A must visit for some authentic Asian food experience.Came here for a dinner with a friend and the place was jam packed. Being a very small place the only qualm I have is the tables are small and really close to each other .Coming to the food , started with a Tandoori Satay and it was flavorful , perfectly grilled and the Indian tandoori flavor was really nice . I wish they provided a dip with that .The butter garlic came in next and was bursting with flavors of curry leaves and butter , the soft shell crab was delicious.For entree, we had the Nasi Lemak which is a Malaysian platter with a portion of Chicken Rendang, Shrimp , pickles and the best rice I've ever had thr Coconut rice . It was truly a filling meal and I've earmarked the rendang as something I'm ordering next time I'm here .We also had the Asam Laksa which is one of the most unique things I've had . The noodle soup is flavorful , Tangy , fishy but absolutely delicious if you love sardines. I would say if you like seafood and tangy food you can try this one .Overall a great meal and would definitely want to be back to try some more soon.

This was our first dinner out during our trip to NYC, and since we love Malaysian food, Laut was our preferred choice. We ordered several dishes: papaya salad, roti canai, curry laksa, pad see ew, and chili crab. Everything so delicious!The roti canai was soft, chewy, and slightly sweet, and the curry sauce on the side was flavorful. The papaya salad was fresh and had a nice balance of sweet and sour flavors. The pad see ew came in a cool stainless steel wok and was packed with flavor.The chili crab was the highlight! It was sweet, tangy, and just the right amount of spicy. The crab pieces were crispy and super tasty, and the sauce was so good that we made sure to soak up every last bit with the fried bread and steamed rice. Recapturing my trip from Singapore with their signature chili crab dish. This soft shell crab was exact in texture as I remembered when going to the country's crab restaurants. You can't enjoy this dish without expecting a big kick from it. I had this with the coconut rice and it was a nice fusion of sweet and savory. Even their bok choy dishes were cooked right with that veggie crunch. This place has been on my list since my trip there and I would love to come back to try their other appetizers on an empty stomach. Because once you finish the signature crab off their checklist, gotta make room for the others to capture the Hakka style essence. Service was really good here and very attentive. My hostess and I also connected about board games too because this meal was prep before hopping to the board games too cafe not to far. Delightful conversation before a pleasant meal is always a great add to the evening

Super cute restaurant with flavorful food, I ordered the sambal belacan and it was great! Lots of flavors and just the right amount of meat, and the coconut rice was perfect. I also had some of the calamari, and the seasoning on top was SO GOOD. We also split the mango sticky rice which was alright, though I would probably pass on it if I came back. Service was good and the portions were fair for the price.

Our group ordered the char kway teow, laksa, satay chicken, and roti canai. Everything was so good.Favorite dish was definitely the satay chicken! I wanted to eat more and more of it and love a good peanut sauce. Second fav was the char kway teow which was very flavorful and good texture in the noodles. And laksa was an almost 2nd. I'm pretty picky with laksa because it can be really heavy but I was very satisfied with the flavor and noodle texture. The broth was good too! Roti canai was solid with a good peanut sauce but didn't stand out.LOVED THE TEH TARIK! A good sweet and tasty. I felt so cozy drinking itService was good being checked on pretty often. And the place itself is super cute and decorated in such a cute way. You just want to sit around and have a good convo there. Noise level was great for our 3-person group for catching up.

Came here for dinner with friends on Friday and it was really packed so you definitely need a reservation! The interior was very cozy and loud. The service was great. The food was pretty good. We got the roti canai and curry puffs to start. Both were tasty but I would definitely recommend the curry puffs! For mains, we got the ultimate curry laksa and night market noodles. I preferred the ultimate curry laksa as the night market noodles tastes slightly bland. Overall, really great experience for a dinner out.

I enjoyed this meal but nothing really stood out to me about it. I believe this is the only Malaysian restaurant I've ever tried so can't comment on how it compares to other options just yet. Perhaps I just prefer Thai or Burmese curries, etc.Sorry this review isn't all that helpful. It's good, but I probably won't choose to return myself.

I was really looking forward to trying this place and had high hopes, but unfortunately, it fell short of my expectations.I started with the Roti Canai. The roti itself was nicely crispy and flaky, but the sauce it came with didn't work for me. The curry puffs were also underwhelming--definitely something I'd pass on next time.I was most excited to try the Singapore Crispy Soft-Shell Chili Crab, but it was a letdown. The dish was overly sweet and lacked the spicy kick I was hoping for, with a sauce that was too thick. Even the Thai iced tea was just average. Overall, I wouldn't recommend this spot.
