This was a GREAT omakase experience. It was packed full, but still felt intimate since the whole restaurant is basically one L shaped omakase counter. All the bites were super fresh and not overproduced. We also loved the sake we got, though we wish they offered it by the glass instead of the bottle. Felt like we were racing to finish the bottle as only 2 people.

Kinzan is a solid spot for omakase in the West Village, offering a 13-course meal for just $69--a great deal for the area. The menu had a nice variety of pieces, including flounder with dried seaweed, yellowtail with pesto, salmon with yuzu, bluefin with truffle, scallop, black cod, amberjack, albacore with chili garlic, sea bream, uni, toro with caviar, and unagi. My personal favorites were the flounder, uni, and unagi. The service was attentive and friendly. For an affordable omakase experience in the heart of the West Village, Kinzan is worth checking out!

Kinzan Omakase is an omakase spot located in the heart of the West Village. They offer a 13 piece omakase for $69 and a 16 piece omakase (13 piece with 4 pieces sashimi and hand roll) for $89 per person. We ordered the 16 piece and the meal started off with 2 pieces of flounder sashimi and salmon sashimi. The omakase featured:- yellowtail- tuna with truffle- scallop- albacore tuna- ebi- uni- madai- A5 Japanese wagyu with foie gras- eel(Others I'm not sure about)At the end the hand roll featured salmon. Overall everything was really good! Very classic omakase spot on the more affordable end (for omakase) - would recommend!

Food (5/5): We got the $89 Omakase combo which has 13 pieces, hand roll, and 4 sashimi. My favorites were the wagyu with foie gras, el toro tuna with caviar, scallop nigiri, and salmon with ikura sashimi. Overall though all of the pieces were amazing and mega fresh!Service (5/5): Very friendly service whereby the host greeted us and had a nice convo with us. The chef looked more serious but was also polite and smiled with each piece. The pieces came out fast at a good pace and was enjoyable. They also gave us a sale on the house which was nice. Ambiance (5/5): beautiful and cozy interior decorated by many classic Japanese drinks and sakes. Has the vibe of a legit Omakase place.

I made a reservation for a group of 7 and Kinzan Omakase has been nothing but accommodating. It was so easy to text and contact the restaurant when I needed to add more people. The sushi bar is modern and spacious, and the server/chefs were so friendly. Our group ordered a big bottle of sake to share but were later served complimentary ones too! Awesome and attentive service throughout. We all chose the $100/person option - Everything tasted so fresh and was reasonably priced for 16 variety pieces (sashimi, nigiri, and handroll). My favorite was surprisingly the first sashimi dish because the fish was so tender and flavorful. I highly recommend Kinzan!

I have been to quite a few omakase in NYC, and I like this place because of its flavors. If you pay cash, they have cash discount. You will need to make reservations before dining here, and the servers will try to upsell you throughout the course. From add on pieces to sake. When I m dining here only one chef that made all the sushi, but his skills are good when the pieces are coming up fairly fast The ambiance is okay, not too fancy like other omakase restaurant.

Our meal at kinzan was good. Unfortunately I did walk away hungry, I felt that the slices of fish were rather thin. Also a lot of the fish was torched not raw..which was a bit disappointing sometimes. The service was fantastic and the ambiance was very intimate, tight seating in a small place. Nonetheless it was a good experience.

Typically Omakase restaurants are very formal and proper. I planned, we walked in and what a great time. We laughed with all and they gave us free drinks.Food prep was done with artistically done.Want to experience a fun Omakase, stop in

Shoutout to our sushi chef Kenny. He's the reason I'm giving this place 4 stars instead of 3. Kenny is the happiest sushi chef I've ever met- he was smiling throughout our entire meal. We ended up speaking in mandarin and he kept pouring us sake. Other than the service, we didn't particularly enjoy our meal. You can choose between $75 or $100 omakase. We chose the $100 which I think was 17 pieces. The only piece that stood out to me was the seared black cod. Everything else fell flat in terms of freshness and flavor. There were some pairings that I thought were strange, like the pesto sauce and some Chinese-like chili sauce. Definitely overpowered the fish. We also thought the hostess kept trying to upsell us (she kept mentioning the $75 was "little" and that a glass of sake is tiny and that we should go for the bottle).

We made a reservation and got there just in time for our 7PM. The decor was pretty modern with an actual decent amount of seating. We went on a random Wednesday night so it wasn't busy and some seats were as really empty! We both chose the $75 option as it seemed a great bang for your buck. The food was made rapidly, which is great in my opinion. The only note was I may have had expectations due to some reviews and pictures I've seen online. I thought most of the pieces were fine, but not amazing. Their choice to add sauce on almost every piece along with either a variation of truffle or condiments somewhat detracted from the actual taste of the pieces itself. I will say the staff and service were great! The chefs were friendly and our hostess attentive. Even though the pieces were fine, they're still no frills and you can expect them to be good.
