Iced HK milk tea: it was lukewarm. Tastes like regular milk tea--not HK milk tea.Soup dumplings: definitely not homemade but rather steamed from frozen machine-made dumplings. You can skip it. Looked nothing like the picture on their wall. Sparerib steamed Chen Cun Fun: portion was huge--Not appetizer size but entree size. I think the Chen style steamed rice crepe is thinner and more translucent than regular cheung fun rice crepes. House special fried rice: Best dish and our favorite! Silver and gold refers to the egg yolk and egg white. There were some crispy rice and raisins in it. Will order this dish again. Restroom is in the back and you have to go down some steep stairs. Clean and roomy compared to other Chinatown restaurant bathrooms but only 1 gender neutral stall. Waitstaff were chatty but nice. Saw a lot of delivery service workers picking up orders. Takeout must be popular.I'd come back for the house special fried rice.

Extremely disappointed by the food quality of this place. First, it's in a very convenient location with a large space. Second the staff and waiter/waitress are friendly and makes you have the local feeling. This place has a lot of potential but sadly the food was not good. If you're going to charge me $20 for seafood lo mein I expect something more than just shrimp and 3 pieces of squid. The fish fillet congee was plain with no flavor. The steam chern fun was sad as well for $13, they don't even add enough soy sauce or flavor. Also where's the black beans with the spare ribs ? Every piece of spare rib was overally fat.

The spare ribs in the Chen fun is such a good deal. Like $12 for a huge platter that could honestly feed two without anything else. The spareribs are flavorful and soft. The noodles aren't too heavy, but need to be soaked in the sauce. The stuffed tofu was soft and had shrimp inside.

We were debating whether to have breakfast or lunch at 10 am on a Saturday. We were surprised to see that this restaurant is open. We walked in and saw no customer. The owner/manager lady was sitting, eating her food. She said lunch is available right now for typical dishes like fried rice or lo mein. While my parents were looking at the menu, I took pictures of the inside. The lady then said no pictures. I was a bit taken aback and asked why. She confronted me in a combative tone that she doesn't like it. We looked at each other and got the heck out of there. The way she treated prospective customers is totally appalling.

Came here after Monday night run club with a large group of around 16. They have plenty of seating and were able to seat us around 2 minutes after we came in. The rest of the restaurant was empty (Monday night an hour before closing.) The service was very kind and they were very patient with us.They have a good amount of vegetarian options. The vegetable dumplings weren't that great. there wasn't much filling and it wasn't very flavorful. I would recommend ordering the crispy tofu instead. It's fluffy on the inside - more of a simple taste. The rest of the table ordered meat dishes. They really liked the pork pan fried dumplings. It seems like the beef rice noodles were also a hit as well.Seems like this is a good choice for non-vegetarians. but if you are vegetarian and end up coming here order the crispy tofu!

The food and service was disappointing. The server kept trying to recommend dishes to us, but even after we said no, she put in an order for a dish that we did not order. She served it to us anyway, saying that she already put it in instead of giving us the correct order. We were at the large table at the far end near the kitchen, so the entire time we were eating, the 2 servers stood there and watched us eat. It was very uncomfortable, being watched the entire time. We also heard the staff zapping a bunch of flies with an electric fly swatter, which was pretty disturbing.The meats were overcooked and tasted tough, we had the cha sew pork and the beef steak. The soup was kind of bland. The only dishes we enjoyed were the fish fillet pot and the stuffed eggplant.

We had high expectations for their renowned rice crepe noodles, as their menu touted them as number one. However, our excitement turned into disappointment with the first bite. The taste resembled microwaved rice crepe noodles, which felt far from authentic. If you're considering trying this dish, I'd recommend looking elsewhere. The overall dining experience was underwhelming, to say the least. In fact, things were so disappointing that we didn't even bother taking pictures of the other dishes. It's a regrettable experience that I hope they can improve upon.

This was my second time here and it was excellent the first time and just as good if not better this time.Located on Hester just off of Mott. This small restaurant should not be missed. If you're looking for fresh, truly authentic Chinese food look no further.Shrimp with Asparagus was cooked perfectly. Large shrimp sit on top of a bed of crisp al dente asparagus . Dumplings are made to order and served all day long. The Shui Mai came 4 to an order and was a nice mixture of ground pork with hints of ginger. Service is excellent and the inside is spotless. Delicious, high quality food served in a comfortable casual atmosphere.
