Sois I've had. The chicken was so tender it practically fell off the bone. I would recommend getting the Khao Soi and skipping the Crying Tiger. Prices are fair for Hell's Kitchen and the service is efficient but good. Nice vibes and the restaurant is decorated like a tropical paradise.

Perfect pre-theater meal! This place has incredible Thai food. The portions are on the smaller side but everything we had was absolutely delicious. We had the grilled river prawns, the crispy crab omelette over rice, and the steamed fish. Each dish was unique and tasty in their own way.Reservations are a must! It can get super crowded but the service was pretty fast. Felt like dining in a cozy home. Would love to be back soon.

Walking into this tiny establishment on an offshoot side street from the usual lively restaurant row scene you are immediately bodied by the fish sauce which permeates the entire tiki beach themed place in coziness. It's an escape from the norm especially in the brutal cold of January. I've honestly not tried the standard "Thai" fare here that everyone gravitates to for take out and delivery. Putting aside those noodle and curry dishes I found myself coming back here for their whole fish dishes.I'm obsessed with whole fish bones and all. They make a steamed and a fried fish. I prefer steamed fish but they pair their fried fish in Chuu chee curry which just slaps like never before. The chilis. The curry sauce under the fish. I'll eat the skin even in this scenario because it's 100/10 for someone like me who loves to devour a whole fish. If you walk in it might be difficult to snag a table but I was able to eat at their tiny bar several times.Seating is tiny and I overheard people complaining about this. It's the usual city eatery though so if you aren't accustomed to that than I can't help you. I was able to devour two whole fishes at the bar no problem.

LumLum has successfully received the crab fried rice baton. Let me explain. LumLum is currently in the same premises as another Thai restaurant, Pam's Real Thai, that occupied the same space until the Covid pandemic about five years ago. I ordered the crab fried rice each and every time at Pam's and it really mattered not what else I ordered,as long as I could order that crab fried rice with the lump crab meat that was abundant enough as not to be an afterthought. When Pam's closed, I thought I would not find that crab fried rice the way I liked it at Pam's. I tried a number of Thai restaurants that never met the standard set by Pam's.Well yesterday, Sunday, I dropped by LumLum and ordered their crab fried rice and it was just as good as Pam's. I tried to find something wrong, but it was all good. I placed my order around 4PM before the evening rush. I ordered a Sapporo in the bottle, no draughts here, and their Tom Yum mixed seafood glass noodle soup. I enjoyed it all, but service was a bit slow this late afternoon. They were preparing for a birthday party of ten and this caused some shuffling of patrons to another table to accommodate this large party in a space that has been maximized in its utility compared to Pam's arrangement.Let me get back to the crab fried rice. It feels like a mission has been accomplished. Almost all Thai restaurants seem to err in not putting any effort into this dish. At the very least, some egg and green onions should be in there, but that's not guaranteed. The egg and green onions are in there, as well as lump crab meat, not krill or shredded crab meat in a paltry amount. You get lump crab meat in abundance and it costs more, nearly thirty bucks, but it is so worth it. Two other tables within earshot and line of sight ordered it. It's popular and it's worth it. They do it right here and I enjoyed it all the more, knowing it is still there for me to order it again. Friends from out of town were as disappointed when I told them Pam's closed as they will be delighted when I tell them the baton has been successfully passed to LumLum. The Tom Yum mixed seafood glass noodle soup was good and spicy. It's not too spicy for most people. The glass noodles were perfectly prepared. It has a few giant shrimp with the heads for extra flavor, some crab, mussels, squid, and calamari. If cilantro is hard to take, let them know to back the cilantro leaves out. The soup is about twenty two or three bucks and the one without the noodles is about ten dollars less. I enjoyed the the soup, especially on a cold day like yesterday. My total came to $63 before tip. The one bathroom is getting plenty of use, but it is kept clean. The decor has also been upgraded since Pam's and the music yesterday was a surprising 70s mix of R&B with a touch of funk. I would say you can order anything off the menu and they should meet with your palate's approval. You can dine with confidence here, but you will have to make an effort to get the attention of servers at times, even if just for water. Just know the kitchen has your back when it comes to that crab fried rice!Four stars!

Thai food in HK never disappoints! The place adds to the list. It's gets pretty busy here so if you can get a reservation that would. be optimal. I have usually walked in for a table for 2 and typically can get seated within 30 min, but keep an eye out b/c some times they have seated other people before me if there's a huge crowd. The turnaround is pretty fast, but also make sure your full party is there. For food, I loved the steam whole fish. It's super fresh and seasoned well and it goes great with a bowl of white rice! But otherwise, you can't go really wrong with other options.

we made a reservation at 9pm and were seated shortly after. the staff were very attentive and fast. our food also came out soon after we ordered. there were a lot of things on the menu that sounded tasty, but we ended up ordering the:- crying tiger: i liked this, the steak was well cooked, and the other things in the dish like the rice and the sauce paired well. though, i feel like as far as steaks go, you could get better though. - the seafood tom yum noodle: this dish was good. there was plenty of seafood and it paired well with the noodles and the soup. i will say i found the tom yum to taste different than the typical tom yum i usually have, though this was still good.we also got a thai iced tea which was yummy! overall it was a cozy and intimate dining experience, i had no complaints. the food and the service were good
