Great Italian restaurant! Came here last minute on a Tuesday night and was promptly seated. There were many seats in the back and it was nice and quiet. Service was attentive and great throughout our meal. I ordered the margarita pizza and asparagus, but also sampled the ragu and arancini. The pizza was great and bigger than we thought which is always a plus. Since it's Neapolitan style though, we were able to finish it. Ragu tasted rich and the pasta was perfectly al dente. Arancini was also a great taste and flavorful. While the asparagus was good, the price for the side was a bit on the pricier side. All in all, this is a great Italian place!

Spacious spot that has an underground area that feels more vibey and moody. Appropriate for big groups! Had high hopes for the food, especially since they have roots in Naples, but overall underwhelming The appetizers were all fine, not bad, but nothing too memorable. Real letdown were the pizzas and the dough was wet and sloppy in the center. tagliatelle verdi al pesto $27 carciofi salad $22 eggplant involtini $20 grilled octopus $28 diavola $30 margherita $24 분위기 괜찮구 넓은 공간의 이탈리안 식당.

This was a decent choice for Italian food. I split eggplant involtini, pesto pizza, and margherita pizza with two friends. The eggplant was the best dish - crispy, with a bright and flavor sauce on top, with some fried bread alongside. The biggest thing shortcoming with the menu is that there are only two vegetarian choices for pizza. The pesto pizza was luckily quite good. The crust had a bit too much of a charred note for my taste, but the cherry tomatoes and burrata made for a really delicious slice. The margherita was unfortunately underwhelming, so I'd skip it. The meal came out to $33 per person, which is quite reasonable in an otherwise expensive neighborhood. Though I've had better pizza of this style, I wasn't disappointed here.

I've had Neapolitan pizza in Italy before, but not in Naples, and the city's own Da Michele, whose reputation precedes itself, landed in NY recently for all of us stateside to try. I felt great eating with a large group so that we could sample so much of their menu, and while I really enjoyed all the pies, a pasta dish ended up being my favorite bite of the night.First of all, the digs are fancy, particularly downstairs. The space winds around, and is even larger than it looks at first glance. Even with so many seats the place was absolutely packed the cold night I visited, all of us hunkering down for a carbo load of a meal. The crust on the pies is charred to perfection, and you can taste the flavor that their fermentation process develops in the dough. Overall I found the toppings to be too light on flavor for me-- I think the sauce just wasn't all that. We tried the marinara with anchovies, double margherita, and pesto with burrata and I didn't find myself reaching for more slices. I absolutely loved their appetizers though, particularly the zucchini florets and eggplant parmigiana. But the star for me was spaghetti alla nerano, a simple pasta dish with zucchini, basil, and cheese. I would've been happy to order additional servings of this dish over the pizza. The kitchen was a bit slow and our servers seemed overwhelmed-- definitely not a place for a rushed meal. Enjoy a few glasses from their stellar wine list and order some zucchini flowers and spaghetti alla nerano for a great night.

We stumbled across this gem and it really was a gem. They squeezed us in on a Saturday night and were super generous. Great place to sit at the bar with a friend or grab a table - dim lighting, music, lots of conversation. Our server was friendly and quick. She offered some recs and we ended up going with the bolognese and margarita pizza. 100% would recommend. The bolognese was amazing. I've never seen my boyfriend finish a meal before and he actually ate the entire thing. Every noodle. Every bite. It was a perfect balance of meat and sauce and the meat was ground so fine. The pizza was amazing. The crust was super thin and doughy. The just-right amount do mozzarella and sauce. I'd certainly get it again!Overall, I'd recommend!

This is such a cute spot in the West Village. I liked the warm and inviting ambiance. The eggplant appetizer with garlic bread was delicious. If you like Neopolitan style pizza then you need to go here for its authentic Neopolitan pizza. The dough is soft and airy. Service was slow for a Monday evening.

We came here for an early dinner and sat in the cafe. A friend from Italy recommended this place as an authentic Italian restaurant. It was nice that it seemed most of the staff spoke Italian, but we didn't receive the same service we expected based on their recommendation. The drinks were really good. We had the alpine and hugo spritz. The alpine spritz was a nice, unique cocktail that we hadn't seen in other Italian restaurants. It was herbal and had grapefruit soda. The calamari was overcooked and rubbery, but we enjoyed that it had fried zuchini and shrimp. The tagliatelle verdi al pesto was surprisingly bland for the great, deep green color. And the truffle pizza was underwhelming. It was essentially just cheese and truffle. For $65, and we expected more flavor and a crispier bottom crust. The service was inconsistent. The hostess and our first server weren't very welcoming and seemed inconvenienced when we had questions about the space and menu items. Our actual server was really nice though. We did enjoy that the food came in sequential order and got a little biscotti gift treat at the end of our meal. It is a big restaurant with 3 different areas: cafe, dining room and taverna. They all have the same menu. The cafe was nice and bright. The restaurant was pretty empty when we walked in. After our experience, I can understand why.

Came here last night with a girlfriend and had a blast! We had a reservation and were seated very quickly. The interior is beautiful, we had a bar reservation and so we were surprised when we were seated at a table, but I think bar just means the front area of the room. It had a fantastic atmosphere, lively, and dim for a date night, but also a family was sitting adjacent to us and they fit right in.We ordered a couple of glasses of wine, the diavola pizza, the pesto tagliatelle, and the beet salad all to share! Beet salad was great and came with ample goat cheese, hazelnuts were a yummy kick. The pizza was my favorite! Thin crust and chewy with a great amount of sopressata. Pesto was my least favorite but my friend really enjoyed and I still thought it was great. Very creamy if you like pesto like that.Servers forgot to refill our water several times and catching their eye is difficult but they are prompt when you are able to get them. Can't wait to be back!

Food 4.5/5.0Service 3.5/5.0Value 3.5/5.0Decor 3.5/5.0Overall 4.5/5.0There are more neapolitan style pies (and ovens) in the city than say a decade ago, so this product which was once unique is now quite competitive. That said, this place does a larger pie (maybe around 16"). The crust was decent. I did not venture too deep into the non-pizza options which were fine, but I'd probably focus on the pizza next time. Tried two down the fairway pizzas and would happily look to try the others at some point.
