The service and atmosphere were great!!!! The presentation and food looked really good so I was expecting delicious food. But everything was super salty. Our entire party drank water with every bite because all the dishes were so salty. The atmosphere and vibe here makes me want to visit again. But the kitchen definitely needs to tone down the amount of seasoning.

*** UPDATE***. Management has reached out to me and we have addressed the issue. I will return and give them an opportunity to change some of the things that were discussed in conversation. I'll update my review once we follow up with restaurant.Decided to come here for Valentine's Day. They had a 5 course meal that was very goodand the table service was top notch. So.... Why the low rating. I sent in a complaint to management about an issue I had upon leaving the restaurant. I did a coat check. With my coats, I left little shopping bag. When it was time to leave I got my 2 coats, but no shopping bag. 5 minutes, 10 minutes, at this point I can see the women staff member tearing apart the coat room. Obviously she had misplaced the bag. So we wait and wait. Finally she comes out. Doesn't address us. She moves on to help others that now needed to claim items. Now we are upset. My wife goes up to her and ask her about the bag. She now invites my wife to come into the room and look for herself. My wife found it. This whole episode took about 20 minutes, but wait. We now missed the train and add 40 more minutes to it. Bad way to leave a $700+ dollar meal.

Had my eye on this place for a while because I'm a big fan of Daniel Boulud. My boyfriend and I celebrated our anniversary here in January 2025 and both did the 3-course pre fixe. I tried:+ Saturnino herran cocktail - this was like an okay margarita, wouldn't recommend + Relevé cocktail - this was like a very good whiskey sour, would recommend + Poulpe / octopus - highlight #1+ bucatini / crab - good+ Boeuf / striploin - highlight #2+ Fletan / halibut - good + Kaki / creme brûlée - amazing, except for the weird dry biscuit thing it came with + noisette - fineIt was more than enough food... I just wish it were slightly better. Overall I'd say the food is a 4, and +.5 for service, which was excellent. Both Daniel and Boulud Sud (rip) had better food in my memory, and this place is not quite it. 4.5 stars.

Another restaurant week spot. I was really excited for this one because I have been craving French food and it's affiliated with Chef Daniel Boulud. The interior was stunning, the high ceiling and greenery. But ... I think it's a ima only check it out once kind of spot for me, especially for that price point. (Maybe it's because my anticipation was too high) Unfortunately, I wasn't that impressed by the food. But the presentation was beautiful! What we ordered:Complimentary: bread and French butterAppetizers: Duck ConsommeEntree:Braised Short RibsGrilled Black Sea BassDessert:Lemon TartBlack Forest

Just a fantastic experience - beautiful venue with floor to ceiling windows in the building across the street from the SW corner of Grand Central. The format is prix fixe at $145 per person (3 courses) and everything we had was beautifully done. Impressive wine cellar to match. Wines were expertly paired (though late to arrive on one course, which unfortunately made my scallops a bit cold once it arrived. Staff were superbly trained, accessible and friendly, and attentive. Highly recommend and look forward to returning.

Fabulous dinning experience! Ambiance is beautiful, I love the garden feel throughout the restaurant. Service is great, the staff were welcoming with fun personalities. Food was divine. My friends and I did the 3 course experience. Portions were big for fine dining! We left FULL! Oysters were beautifully presented, cooked perfectly and the parsley breading on top was full of flavor. Octopus was so damn good! Halibut was flaky, and served in the most delicious broth. My friends loved their steak. Lobster was also really good, however if I had to choose again I would have gotten the halibut. All the desserts were delicious!

Le Pavillon has a very beautiful space, great ambiance, and tasty food! We visited for my boyfriend's birthday and were excited for a fantastic evening. However, there was a bit of a mix-up upon arrival. It was a bit disappointing. It seemed the staff didn't read the notes about the occasion and our preferred seating near the garden under the reservation--there was no birthday acknowledgment from the receptionist or hostess, and we were initially seated at a less desirable table. We also didn't receive a congratulatory postcard, which I had expected after reading about it in other reviews. Fortunately, the manager quickly accommodated us and moved us to a lovely table near the garden. We chose the 3-course experience, selecting one dish from the sea and one from the land for each course. The meal started with a delicious bread basket and a flavorful amuse-bouche (complimentary).First course: * Whole quail - perfectly roasted and paired with sweet, nutty kabocha squash, this was my favorite dish, and we were both so happy with it. * Grilled octopus with crushed yukon potatoes - was so good! The flavors were amazing and well-balanced.Main course: * Scallops baked in the shell - beautifully presented, and each bite was absolutely fantastic.* Roasted striploin with a mushroom "strudel" - absolutely delicious, another favorite! The kitchen kindly split the plate for us, which made it easy to share. Dessert:* KAKI --a crème brûlée with persimmon compote, bourbon ice cream, and maple fudge. * NOISETTE - a chocolate mousse with praline croustillant and hazelnut nougatine. We also received complimentary miniature profiteroles, and all the desserts were amazing. As for drinks, we started with a glass of sparkling champagne and then had a bottle of wine that our server recommended. The wine paired nicely with our food, and it was served at the perfect temperature.Overall, the service was nice and well-paced, and the portions were generous--we left completely full! I do wish we had received a more personal touch to make the occasion feel extra special, but the quality, flavors, and execution of every dish left a lasting impression

"Be honest - would you kiss Daniel Bolud on the lips??""He's a lot older than me... and surely wouldn't be into some lower-mid level finance guy" "Age and experience set aside, WOULD YOU kiss Daniel Bolud on the lips??""I'll answer that after I eat at one of his restaurants"Believe it or not, this is a real conversation I had with a friend before coming to Le Pavillon. She, rightfully so, is obsessed with Bolud's culinary empire. For someone who has had the privilege to dine at some of New York's headliner fine dining establishments - I've never eaten at a Daniel Bolud restaurant - and I blame myself for that. I decided to break in the later half of my 20s at Le Pavillon after hearing raving reviews posted online.I went into Le Pavillon with a completely open mind and a few close relatives. I figured that the minute I turned 26, I wouldn't want a bunch of my friends around because it would have probably ended up being a vodka infused cesspool of peer induced pity.I ended up adding the caviar service on top of the regular prix fixe menu. Great choice!! I would have kissed Daniel Bolud firmly on the lips after sampling his caviar and blini service. Absolutely love the inclusion of classical caviar service elements in an elevated setting. It set the tone for the rest of the meal - modernist interpretations of impeccably prepared French classics. And it's good!!! The amuse bouche was perplexing in the best way possible. The onion tart was well worth ceding a meat forward appetizer for. The main course came with two perfectly executed surprise courses each incorporating the main protein. The dessert complete with chocolate tuile almost made me faint in a fit of passionate exuberance. While I'm surely not Bolud's type, after that meal I would have kissed him firmly on the lips. Bolud - I look forward to trying Daniel in the near future and you won't have to worry about me barging back in the kitchen and making my move. I'll let you focus on what you do best!!
