With a wonderful location, friendly staff and decent selection of wines, La Pecora Bianca's UWS location should have no problem creating an enjoyable evening out... BUT, there's just enough not right to keep this from being a five star experience. We had the whipped ricotta starter, and our waiter was great at ensuring that our party of 3 had enough toasted bread to go around. Great ricotta, fantastic bread. The wine selection by the glass featured mostly younger Italian reds and some California whites that everyone could find a glass for their tastes. The standout dish was clearly the Campanelle pasta served al limone with shrimp. Outstanding in every way that want a pasta dish to be - fresh lemon, cream, a hint of chili flakes, and just enough cheese to bring everything together with a bed of wonderful pasta. The main dishes go downhill from there, unfortunately. While the salmon preparation looked amazing, the fish was a bit dry, and even more disappointingly, the bolognese on the tagliatelle was a thin, watery sauce (reminiscent of vodka sauce) with a small amount of meat thrown in after the fact (definitely not a ragu prepared by cooking down the tomatoes, herbs & meat). While there are a number of staff to help in the well appointed dining room, there isn't a lot of coordination between them to maintain consistency. We started with a bottle of sparkling water, and about halfway through our meal, that bottle disappeared, and our glasses (which still had sparkling water halfway in them) got refilled with still water. Not the worst thing in the world, but not a pleasant way to finish the meal. A bit more attention to the kitchen preparations and the staff coordination would bring this location into the top tier.

It was hard to make a reservation for 5 but the restaurant was mostly empty the entire time. Our appetizers came out in 5 minutes and our entrees in 10. Why were they serving so quickly when the restaurant was not busy? Our waiter was also humorless. The appetizers were good. We had frito misto , whipped ricotta and fried zucchini. The entrees were very forgettable. My son's $48 ribeye was a 5/10, kind of tough and lacking flavor. My salmon came out well done although I ordered medium rare. My other son liked his chicken parm. My daughter in law had the pumpkin ravioli. The sauce tasted like cream and only cream. My husband liked his pork chop. The olive oil cake was good. With so many choices in nyc we won't be back.

I have now been here twice. Both times I have forgotten to take pictures of food. It is a great option when you are going to the museum of natural history. My bf and I go to space talks about once a month and ended up going here after our last one in November.I think the location is really cute inside, decorated very nicely. The staff are all incredibly friendly, and service is really quick. We ended up getting the meatballs this last time, which I thought were delicious - loved dipping bread into the marinara sauce. I ended up going for the fish dish - which was amazing, I ate it so quickly it was gone before my bf looked up from his pasta haha he ended up getting cacio e pepe, he thought his pasta was not as good as it was the last time we were there. My bf also says the Negronis are great!

So I've been putting off actually trying the food in this restaurant until last night. Many people told me the food is delicious so we figured we'll go for it. The reason we haven't before is because every time we've walked in the door we are treated so poorly by the hosts there It's like they pick and choose who they allow in and it's quite arrogant and insulting last night we went in about 7 o'clock a little crowded not very we asked for a table for two we were told they didn't have any except at the bar wanting to try the food we said fine. We sat at the bar, lovely bartender Pasta was good however, many many tables remained open in the restaurant while we were sitting and eating at the bar, I find this very offputting that the hosts deliver service with such arrogance and snobbishness. I'm pretty sure we won't go back.

Really cute spot on the UWS, and great pastas. Nothing mind blowing but a solid spot for lunch/dinner and the tiramisu is really good. Service was fast and nice.

The UWS location of La Pecora Bianca is the real deal -- great food, good wine, and excellent service even with a packed crowd on a Friday night. The meatballs are a must, packed with savory flavor, complemented by a sauce that's zesty and light, with just a hint of spice. MI was equally impressed with the whipped ricotta, really light and subtly sweet, giving a nice balance to the meal overall. This dish might have quietly stole the show, I could have just eaten this and been happy. The pasta mains were top notch, really simple and well prepared -- they let the pasta speak for itself.Definitely a bit pricey, but you get a great meal for the price, definitely money well spent if you like quality Italian food.

Great service and great food. A tad too overpriced for portion, but nonetheless good.

Went here with my husband and friends after searching UWS for a good Italian restaurant. Luckily, I found this place and am so glad I did. We got the whipped ricotta, fritto misto, spaghetti pomodoro with added ricotta cheese, garganelli, gramigna, and the dry aged ribeye. EVERYTHING was delicious, like exceptionally, over the top delicious. I don't think I've gone somewhere where every single dish ordered was good. And I also loved the texture of the pastas! Made in house and perfectly cooked al dente pasta. I must have been eating the wrong type of al dente all my life lol I usually try a place, and unless it's amazing, don't think about going out of my way to go again. Here though, definitely a repeat on repeat restaurant when I'm in NY. Oh, and all the drinks were perfect too!

Excellent.Came here after a screening with a girlfriend at AMC Lincoln. We had a heavy topic to discuss, and the food and ambiance made it a safe place to do so.Both of us ate vegetarian and pescatarian, respectively, that night, so the cauliflower, calamarata (which has no calamari in it), local burrata, and branzino went down very well. The service lacked A LOT. the place wasn't that busy for us to wait as long as we did for water and just regular check-ins. so, that was a disappointment.but overall, very good. would definitely return. it has vibey vibes.

This place blew my socks clean off!!! Showed up after a day learning a lot at the history museum and they gave us a few options on where we could sit, which surprised me because it was a little past 5pm.We didn't know what to get and asked for the servers recommendations. He did not disappoint. So we started with the roasted cauliflower. It was good. I wish it was a little more roasted as it was kind of soft, but the aioli, pine nut, and raisins paired so nicely with it that I was able to get past my hatred for mushy vegetables. 7.4/10Next we got the rigatoni and garganelli with a side of broccolini.I'll start with the broccolini. I LOVE broccolini and this was not a disappointment. Again I do with it was roasted more, but that's just how I like it. Seasoning was great but plating was a little strange. (It was in a bowl?) 7.1/10Next up the rigatoni. Where to even begin... They said there pasta is all homemade and it shows. The vodka sauce was probably the best Ive ever had (I don't have a lot of vodka sauce). I wouldn't recommend the buratta in this as it already comes with a little cheese on top, that is unless you love cheese. 8.7/10The garganelli... Oh the garganelli. I definitely have a soft spot in my heart for a little mushroom sauce. I said it earlier and I'll say it again. THIS PLACE MAKES PASTA RIGHT. They just get it. The sauce for this plate had a great taste, HOWEVER I sadly had an issue. What is that issue you ask? The mushrooms. Now I know what you're thinking. I just said I love mushroom sauce, and I DO! BUTT this ones mushrooms were all different shapes and sizes. I liked the variety but some of the pieces were just a little too big and it made some bites a little weird. 7.9/10Lastly the burrata. I love cheese. I've also never had buratta so take this with a grain of salt but I'm glad this was my first experience. 7.2/10My girlfriend said the pastas "didn't need the buratta" she's right but also like who doesn't like a little extra cheese. That's all XOXO gossip girl
