I was excited to come back to Lea after a great first experience with their pizza. This time, I went for brunch on a Sunday around 12:30 PM, craving those wood-fired pizza.I ordered two pizzas: the Margherita and the Kingpin. The Margherita came out first, and it looked delicious--plenty of tomato sauce (just how I like it!) with some mozzarella on top. But when I took a bite, I got a strong burnt taste. I checked the bottom, and sure enough, it was all charred, practically black. I ate it anyway because the toppings were still tasty, but I was pretty disappointed. Most of the slices were partially burnt, and there was quite a bit of oil pooling on top.The Kingpin pizza, with arugula, prosciutto, and tomato sauce, was better but still a little inconsistent. Some slices had sauce and cheese, and others didn't, which made for an uneven experience. The flavor was still good, but I wish it had the same attention to detail I'd seen the first time I came. Maybe it was just an off day?The vibe is casual here--you find your own seat, order at the counter, and a server brings your food to the table. The staff was really nice, but I noticed my chair had some cheese and crumbs I had to brush off. Not a huge deal, but it'd be nice to see a bit more attention to cleaning.Hoping next time when I come back the consistency would be better.

To start with the positives, I do like the proximity and the location. The drinks, though strangely not full, were tasty and strong. The seating was cool. Service was good and relatively quick. The young man at the counter was lovely and personable. I never want to walk away from a restaurant saying I could have made this myself. And I could have made it myself with the sandwiches. They were just ok. Can I get a salad on the side? A pickle? Warmth? I won't be back.

This place is literally so cute! I loved dining here but it is quite pricey especially if you're ordering alcoholic drinks. My partner ordered two different drinks and it came in the size of a whiskey glass, so a bit small + had lots of ice + it was pricey. Apparently my partner barely felt any alcohol and it was more than $10 for each drink. The non alcoholic Arnold Parker I had was good though. I also ordered the kingping 12" pizza pie with arugula and prosciutto. The texture and crisp of the pizza was near perfect but it was severely lacking in tomato sauce. They really did not want to drench the pizza at all! As a result it lacked flavor and an oomph factor to the pizza. There really wasn't much service either and you need to tip at the beginning. The restaurant also had a ton of what looked like good pastry options and cakes, fresh pasta to buy, many drink options, cheese, and canned fish! Overall a cool spot that I would revisit.

Ordered pizza for delivery. Delicious. Used nice olives and crust was perfect fluffy/crusty. I've heard it's not always available so consistency is maybe an issue. I've had not great experiences here but delivery was really great.

Food: I had the catch of the day, which was branzino with sautéed kale atop what I believe might have been a cauliflower or chicpea puree. I loved the well-balanced flavors and the crisp of the fish skin. The fish was slightly overcooked but nothing to complain about, it might just be a matter of preference. My friend had a grilled cesar salad. It was oversaturated with cheese and sauce, making the lettuce soggy and not enjoyable. I also had an aperol Spritz, which is pretty good.Service: Quick and friendly.Ambiance: Nothing spectacular. Casual outdoor seating. Good for family and friends wanting a quick bite. Note: They have one small oscillating fan outdoor, which might only keep you cool if you're sitting next to it, so you might not want to go on a humid scorching summer day. Good thing they have their ice cream store across the street where you can grab a treat to stay cool.Summary: 3 stars because I felt the one slice of branzino (not the whole fish) for $28 was overpriced, particularly for that neighborhood. The soggy salad was also a no for me. I'd return for the drinks, fish, and service.

Came here with some friends after work. This is a nice spot. We ordered a wood fired kingpin pizza, some fries, and a salad to all share. The pizza was great. We all loved the taste of it. Specifically, this one had some great toppings on it. Both the fries and salad were nice sides to pick on, while we just hung out and enjoyed our pizza. We had a fun time here.

One of my go to coffee shops in the area. The indoor/outdoor patio is well behaved dog friendly, coffees are consistent and they make a good lox bagel! It's important to note that they don't have any coffee flavorings and only offer simple syrup- this is almost always an issue when I bring people along. Love the vibes and they had a board noting live music so the vibes are definitely it.

