I tried the restaurant week menu with a friend, and it was a wonderful experience. We started with two types of bread - a fluffy and buttery biscuit-like roll, and a slice of crusty bread served with butter. Both were great.First courseCelery Root Tartare - a nice mix of creamy and crispy textures, with savory and herb flavors underneath.Beet Salad - not bad, but a bit too simple for my taste. It's mostly large chunks of cooked beets in a light dressing.Second Course Potato dumplings - absolutely delicious. The pillowy potato dumplings come on top of a fragrant leek puree and a rich cream sauce, with a quenelle of savory mushrooms. There is a present but not overpowering truffle flavor as well.Dorade Royale - I didn't try this, but my friend seemed to enjoy it.DessertKardinal - nice contrast between the firmer outer layers and soft inner layers, with subtle sweetness and green tea flavor. Very delicious.Creme Brulee - literally the best one I've ever had. The duck eggs add some almost savoriness to the cream, and the pineapple jam adds a touch of tropical fruit. Definitely try this. With tax and tip, the meal came out to about $80. I'd definitely come back to try some of the other dishes someday, or at least to have the creme brulee again.

Another yearly birthday bestie dinner well spent. Modern French with intricate sized dishes, savory flavors, and compact but strong cocktails was what made a good girls night together. Salmon En Croute, Roasted Duck, and the Viennese Apple Strudel were the main recommended dishes pointed out by our host and server. I loved how slippery the salmon was right off the marrow bone and offered in 2 pieces each for my bestie and I to share. The roasted duck was freshly soaked in marinade with a tiny of charred skin if you don't mind dining the best yet unhealthy part of any poultry. For dessert, we could've chosen the usual creme brûlée but wanted to select the Viennese Apple Strudel as we don't often find this dish. Flaky exterior with rum raisins and frozen buttermilk - so good and had to include the anatomy of the dessert. All of these went well with my Einspanner cocktail because how else would I enjoy a Viennese coffee cocktail during our annual girls dinner?

My friend and I stopped by for brunch last weekend - we didn't have a reservation but there were plenty of tables open for us. (Seems they might be more of a dinner place). The ambiance is very nice - not too loud - and the decor feels very casually elegant. We started with a duck liver parfait. The brioche was really delicious - light, fluffy, and buttery, and it paired wonderfully with the richer and savoury flavours of the duck. I do wish they gave a bit more bread, the parfait was really delicious, but a little too heavy to eat just by itself, and the ratio of duck to bread was a little skewed (in our opinion) haha.We also ordered the Ei im Glass - also fantastic, although the pedant in me wants to note that there were technically two eggs. Anyways, the poached eggs were cooked perfectly with a deliciously runny yolk, and the Hollandaise was really excellent. I'd definitely recommend this, it was a really authentic representation of a classic Viennese dish. The schnitzel was good, but didn't shine as much. I think the biggest flaw was the breading, which felt a bit light and airy. The pork itself was tasty, and I really, really adored the potato salad, which was cooked to a perfect tenderness and paired with a lovely creamy sauce. Finally we shared the apple strudel. The apple flavour was really fresh and paired nicely with the cinnamon, but I did feel that the pastry was a little bit soggier than I would have liked -- I fear it didn't quite have that classic flakiness. In any case, it was a super yummy meal all around, and price point was honestly quite reasonable (and better than I expected given the quality of food). I'd be keen to come back to give their dinner menu a try!

Was a bit skeptical to be dining at a hotel adjacent food spot but this place was exceptional. The food was really well made especially the savory and sweet soufflé which I would highly recommend. The place was dimly lit and lovely enough a a date spot. There's a sommelier to help you pair wine selection, which is extensive including a few NA options (by the glass).Pretty attentive staff just be prepared for lots of reminders on your reservation

They're in the hotel next door, they have their own entrance but if you need to use the restroom, you have to ask the host. They provide you with a keycard and you go through the cafe in the hotel to the restroom in the basement. I've been here a couple times now but only for brunch and really enjoyed their eggs each time. I have gotten the Ei em glas and their Kernöl. It's so simple but done so well. I like mezcal, and I really enjoyed their slice of Oaxaca drink, it is smoky and not too sweet.

Food was really good and I really like the space here as it feels very french and upscale. Great decor and the food came out quickly. Fast service and got to try their foodweek set menu which was really good but a bit on the pricier side. Would definitely come back for the tartare

Came here for brunch with a friend on a Sunday. I think this is more of a dinner spot as there were not very many people there in the morning at around 10am. We had a reservation and were seated immediately and greeted promptly by the server. We ordered the Palatschinken (a crepe with apricot filling dusted with confectioners sugar), the pain a chocolat, and the lobster burger. The apricot crepe was fine. The texture was nice, but I really couldn't taste the apricot which I was really hoping would shine through the whipped cream and powdered sugar. The croissant was pretty standard, nothing special. My favorite thing we ordered was the lobster burger! It was really lemony and fresh and didn't fall apart as you ate it. I would definitely come back for dinner!

Brunch review. Just order it all. And if you can't order it all, get these:- Carrot Bread: Better than your grandma's- Roasted Beets "Linzer": A deconstructed beet linzer cookie, complete with pieces of candied orange and hazelnut crust to complement the sweetness of the pink and red beets. Why hasn't anyone thought to make a salad taste like a cookie? Genius.- Kernöl: Tasty "styrian-style" soft scrambled eggs with plenty of homemade baked bread to slather them on. - Goulash: As good was what I had in Hungary and savory enough to make me cry tears of joy. I could eat that buttered spätzle every day.- Viennese Apple Strudel: I generally don't care for apple desserts, but of course Koloman made me temporarily change course with its flaky, crusty, perfectly spiced pastry with rum raisins, toasted hazelnuts and frozen buttermilk. I spent a week in Vienna and don't know if I had any apple strudel there as good as this.We first experienced Koloman at an LA Times-hosted food festival. Among so many A-list restauranteurs, their offerings stood out as one of the best. Now that the restaurant has successfully passed my brunch test, I'll quite happily shell out more for dinner. Besides, it's good practice for when I jet off to Germany in a couple of months. Mmmm, endless spätzle....

Our server was kind and the food was fine. My partner and I are disappointed that we specifically reserved the a la carte menu and were only told after being seated by the manager that our only option was the prix fixe menu. No apologies, no remorse, no offer for us to leave without being charged a cancelation fee. The only alternative option we were given was to sit at the bar and have the bar bites. We understand if the menu needs to change last minute but you have to notify your customers and give the option to cancel the reservation free of charge. It being Valentine's Day, we knew there were no other dining options available last minute. The food was fine but not worth $185 given alcohol was not included. We missed out on our favorite dishes like the schnitzel which we were both excited for. We tried to make the most of the dinner and asked during the appetizer course to order a bottle of wine to go with our mains and asked to speak to the sommelier to help navigate the extensive wine menu. We waited for over 30 minutes for the sommelier to come to our table and by the time they came, we were already halfway through our mains.Overall, extremely disappointed in our experience and the lack of communication and compassion.--This was originally posted as a private note to the restaurant. The restaurant responded:"Prior to Valentine's Day, we reached out to all reservations confirming our prix-fixe menu and offering the option to confirm or cancel."This was not the case, as the email and the original reservation both specified the regular menu, not the prix fixe.
