Went here on Valentine's Day. It was packed! We had a reservation in advance. They had a price fixed Valentine's Day menu, which was $200 per person. It included 2 plates for the table, which were pate and smoked salmon, with caviar; then you pick an appetizer, I chose the mushroom ravioli soup, it was SO good! You don't even taste the mushroom! Then for the entree, I got the filet mignon, it was very good, (I wish it was bigger). Someone else in my party got the lobster pasta, it was very good, a lot of pasta. And then dessert! The chocolate mousse was SOO good! And the strawberry custard dessert was delicious! Drinks were expensive! Roughly $30 per drink. The waitress was very kind and attentive however she was continuously trying to get us to add extra caviar to each dish (for an additional cost). Ambiance- elegant, and speaks romance! Lots of flowers/roses! It was very pretty!Overall, I would return!

Modern French restaurant, located in the stunning Roman and Williams Guild in SoHo. The interior is stunning, as to be expected in a renowned interior design house. La Mercerie is open for lunch and dinner Monday-Friday, and brunch on weekends. My husband and I came here for brunch with my mom and sister. We started with espresso drinks and pastries, all of which were exceptional. Some of the best plain and almond croissants I've had in New York City, in fact. Their famed Chocolate Chip Cookie is unreal. Soft baked with brown butter and little pockets of hazelnut flavored chocolate throughout, and topped with sea salt, every bite was memorable. We all loved the cookie so much that we purchased three more to go. The rest of the food was mediocre at best, and overpriced for what it was. The Crepe Complete was dry and mealy, with a thin solidified layer Comte cheese within. My husband's Croque Madame was fine, albeit over salted. My sister got the Oeuf Cocotte Grand-Mere, basically baked eggs in cream. Fine, but not memorable. Service was wonderful, but I will only return for pastries. You may purchased bakery goods to go, but they do NOT sell coffee/drinks to go (I tried and they said no lol).

High end classy French restaurant and you can feel it the minute you walk in. The staff are trained differently to be discreet but at service. They don't smile a lot! Honestly came here because I wanted to experience the place as it looked amazing online. Decor was undeniably thought out to every detail. It's also a home decor store beyond the restaurant and they use a lot of the items they sell in the restaurant. Dishes and glasses in particular. Which are super nice and of great quality. All walks of life in here. We were tourists. There were business folks, solo eaters, families, groups of women. The menu is amazing. All the French traditional items. Lots of great French cocktails, wine and beer. The kitchen definitely goes all out in presentation and the bar makes its drinks look good! The place also smells amazing. We started with a classic French cocktail, Kir Royale. Served in a lovely coupe champagne glass with lemon. This was one of the best I've had . The sparkling stayed bubbly throughout the meal. Warm you this is also the most expensive one I've had at $28! This is NYC! Food wise we tried a couple of things. Honestly everything that came out of this kitchen looked amazing. We tried the salmon crepe with leeks and a creamy beurre blanc . We had the salmon on the side usually it comes in top of the crepe as I'm not a huge fan of salmon . The sauce was so good . Creamy and buttery. The crepe was buckwheat and nice and thin. All of together was really indulgent and very decadent. I tried a little of the salmon and it wasn't too fishy which I usually find it. The French onion soup was outstanding. Served in a little copper pot. With all the heavyweights, bread, cheese and this one had cognac . So much depth to the broth. Buttery and cheesy. Delicious. Nothing on this menu is low cal so get ready to be indulged! We throughly enjoyed every sip and bite of what we had. The ambiance is awesome in this place too. Love a little classy place.

Food is delicious and the service was in point! The chicken was the most filling and all the drinks were tasty! It was cool because the restaurant was inside of a furniture store, super cool concept. Def recommend!

4 stars for their chocolate chip hazelnut good! Love that they use hazelnut flour in this. It's a bit on the pricey side ($8) and has lots of salt on top but I just dusted that off. It does have a more cake like texture but I enjoyed itTheir brunch is also great (I went a couple years ago and want to come back). Super cute ambiance. Try the buckwheat crepe!

Stunning chic french bistro with classic fresh french fare. Came here after trying their famous chocolate chip cookie and wanted to go out for date night.Got the cod with potatoes and mustard seed en cocotte. Was so good. Light flavorful and well cooked. Hubby got the roast duck and cherries- it was delicious and perfectly cooked. Portions are on the smaller side. For dessert, we had tarte tatin- it was the best that we've had. Apples were chunky, perfectly caramelized and tender but still with a solid bite. Pastry was flaky and buttery.Service was great - staff were super attentive and kind. We were outside enjoying the last warm autumn day. Prices are on the high side, but for a chic night out it was great.

The interior of the restaurant was beautiful! We absolutely adored the high ceilings. All the staff were so so so patient, nice, helpful, and did not bother us at all. We came for brunch at 2pm and stayed past 4pm and nobody rushed us throughout our entire meal. Everyone was so kind and they even took pictures for us! The aesthetics of the restaurant were perfect for our birthday brunch vibes! Food wise, their desserts are the star of the show! The cookies are just as good as everyone says. They are so gooey and soft on the inside, and perfectly baked and topped with sea salt. We loved the melted chocolate inside the cookies. The vanilla ice cream inside the Profiteroles Au Chocolat dessert was also so refreshing. Plus the dark warm chocolate drizzle was fun to watch and videotape! A great compliment to the rich milk chocolate cookies. The fresh fruit cake was so good because it had apples and I love apple flavored desserts, tho it was a little bit on the sweeter side. They also gave us a free sorbet for my friend's birthday! Entrees wise, everything was alright. I got the salmon toast, and it was good. The bread was a little hard to cut (to be fair I was cutting with their standard butter knife lol), but the salmon itself was super fresh! Nothing that special about their food tho. They are definitely known for their desserts!! 10/10 recommend. We all had an amazing experience, thanks to the delicious sweets and wonderful staff.

The ambiance is amazing! If you want to feel like you're dining in a fine Parisian establishment, you should visit La Mercerie. Highlights from dinner - the tartare and the desserts! I loved the mix of textures and flavors in the tartare. As for the desserts, you must get the hot chocolate profiteroles! So comforting and decadent. We also ordered the hazelnut Mille-feuille puff pastry. Fantastic flavors. I asked if they serve the famous cookies at dinner time, but they said they don't :( I'll just have to visit in the day next time!We also ordered the oxtail over pasta and Aperol spritz. Photos attached. This restaurant also doubles as a dinnerware and furniture shop. If you go during the day, I'm sure you could stroll through after a nice meal. One note of caution: please choose to sit indoors and avoid the outdoor dining area. We sat inside by the windows and caught a rat climbing up and down the branches that are part of the restaurant decor and next to a few dinner tables. No one was sitting outside but I can imagine being terrified if I was out there.

2 Months we planned for this trip, and what we thought was the perfect stop to experience the best foodie spot in SoHo.. unfortunately, we will need another two months to forget this unpleasant experience. From forgetting about us in the back corner of the furniture store to the tiny and awkward tables, the service left us feeling unwelcome and almost bugged we were there. The food was underwhelming, with a lack of flavor, but the portions felt about right.Overall, it was not the night we expected from the Vogue hype, and we wish we had gone somewhere else.We would not recommend.
