Incredibly good. Everything looks as yummy as what you see online. I got a mortadella sandwich with arugula and aioli. Scrumptious. I also ended up ordering my birthday cake from here cause i loved the flourless chocolate cake so much. The location itself is a bit small but the service is great. I went on a Sunday afternoon so it was quite packed but was able to get a table. I understand why they have a no laptop policy on weekends! They change their menu everyday, which is so exciting but they also have staple items.

Just want to put it out there that this is not off a one time experience but collectively from 4-5 times coming here. I tried to give it a shot(s)... and each time without fail the service is poor. The food is decent, priced a little higher because of location. The service I can't stress enough how garbage it is... Michael in particular complained of not being tipped appropriately. I left a 15% for horrible service. Why am I getting looked at like I'm asking for the near impossible of a new set of silverware and napkins when the ones I have are dirty. What an experience, best of luck to those who try it, hope you don't get scolded because of a tip with shit etiquette.

No one, and I mean literally no one is doing it like La Cantine/Sunsets at La Cantine. Bright, intentional, delicious, flavor-forward, and smart dishes. An incredible wine program, a quaint and cute inside, and an ever changing seasonal menu highlighting really fresh ingredients. I'm quite blown away. Make that reservation and go. I will and have been back so many times.Never change!!!

So after ditching Pitanga we head over to La Cantine. My friend heads in to get a table I find a spot around the corner. It's crowded but he's found a nice table and is on line ordering. The girl taking the orders is just so sweet, didn't get her name though. I decide on an egg sandwich with avocado on ciabatta bread. Decaf coffee. I know I know how lame but doctor's orders. It's a big sandwich and difficult to handle but delicious. Ok glad Pitanga bombed

I'd rate La Cantine four and a half stars.I highly recommend the desserts! We shared the peanut brownie and the chocolate bread pudding. Both were outstanding. Both had a moist consistency. Brownie was on the slightly cakey side but still plenty fudgy with same jam pockets too. I'd definitely return for both and a tall glass of milk. After dessert, we charged a chicken cutlet sandwich on a baguette. Cutlet was ultra thin. Sandwich had lettuce, cucumbers, and dressing. Simple, home style sandwich. It was good, but the desserts stole the show for me! Indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating was tight with some small stools at the table that was available. Hybrid service. Today we ordered at the counter and they brought the food to us. I believe there was waiter service in the past or possibly at different times. Noticed a bunch of wines bottles near the display case too.

I am extremely passionate about la Cantine thanks to their chicken cutlet sandwiches they are the absolute best. Fresh, thin, crispy. Love the specials menu but hate how fast they run out. Love the quality and ingenuity of the ingredients and recipes. Love the cut of the lettuce. Could the environment be more warm and welcoming? Absolutely. Does it matter? Absolutely not. I'm not coming for friendship, I'm coming for cutlets.

My favorite for EVERYTHING. Best espresso, most delicious sandwiches and the cutest sweets. Dinner is creative and comforting shareable plates, amazing beer, wine and mocktails and incredible desserts. I think the prices are reasonable because everything is clearly very high quality. Just love it there so much!

I'm always recommending this spot to friends new to the area bc it's a local gem!LISTEN TO ME READER, YOU MUST TRY THEIR OLIVE OIL CAKES. *Be warned they're addictive and this is a bit of a pricey spot so it's perfect for a study/work incentive lol. It's a small spot with some outdoor seating that's beautiful in good weather They serve La Colombe coffee and brew it well imo Might wanna come early if you can so you can catch the breakfast and the fresh baked goodies before they sell out.Btw, the Staff is always sweet and I recommend you be generous with tip bc they work in a teeny kitchen and always look exhausted running around and sweating in the summer

Fighting the gate keeping urge to not leave a review because I love love love this place -- but finally finishing this review because I've moved out of the neighborhood. The food is here is INCREDIBLE. The best part is that there are DAILY specials - and not just 1 or 2 items, its like 10-20 unique items everyday. This includes sandwiches (breakfast and lunch), baked goods, salads. There are truly some creative geniuses that craft this menu because it is always unique and interesting combinations, not to mention actually delicious. I have NEVER had a bad meal here, it just varies between good and great (with it being great most of the time). And even there regular menu is filled with delicious options. Its hard to make recommendations because I almost always order from the specials. The regular breakfast sandwich is delicious, and they usually have a banana chocolate bread pudding baked good that is incredible. The coffee also is always delicious. Also the chicken cutlet sandwiches are always super tasty. Sandwich size can vary, never super small, but some are bigger and could be potentially shared. The only things I think are worth skipping are the potatoes and the hot sauce. This place can definitely get crowded and have a line during peak weekend cafe times - there is both indoor and outdoor seating. Worst case if its full you can always just walk 5-10min to Maria Hernandez park. Service can also be slow -- especially when its busy, though frankly even when its not, I wouldnt come here if youre in a super rush. Also everyone that works here is very cool, very bushwick, nobody is mean or anything, but maybe varying levels of engagement haha.I know they also do a dinner service on the weekend, which I sadly never made it to, but im sure its delicious. Specials can be found on their instagram stories daily!!
