A charming Italian restaurant with a superb menu. LaRina is cozily decorated with green plants and wine bottles of varying sizes. Adding to the warm vibe is a pleasantly funky soundtrack featuring Parcels, Jungle, and Khruangbin. We received excellent service and were taken care of at every moment during our meal. The food here is outstanding. I like to pair a salad with my pasta and ordered the Insalata: little gem lettuce, dollops of pecorino cheese, spicy breadcrumbs. For pasta I ordered Smoked Spaghetti Aglio & Olio: garlic, Calabrian chiles, hazelnuts, which was cooked to a perfect al dente. I couldn't take a picture of the tiramisu because it was so good we quickly ate it in a few bites. My wife and I celebrated our anniversary brunch here. We loved our experience and agreed LaRina is perfect for both a special occasion and an exquisite laid back meal.

Most underrated restaurant in... all of NYC?! It's in the perfect sweet spot right now of fully booked every night, yet you can still get a table. I'm almost hesitant to write this. First of all, this is better than +50% of the pasta I've had in Italy. I've spent the past two summers covering a lot of ground over there, so I'm pretty confident with this statement. I brought my friend from Torino and his wife and they agreed wholeheartedly and were pleasantly surprised to see many northern Italian dishes on the menu. I came because I'm a big fan of Chef Silvia, who was a contestant on Top Chef from the outskirts of Milan. I have to say, every single thing on this menu is spectacular. Order it all. The menu changes seasonally, but RUN DON'T STOP and get the cocoa (yes, as in chocolate) mezzelune ai funghi. There were 5 of us and everyone at the table agreed it was their favorite dish. The cocktails, wine, and service were all great too. Just a lovely, cozy, neighborhood vibe. And fun fact! The chef imports the flour from Italy, for all you gluten sensitive girlies who fare well in Italy where there's no Round Up. I'll be bringing many more people here.

The pastas are a dream!!!! I loved how unique they were. Instead of tomato or cream sauces, there were more broth based and even, dare I say wine gravies that felt hearty and booming with flavor! The energy here was so lovely too. It was comforting and chill and we got to take our time enjoying dish by dish. I would love to venture back here again, definitely would cross a bridge from Manhattan for this tastiness! Yummmmmmmmmy all the way!

Went with friends the other night because we had heard so much about this place. It did not disappoint. Not a huge menu but more than enough choices. We sat in the garden. That was really nice. Service was very good. Drinks were delicious and food was very good also. my husband absolutely loved his clam sauce and I think if I go back, that's what I would order. I got the poached fish which honestly was just OK. My friend and her husband enjoyed their entrées also of lasagna and another pasta dish. The octopus appetizer most definitely was one of the best that I've had. Would love to go back and try some more stuff.

Wow! Just finished eating dinner there, and walked out thoroughly pleased. Our server Sam was fantastic; he took his time walking us through the bottle list & made sure that we felt comfortable with what we were choosing. Starters were great, but the pastas were where the menu really shines. I often find it so hard to say "wow that pasta was amazing", but wow these pastas were amazing. Beef ragu tasted like someone's maternal figure made this for you for the first meal of winter. Interior was great--I love to see a shade of green that doesn't make me mad. Can't wait to come back for spring/summer.

Panna cotta - excellent. Squash - excellent.Vegetarian pasta - a bit garlicky for my taste. Meat ravioli - very good. I heard good things about the lasagna, but have not tired yet. Great date night vibes, especially in the heated enclosed back yard. Just like sitting in an urban garden. Reasonably priced too.

They almost earned themselves 3 stars for the wait but saved themselves with the food. For context, no we didnt have a reservation but were told that we only had to wait 15min and would get the next available seating outside. 35-40 minutes passed and I saw two tables come and go and new parties be sat...Saw an open table that was open for 5-10min and went to the host to point out the table. They finally sat us. Why did I have to be the one to tell them? Did they fully forget about us even though we stood 10ft away the whole time??Anyways... a sour start but a good end. Food was delicious but please do better on the service.

Greeted warmly by the hostess. Sat at a table outside, which was a little chilly on a spring night, but they turned the heater on for me. They do have an indoor seating area and a heated backyard, but nothing was available at the time.My server was a little overwhelmed, as he had the entire front-outside section, but he showed an understated kindness and was pretty attentive (had to wait a while for some of my drinks, but I don't think that was all his fault).I started with the crocchettes (croquettes), which were sumptuous. Made with cheddar, potato, asparagus, and saffron aioli, these were so cheesy, gooey, and delicious.I also got the special, which was an oyster mushroom served with a special sauce. It was light and satisfying. For my main course, I had the signature smoked spaghetti. You can tell it was made in house, and it was cooked perfectly. It was very good, but I wish I had gotten the rigatoni, which looked great on paper, and on the table next to me. Either way, this food is supposed to be Italian food made by Italians, so I'm sure you can't go wrong. For drinks: I accidentally got a well drink for my first drink, the Bianco Mezcal. It took me quite some time to get it, and I think it might have been left on the bar for a while. It was fine, but was not complex. My fault for not paying attention to the menu closely enough.I also had the mambo cabana (rum, Meyer lemon, italicus, green apple, genepy) and the person non grata (mezcal, pear, maraschino, cappelletti aperitivio, lime). Both were light, delicate, and refreshing, but I think I preferred the mezcal based drink. For desert, I had the lemon basil sorbet, and it rocked my world. Fresh, bursting with basil and lemon flavor, perfect end to the meal, ideal palate cleanser! Was it the best Italian I've ever had? Not necessarily. But the pasta was authentic and the dessert was amazing. Drinks were pretty good and made with Italian liquors and ingredients you might not find in other places.Would definitely go back again.

Overall, a wonderful dining experience. All four members of our party agreed that the ambiance, food and service were all top notch. Waiter Carlos was helpful and attentive. Being our first visit, he provided us gentle guidance (not pushy) and steered us to great wine and dinner choices. First up, the Pane e olio (sourdough and focaccia). Sourdough was good, but the light and airy focaccia was the favorite of ours. For our two appetizers we ordered the octopus and the fried eggplant. We enjoyed the octopus with its tender beans, but the eggplant was disappointing - very small portion of skinny little wedges which were too crunchy. Mains were all a hit. Lasagna was extra rich with spinach, bolognese & béchamel sauce. Smoked spaghetti was unique and had great flavors (a small likeness to a carbonara). My agnolotti del pin was absolutely delicious, with a wonderful sage sauce. We loved the back patio, and the place really filled up quick, so you should definitely make a reservation. If the experience wasn't so perfect, I'd drop one star due to the pricing, which we felt was a bit steep.