It is 1,5 stars. But there is no this option.Just do not go! The neighborhood has many better places with friendly staff, clean, and better prices. This place used to be much better before the fire and the renovation, and I used to love it. This spring, they have reopened with crazy prices and so many disappointments concerning their operations, food choices, prices, and cleanliness of the place. My biggest issue is the latter one. Everything else is pretty doable, but if you set high prices, make sure to maintain the standard.AMBIENCEMy big issue: the place is dirty.FirstThey have built a terrace adjacent to the main entrance, and it's DIRTY. The dust is all over the sitting, and it has not been wiped out for months (the dust is a normal thing because we are on the street, but in my understanding, the place needs to be wiped out at least twice: when they open & when the close). The air fans are covered in dust, they bring you food, and the dust is flying all over. Another thing, "the terrace" does not have flooring, it is just the asphalt, and it is always dirty, with pieces of pizza, salad, and other trash.SecondThe place where you pick up your coffee is always dirty as well. They do not have small trash over there; it quickly gets dirty, and no one wipes out anything.ThirdThey have two trash bins inside, and they are always covered in dirt. That's revolting!!!!FourThe water bottles with tap water are dirty, and some of them have mold. And the salt and pepper that they put on the tables are disgusting. They are all dirty, and I opened one salt once, and some leftover food fell out. EwwwwwwwSTAFFPeople who work are untrained and unprofessional, and some of them are rude. There is one guy who is exceptionally kind and friendly, but he has no idea of the menu, and the rest of the staff is just rude without any courtesy & unprofessional. Perhaps the owner does not pay reasonable money.FOODSweet Lea used to have one of the most amazing croissants in the area, then they either changed their chef or their recipe, and their croissants became typical American bakery. Atm, Madeline offers way better croissants. How ironical. The focaccia has not been fresh lately. I tend to ask if it is fresh, and they say, "Yes, it is as of today." And the three last times I took it, it tasted like it was at a window for three days. The desserts that they offer are good but rather pricey.Caesar salad is terrible! The dressing was not Caesar; the greens were old, like there were in the fridge for five days, and the cheese was not good quality.I have tried savoy cabbage. Ewwwwww, that wasn't very good. It is very hard to spoil cabbage, and they did it; as if someone had chewed it before. That totally can work for older people who have no teeth. hahahahOn a good note, my friends do love fish burgers and toast with eggs.PRICESThey have unfriendly prices. Let's be honest last six months, everywhere in New York the prices have been rather unfriendly, but for a Brooklyn place that's local, with a very limited menu and what they offer in general - the prices are too high.I have had two encounters where one price is listed, and they ring a higher price. That was for a desert and olives. So always pay attention. And instead of making it right, the rude guy told me he did not care. That's what he had in the registry.Just for you to get an idea: a salad, a fish burger, two coffees, a croissant ~ $50.The good things that they have:- the location on Cortelyou Rd- some selection of desserts- tasty pizza- rather good coffee- very-very tasty fresh breadThe place has so much more potential! I wish it becomes much better.

Lea's finally back after a year of renos! We swung by Saturday afternoon and tried as much as we could, from the sandwiches to the new square slices. The mozz & pesto baguette ($10) was tasty but the bread was a bit too hard. I enjoyed the challah & egg salad sandwich ($11) a lot better - the challah just melts in your mouth! The square slices (~$5 each) were pretty good, but I'm excited to return for dinner sometime soon for their thin round pizzas - I've missed them so!

I ordered delivery from Lea, two pizzas and a salad. The food arrived ice cold, like it was sitting outside on a winter night for a few hours. The pepperoni pizza had 8 nickel size pepperonis and very little cheese, very cheap made. I called Lea to let them know that the food arrived ice cold. The guy who answered the phone said " so what do you want me to do about it?" He said it with a very bad ATTITUDE, he should not be representing your restaurant, Lea. I said " you should've just apologize ". We have been going to Lea for more than 12 years so I am very disappointed that it has to end this way. Bad food, poor customer service.
