One of the best pizzerias in New York City. Owner/chef Salvatore Carlino comes from a pizza lineage with roots in Sicily. His family owns Papa Leone Pizzeria, which opened 43 years ago in Sheepshead Bay. Lucia now has three locations in NYC, offering an elevated take on classic New York style pizza. I placed an order from the SoHo location via Postmates, which arrived quickly and still piping hot. A Vodka Pie was $38, which seemed steep, but it was massive; about 8 large slices. We added Calabrian chiles to half for an additional $4.99. The pizza was a perfect 10/10. The crust was extra thin and foldable, barely supporting the weight of the generous amount of delicious, creamy vodka sauce. They do not skimp on the sauce or cheese, resulting in a decadent pie. The added chiles provided a delicious bright heat. I look forward to trying more of their pizza, especially the Cream Of Spinach pie.

Lucia of "SoHo"?? Yeah, you can't get anymore south of Houston! As for the pizza? Take my money! I'm adding this spot to the 25 pizzas to try in 2025 list. The pizza we had today was OUTRAGEOUS! Crust - Perfect NYC crustSauce - Man, that was some flat out righteous pizza sauce. And it was the perfect amount, nothing slid off the sliceCheese-Toppings - The highest of qualityI was nervous today because we came in NYC for our eye exams and had no reservations for lunch. My wife is adventurous when trying any hot spot but if there is any inconvenience she's bailing. My youngest son and I are professional line standers. When Cronuts first came out we were on line, Sunday morning in January to be #2 and #3. (J.Lo sent her assistant) We pulled up and found parking on a side street. Once inside, standing room only really means standing. There are no tables or chairs. Just a few long shelves to put a pizza plate and a can of soda. My plan is to crush a pepperoni slice and a vodka slice. My wife starts getting creative while standing on line: Maybe we should get a whole pie and bring the rest home? I said, sounds like a plan but for today I'd like to try pepperoni. She said maybe you're right, next time.I see the pizza expediter, lining up the slices and adding a splash of hot honey to my pepperoni slice. Oh yeah...I took a bite of the pepperoni, everything I just said above. Killer slice, I would put this classic New York pizza above Mammas too. I mean, the Mammas Too pear slice was good but as a New Yorker? This pizza style is way better. You want to wait on line for this pizza.

A little pricier and a longer wait than your average pizzeria, but with some nice finishing touches you get an excellent slice of pizza at Lucia.Had a NY Plain and a Pepperoni slice - both were very good.

Stopped by Lucia after doing some shopping. Upon coming inside I was greeted by a welcoming ambiance with decent vibes. After reviewing the menu options I opted for the spinach and three cheese pizza variants. The spinach didn't have much flavor but the three cheese was better. The cheese was fresh and flavor profile was great overall. I'd definitely try again. Customer service was attentive. Definitely check them out if in the area.

Despite have gone to almost every famous pizzeria in NYC, I think I had my first real NY slice at Lucia of SoHo. I couldn't believe how thin this crust was it was truly so thin and so foldable! Foldable but not to mention flavorful. We ordered the vodka, spinach, and mushroom pies and all were incredible. Our favorite ended up being spinach and the mushroom had an interesting green sauce that paired so well with the slice! I'll definitely try to make my way here more often cause Lucia knows what they're doing!

A solid slice. This probably has one of my favorite sauces in the city! Knocking off 1 star because of the price and space - nearly $7 for 1 slice is pricey but tbh it's worth coming here at least once to check it out. The crust was a little burnt but that's to be expected for a thin slice. There's barely any standing room so def plan on taking it to go or eating in the corner standing up.

As someone who's been Lucia of Avenue X, I was happy to hear that Lucia had a new location. I loved the mushroom slice I had when I was there and remembered in particular the good crust more than anything else. The cheese was also excellent there and the sauce had a good hint of sweetness without too much. I was in short looking forward to having a similar experience here but I would say, this location has more faults. By comparison, this location is a lot smaller seating a whole lot less people and is definitely more for takeout though there were a ton of people taking out at their other location. The slices here are a bit pricey (especially the specialty slices) but you can compare them in terms of quality to some of the other better pizza slices so they honestly kind of match. The best pizza here is the Plain one. The plain is excellent showcasing their delicious tomato sauce and cheese and the stellar crust which is similar at both locations. If you have to get a topping, the pepperoni slices are very tasty and there is a spicier version of said pepperoni slice which I've heard is excellent also. Outside of this, I have some issues. My biggest issue here is that they replaced what was my favorite slice at the other location with my least favorite slice. As noted, I loved the mushroom slice at the other spot and here instead they have a Poblano slice. I like poblano peppers but it just really doesn't work here. The soft poblanos are fine on top but there is a pretty terrible poblano sauce on top. It just left a soupy texture on top reminding me of Artichoke Basille's and as I'm not a big fan of their slices at all, I wasn't a big fan of this outside of the crust being better and the cheese being a lot better than at Artichoke. Speaking of said bad pizzeria, their Creamed Spinach slice has been promoted on Eater and Infatuation and stuff also reminded me of Artichoke though a much better version by comparison. The few layers of creamed spinach on top of the white pizza is a whole lot better though I think it would go better with tomato sauce also (maybe it would be too gloopy so who knows.) It is a solid slice and good if you want something more unique here but as noted, I would stick with the plain or pay extra and get a mushroom slice.I find this pizzeria both easy and difficult to recommend. Their specialty slices aren't that particularly good but the pizza quality itself is so good that I would still recommend it and it's leaps and bounds ahead of every other pizza place in the surrounding area. If they were located in let's say the West Village nearby John's and Bleecker and such, I probably wouldn't recommend this place as much but as they are in a pizza desert, I probably leave them with a 3 (compared to the five at the other location) but because of this, they get a 4. Just avoid the poblano like the plague

This was my second time stopping at Lucia of SoHo, and I'd say the experience was similarly decent as my first visit. This time I ordered a white slice and a pepperoni. There was no wait, so the slices came out of the oven within a minute or two. For the slices themselves, I really wanted to love them. I'm not a huge fan of whatever garnish or herbs they put on the white slice. It adds a texture that I'm not really interested in, and you kind find bits of them remaining in your mouth and teeth for several minutes after eating. The pepperoni slice was better overall. The sauce had a nice flavor, and the cheese, sauce, topping ratio was ideal. Both slices were thin and crispy. All in all, this is a good stop for a quick NY slice. I'd probably skip it if there was a long line.

I popped in here on my way to an appointment and I am very glad I did! I could smell the aroma of pizza down the street, and it led me to this tiny pizza shop, which happens to crank out amazing pizza. There's nowhere to sit, but has some standing counter space, so I suggest either taking your pizza to go or eating it at the counter if you're really hungry. I ordered a regular cheese slice and it was delicious--thin and crispy on the bottom with a lovely basil leaf on the top of the slice. The service was quick and friendly and I would definitely come back here again!
