I randomly stumbled upon this charming Italian restaurant, La Lanterna di Vittorio, on a Sunday night, and what a gem! The menu is massive, offering an impressive variety of options.I'll start by saying the pizza wasn't my favorite--it's just not it. However, the lasagna completely stole the show! Normally, I'm not a big fan of lasagna--it's actually one of my least favorite pasta dishes--BUT the lasagna here is next level. Absolutely amazing--chef's kiss! The lasagna flight was a standout and worth every bite. You get to try four perfectly portioned samples of different types of lasagna. It was cheesy, perfectly balanced, and delicious. My favorite was the Cacio e Pepe lasagna--OBSESSED! If you visit, I highly recommend skipping the pizza and diving straight into the lasagna. You won't regret it! 10/10!!!

Half the food was burnt, too well done , the other times it was very good, very inconsistent! It also took forever to come out. When the front door opened the garden became freezing. You need to devise a separator or something so the cold doesn't travel 50 feet to the back. It's a shame because the flavor was good but ...The online menu doesn't match the one at the restaurant. It's basically a pizza, lasagna, calzone place ...

Great Italian spot with cool lanterns and a dimly lit dining room. We got the beet salad, brie and Canadian bacon crostini, the carne lasagna flight, and the tiramisu. The ($25.50) lasagna flight was definitely worth coming for. They were a bit small but each of the 4 had unique flavors that made them all special. The crostinis were a bit of miss as they were a bit plain.Great cozy atmosphere with amazing lasagna.Overall 8.08 / 10

Craving lasagna, we searched Reddit and found La Lanterna, offering lasagna flights. Best of all, they were taking walk-ins on Friday night..What an experience! Tried two lasagna flights. 4 small crocks with meat and 4 veggie.A bonus is the wine list. Lots of options under $70, which is unheard of in the West Village.I'll definitely be back, the ambiance was old school and perfect for a date. The waiter was very attentive.

One of my go to spots in the West Village area - love their covered outdoor garden area with the lanterns! I always get the pesto pizza ($19.75) with goat & mozzarella cheeses, olives & pine nuts. I have tried the lasagna flight ($25.50) before but thought the serving size was a bit on the smaller side, although you get to try different lasagnas. The Brushchetta Pomodoro E Basilico (2 pieces for $12.50) was good and fresh, but could have had a bit more basil in it. The service here is always subpar, but for the ambiance and fair prices it'll always be a go to spot before a comedy show!

This place was alright! We went because we were looking for a restaurant to go out to, but didn't want to spend much, and this seemed like a relatively affordable option. What I'll say is you're getting what you pay for. The restaurant was very romantic, however service wasn't great and the food was alright. The lasagnas were the best part (what they specialize in!). Don't think I would go back, but it was fun trying a new restaurant and not spending as much in the city!

We wanted Italian food on our last night in NYC, and came here without reservations. We were seated right away at a table by the front window. The interior is charming, romantic, and dimly lit, my fave! The restaurant's menu is huge, but surprisingly, without much pasta... mostly pizzas, paninis, and salads. There is a coffee/espresso bar as well. They also had an extensive drink menu, including a long list of fun martinis. My key lime martini was too sweet, so I switched to wine. The panini we ordered (smoked prosciutto and melted gorgonzola) was decent, although I couldn't taste much cheese, but when we saw LASAGNA FLIGHTS on the menu, how the f could we not order that? When else do you see a freaking lasagna flight? The restaurant is known for its lasagnas, and they offer a meat flight and a seafood slight. We ordered the meat lasagna flight, which came out piping hot in 4 little ramekins. It was fun to try them all, talk about our faves, and rate them on a little card that came with. The prices didn't break the bank, with the quality of food and service we got. Our server was really attentive and personable. I'm glad we found this great spot!

Went here for my birthday dinner and was.. a lot? I had a large party (10 people) so they seated us in the bottom floor which was extremely hot. The staff was very busy and except for when they came by to take food or drink orders it was hard to flag them down. It was hard to fit the meals we ordered on the table space we were given. I ordered the vegetarian lasagna flight - I found two out of the four to be great. Others who ordered their pizzas said they were fantastic. Overall it wasn't terrible, I still had a great time, but I don't think bringing a large group of people here is a good idea, even if you reserve ahead of time.

Came with a few friends for dinner, it is once again a cute vibe but kind of loud and packed in the pack-something that I didn't remember initially. It was a small space as they packed in many seats/tables. The lasagna was great, especially if you try the flight option and have multiple ones. I was focused on the pesto again which was so great but the portion was so large. Recommend to come highly hungry so you can eat it all :)
