Grass-Fed Hanger Steak
Mezze Rigatoni, Tonnarelli Cacio E Pepe (in the background)
Do not order this. Ours was waaaayyyy too salty. We barely touched it and complained to the server, but they still charged us for it.
The Rigatoni was a solid choice. If you end up with leftover ricotta like we did, feel free to add more ricotta to the dish. No judging.

Good but not great! We tried Locanda Verde with very high expectations given its fame combined with our passion for Italian food. - The ambiance is very nice - and the place was quite full even though this was lunchtime on a random Thursday. - The menu lunch menu was limited in respect to their full menu however they still covered quite a bit of the basics for an Italian trattoria which was a plus. - They have quite an extensive wine by glass list that include some really good Italian wines which I always appreciate !- The eggplant crostini was delicious- even though quite simple. Good start to the meal. - The fusilli giganti with pesto, stracciatellla and pinoli that I had were quite good but not mind blowing , and needed either another touch of cheese or a bit more salt. - My husband had the mezze maniche with veal ragu and his comment was quite similar: it was good - but not a 'wow' dish. - service was decent - however , some of the tables seem to be positioned wrong since the staff had to try quite hard to navigate and pass through especially to access corner tables. Overall, would we go back? Probably at some point, if we have plans around tribeca for before or after the meal. But we also would not go out of our way for it since it is not that special . It's not a Cipriani or Carbone - and - the city has many similar restaurants- (although I should also add that the price point is very fair in respect to its competitors!)

Sadly disappointed. We loved the HY location so came here hoping for a similar experience. We ordered the green Caesar salad, which we had before, and it was fabulous again. Loved the basil dressing. But we tried a bunch of new dishes and didn't really love any of them:- sheep's milk ricotta crostini: didn't understand all the rave reviews for this as I didn't find it anything special - AC's half roasted chicken: the wing was decently good but most of it was breast/dry white meat that wasn't very good- spaghetti with clams: the wine wasn't cooked down enough and came off too strong, but the pasta was otherwise cooked well - tiramisu: this is usually our favorite but this was very disappointing. There were barely any lady fingers the espresso was far too coarse and strong. As for wine, I enjoyed the Verdicchio but not the Pecorino. They do have a private dining room that we were hoping to check out and book for an event but it was occupied (the HY location does not have a private dining room option).

{Overall: 3.5; Food: 3.5} Atmosphere: 4; Service: 4I have mixed feelings about Locanda Verde. While I want to love it, my experiences here have been inconsistent. One meal I had was impressive, while the other was lackluster. The inconsistency makes me hesitant about going back again. In my most recent visit, I had two pastas (Mezzi Rigatoni and Chitarra Nero), both of which were somewhat limp and lacking in flavor. The tiramisu was fine, but nothing to write home about. The ambience is nice and dimly lit. Locanda Verde continues to be an incredibly popular restaurant so it's always busy and hard to get a table unless you have a reservation. The service is good.

This restaurant get 3 stars mostly because of the service. The food was perfectly enjoyable, albeit somewhat forgettable. We came on a Sunday night and had a 5:45 reservation. I did have to contact them to inform them, that two in our party (of 5) were running late, which they were very kind about and said it would not be an issue. The host stand did not make it at all an issue and were very good about keeping a table for us. We ultimately had the party of 3 sit down and place our orders for everyone at because we had tickets to something at 8 and did not want to worry about being rushed and to allow plenty of time.We started with the Ricotta appetizer which was good. It truly was just ricotta and some sea salt and bread, so if you were looking for something a little more adventurous, this isn't that. Still, it was perfectly nice. They brought us 4 pieces of bread, so we asked if they could bring another as we were a party of 5, and they brought another plate of bread, which was nice. Our table got the Fusilli Giganti with the pesto, the Pumpkin Ravioli, the Rigatoni with veal bolognese, the scallops, and NY Strip. The food took quite a while to get delivered to the table (about 45 minutes). During that time, we were mostly left alone by the servers. The restaurant was busy so we understood that they were not stopping by as often, but we had to get up to get someone to come over so we could order some more drinks. When they started to bring the entrees, we asked our server to please bring the check as we had tickets and wanted to leave shortly after we finished eating. He understood we were in a hurry and said that was not a problem and he would bring it over. 4 of the 5 entrees came in quick succession and then we had about another 10 minutes before someone came by and we could tell them we were missing an entree. Our server finally brought the 5th entree and I reminded him about the check, which he eventually brought over.Overall, the service was not great. Especially for the price point, as the pasta dishes are all in the high $20-30s, the main entrees are in the $40s-50s. The staff was nice enough. No one was rude, but they were also completely inattentive. Multiple times we attempted to get anyone's attention and couldn't even manage to catch anyone's eye or flag anyone down. It was absolutely crowded in there, so I understood to an extent, but the feeling I was getting was that the staff was intentionally avoiding being flagged down (we were somewhat in a corner so I can't say if it was just our bad luck that our corner area was somewhat overlooked or if this was overall in the entire restaurant). The food was nice, but as I said before, forgettable. I have nothing specifically bad to say. The steak may have been slightly overcooked, but nothing disastrous (and while I feel confident they would have made a new one had we asked, we really weren't sure if we would have the time to wait for a new steak with how long it was all taking). The veal bolognese was my favorite of the pasta dishes that we ordered, and the fusilli and rigatoni were nice sized dishes.Would I go back? Perhaps it was an off night for service. There wasn't anything so reprehensible and I felt like on a slower night or perhaps in a different section of the restaurant it might be more enjoyable and better service. That being said, for the price point of this restaurant, the kind of service we had, in conjunction with the food being simply nice, made this a place I'm not sure I would want to try again, as neither the level of service nor the food was worth the price point.

