My friend was craving a hero so we headed to Lioni during our lunch break. Once we walked in, the aromas got us hungry. My friends ordered #54 and boy, was he super happy. He didn't intend to eat the entire hero (it was more than a foot long!) but wolfed it down because it was so darn good. And that bad boy was definitely fresh - I could see the steam rising while my friend was eating his hero. As for myself, I got the prosciutto and cheese rice balls. Though they were small, they were filling and packed a lot of flavor!I had to take off a star for slow service but other than that, food was bomb!

The menu is extremely long and confusing - took me a while to decide what to order. This is a takeout spot. I got a sandwich with roast beef and American cheese; it was gigantic and delicious. Easily two meals worth of food.

Just another extension to the original location in Bensonhurst. Missing the Imported goods but if you're closer to the Sunset area and are craving for a Lioni sandwich it's not a bad option.

I ordered two sandwiches online - #4 and #15 (#15 was well liked so I decided on that). Mainly, I wanted to try sandwiches with mozzarella. Food came nicely packaged and the sandwich was huge! Half a sandwich easily fills me up for a meal. I didn't enjoy #15 with the honey turkey that much, wasn't a big fan of the turkey. I did enjoy #4 with the mozzarella and basil. At first, I thought the sandwiches were kind of pricey but after seeing the huge portion, I guess it's not too bad. About $17-22 for sandwiches with meat and no meat about $12-14. I ate the sandwiches next day and also froze them which was not bad just a little soggy after. Overall: pretty decent sandwiches, good portion size. I wouldn't say it's the best sandwich I've ever had but I'm down to try some of their other sandwiches (especially something with chicken or eggplant).

I popped in to Lioni to purchase a sandwich. They have over 100 varieties and making a choice was difficult. I chose the Paul Sorvino and then I waited, waited, and waited. Twenty minutes later I had a sandwich. The Paul Sorvino has Sausage and Broccoli Rape. The Sausage was subpar, and the Broccoli Rape was undercooked. $18 for a sandwich? Is everybody in Sunset rich?

I've been here a few times, and today I came here for a fresh mozzarella and tomato sandwich. It ended up costing $12 when the price list said $11, but whatever maybe it's bidenflation. I was a little disappointed with the sandwich because the mozzarella was cold and possibly not fresh. Even the tomatoes were cut super thin. I want that fresh warm salty mozzarella on a sandwich with thick cut tomatoes. I'll give it another shot because I've had sandwiches from this spot previously, and they were good. Pay cash and save.

Some of the best heroes in Sunset Park. Soo many options to choose from and the ingredients are always so fresh. Sandwiches are huge too so the cost definitely feels justified

It's true - there are just too many sandwich options (over 100). So much so, I wanted a spreadsheet. I arrive and I instantly want to retreat to my mind palace and do a filter on mozzarella (because this is what they're marketing) and hot (because I'm a fan of hot sammies). Truth be told having a celebrity's name tied to a sandwich is neat but I prefer to let the ingredients speak to me. Alas, I simply jumped to the first sandwich I saw - #6 THE JOE DiMAGGIO "This is a BIG HIT" which had turkey (I could eat healthier) and mozz - $17 (after tax with a credit card, less if with cash). It was a decent hero, good bread (though I wish it was seeded). Large enough to share, but just a bit dry. I'll give it another shot, after some more research into the menu next time before I visit.

Ordered the alyssa milano with oil and vinegar and the sandwich came with mayonnaise. Needless to say I refused it and walked out after waiting 15 minutes for the sandwich and there was no one else in the place besides me. NEVER AGAIN!

The sandwiches are amazing and definitely a must-try from the menu. They're huge, a bit pricey, but absolutely worth it. My only suggestion is for the workers to greet customers, as we were a little confused at first and didn't realize we were supposed to order by number. There's a lot to choose from, but the sandwiches are fantastic and perfect for sharing! Atmosphere is small but was okay to eat in.
