Limelight Coal Brick Oven Pizza was a first time experience for me. It was previously Grimaldis Pizza and going back even farther in time, it was a club (known as Limelight) in the 80s and 90s. Since 2010, it had been a marketplace and even a David Barton gym. Then came Grimaldis for a while. For those familiar, Limelight Pizza's location was a former Episcopalian Church. To date, the exterior is still the church facade.Reading reviews here, it seems Limelight Pizza's Yelp account includes Grimaldis reviews which is unfortunate since it contributes to the overall rating which is average.Though I never tried Grimaldis Pizza at this location, I can attest that Limelight Pizza was one of the best pies I've had in 2024. Nothing average about it. The space was smallish but quaint. Our server (the only server) was friendly, cordial and extremely nice. We placed an order for a regular Margarita pie and Diet Coke. A regular suits two people with 6 slices. There were options for a personal pie (4 slices) and large (8 slices) and priced accordingly. Our size was $29.In about no time, the pizza arrived to the table looking and smelling delicious. Fresh mozzarella, well balanced sauce and a perfect crust resulted in a wow factor to be added to my list when in the area. This business doesn't serve slices since it is a restaurant with table service. Note--no alcohol on the menu.Really good pizza that I'd recommend. Actually, heavenly.

If you're looking for good pizza, look no further. Their pizza is outstanding! The ingredients are fresh, the tomato sauce is delicious - not overly sour nor overly sweet, the cheese is excellent, and the crust is very good! The staff are always friendly and polite. Service is fast and regular. You can sit at their small bar near the entrance or opt for table sitting which is provided both inside and outside (covered patio area). The interior is decorated with New York memorabilia and oftentimes you'll hear Dean Martin or Frank Sinatra music playing in the background. It's a very comfortable place to relax and enjoy a great meal. I signed up to be a Rewards Member several visits ago. Once a member, then you provide your Member ID before payment with every dine-in or carry-out order to earn points towards rewards and exclusive member offers. Excellent food, exemplary service, and competitive pricing makes Grimaldi's a 5 Star dining experience.

I just had to step inside this pizzeria/old church. Amazing space . Through the restaurant they have bar and lounge. This just blew my mind as it was once a church. We were there just as they were opening and decided to have a pizza . The pizzas are amazing. The service is great . I would be interested to come back at night and see what this bar scene is all about. They were blasting authentic Frank Sinatra music. So good. New York baby.

Pizza is delicious, service very attentive, and the ambiance is very chill. I liked the artwork on the walls, and music was mellow. I would have liked a glass of wine with the pizza. However, the manager said they are working on a liquor license since they just opened two weeks ago. I recommend 2 thumbs up!

Great find while walking about. Housed in a gorgeous old church, this legendary pizza shop is where the old Limelight club used to be. Food was good and service was excellent. Shout out to Dinara who was attentive, kind and very helpful. It was enjoyable to chat with her while we were dining. I found a Vegan cheese pizza which was delicious (as with all Vegan food, it's a little pricier than it's dairy/meat counterparts). An overall enjoyable lunch, and fantastic break from all of the noise and bustle of NYC. Full service bar (only 1 kind of red wine and white wine, for those wine lovers out there).

A great place for NY style pizza. Excellent food and service. Obviously not the cheapest pizza option in the city, but a very good one indeed.

I wouldn't consider myself a pizza snob, but growing up in NYC has afforded me access to some of the best pizza in the country. As such, my standards are high - and there's no shortage of pizzerias in the city that strive to be the best. Grimaldi's wasn't specifically on my radar of places to try, though I vaguely know of the name - I'm sure it has swept across my Yelp feed at one time or was mentioned by one of my friends. Anyway, I was attending an after-work team building/engagement event with my colleagues and they ordered a ton of pizzas from Grimaldi's. Since I had never tried it before, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to see how they stacked up. Right from the jump, Grimaldi's was speaking to me - they specialize in thin crust pizza that's cooked brick-oven style. The consistency was really good, it had a crispy yet chewy crust with the right amount of thinness. I love thin-crust pizza, but the risk is that it gets cold too fast and then the experience is dampened. I didn't find that here - even after being out for a little while, the pizza held up. I was able to try a few of their varieties - one with pesto, one with meatball, and one with ricotta and red pepper. They were all really good - fresh, complementary flavors with minimal flop.Overall, I was really impressed with Grimaldi's; it's not the best slice I've had, but for a chain-esque establishment they served quality. If the circumstances found me having Grimaldi's again, I wouldn't be disappointed.

The pizza is amazing. The delivery meh.... For that reason I will never order from them again. The 4 stars are for food. The delivery person didn't call or ring my bell. Just left pizza in front of my door & ran away. Needless to say the pizza was COLD