My coworkers and I went during lunch hour and the place was soon bustling with executives which was a good sign. The hostess was friendly and the servers were polite. The food however did not meet our expectations for the cost of each dish. The mezzi rigatoni with white veal were undercooked/too firm and not al dente which took away from the flavor of the dish and unfortunately difficult to finish. The flavor of the 6 thin pumpkin ravioli were not worth the price of $32 and left my coworkers still hungry. The star of our meal was the sheep's milk ricotta appetizer and the bread. The ricotta is imported from Italy which I am quite familiar with the taste and the bread is airy and very light. I give the appetizer 5 gold stars. Overall 3 stars as price of pasta dishes outweighed flavor, texture and satisfaction.

I loved everything about Locanda Verde, minus the small portion sizes. I can deal with damn near anything the universe throws at me but small portion sizes. I truly am god's strongest soldier.I've lived in New York long enough to be conditioned to pay between $25-$40 for a plate of pasta and not bat an eye, but when the Grandmother's Ravioli ($33) and Rigatoni ($36) came I immediately knew I would have to go home and make myself a 2nd dinner. These small plates of pasta were on brand with the tiny lamb sliders ($16) and steak tartare ($29) we got for appetizers... "What is this.. a dinner for ants?!"This being said, the quality of everything was HIGH level. Phenomenal. Sensational. Legitimately some of the best pasta I've had in the city. That Steak Tartare went NUTS too. Bite for bite, I'm putting Locanda Verde up against all the heavyweights... you just don't get that many bites ahahaha. My buddy's girlfriend always chirps me because she actually prefers small portion sizes when going out to eat. My soul has never disagreed with something so vehemently, but it is good to know somebody else's perspective on life can be so drastically different than mine. Kind of cool, honestly. Civil discourse is so important to push society forward and live in harmony with one another.I will absolutely be back, but will have a big snack session before my next visit. I also need to get to Tribeca more. It is like what Soho used to be before Soho became Times Square...IG @jnov_Tiktok @jnov_reviews

We went here for Christmas Eve dinner and it was fantastic! The service was excellent and the food scrumptious! We had the radicchio salad, arugula salad, rigatoni, scallops, mixed seafood dish and the mushroom truffle fettuccine which was the best dish on the table, but all were delicious! We also had the sides of potatoes (soo good), broccoli rabe and Brussels sprouts caramelized to perfection! Dessert included the pumpkin tart, eggnog gelato and the tiramisu. ( The best tiramisu we have ever had). The other aspect that made the night even more delightful was the ambiance of the restaurant! Beautifully lit, warm and although packed, we could easily carry on a conversation around the table and hear each other. An all over amazing experience!

TOP LINE: DO NOT come to this terrible establishment. If I could give this spot 0 stars, I would. I would like to caveat this review, by saying that this review is solely a negative review on the service. From the moment we sat down, I was getting some vibes that we were being looked down on by our server Paola. We ordered two pastas and a broccoli rabe, but she kept asking if we were going to order more. Fast forward to the main meal... it took them 45 minutes to deliver our two pastas when others had already FINISHED their meal. Ridiculous. How could a restaurant that is charging $30-$40 a dish have such bad service! Midway, I thought about getting up and leaving because we were so hungry. They also completely ignored my girlfriend when she tried to bring up the delay in food. The pasta itself was small and unimpressive. For a price this high, I could easily go literally anywhere else and get two pastas. -1000/10. Avoid this overpriced and poorly staffed restaurant.

Have truly never had a meal like this! Everything was decadent and delicious... Mariah hooked it up with a great table while Cornelia and Jason made sure were taken care of throughout the meal. Special shoutout to Stanley for the best Cosmo I've ever had and it was at his recommendation that we even came in the first place - a great decision. Truly a night to remember.
