I got the Chicken / Kara Chicken Ramen bowl for my first time here. Sometimes chicken ramen can be lackluster with the savory-ness of the taste, but this one was well seasoned. It wasn't overly salty and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The Kara Chicken ingredients included: homemade chicken broth, chicken chashu, half ajitama, bean sprout, bok choy, corn, cilantro, red onion & shallot chips. There is also an option to make the bowl spicy with their homemade spicy paste and oil. I opted to get this on the side, and thank god I did because it was superrr spicy. I literally put a small scoop of it on the tip of my chopstick and mixed it into my ramen - and when I told you I had tears in my eyes... But it was really good, just adjust how much you want to put in depending on your spice level. I also added more cilantro to my ramen afterwards, because there could never be enough (I'm a big cilantro fan). The shallot chips, bok choy, along with the onions added a nice crunchy texture to the bowl that I loved. To start - the place is super cute. It's decorated with a ton of Japanese style accessories and furniture, adding to the ambiance as a whole. It really transports you to a small Japanese ramen shop - or at least I would imagine so (I haven't been to Japan...yet). Everything is Japanese themed, covered with Japanese writing and symbols. It definitely added some allure and visual excitement as you indulge in your ramen dish. If you've read past posts, you know I'm a very visual person. I love the way aesthetics are formed and intricately crafted to enhance the gustatory sense. The interior is small, but it's super cozy. They utilize the space pretty well to accommodate as much as they can. It's a great place to come with a small group of friends for a quick bite to eat. This time, I happened to come on my own. Don't be afraid to, because here, they have single seats along a bar on the wall. The decor on the wall in front of me resembled classic, Japanese windows, which I thought was a nice touch. Overall, I love the concept here. Review is via my blog: https://www.doublemacchiatoblog.com/

Unbeknownst to it's exterior, stepping into Kin Ramen truly feels like stepping into a dingy, but delicious ramen shop in Japan. Service was super fast and friendly; the restaurant filled up super quickly even though we got there at around 4:45 pm.We ordered:* Geso Karaage - 8/10: can't go wrong with deep fried squid, every part was crispy and delicious* Kin Ramen - 9/10: the classic pork ramen with toppings, the thin noodles accompanied everything else perfectly* Kaisen Ramen - 9/10: big surprise for me, there was a decent amount of seafood and the noodles were different as they were bigger and chewier than the original, still super tastyI was super surprised at the quality of ramen here to the price, while still generally on the higher end side to me, still a solid deal in NYC. The broth wasn't super heavy either, unlike other ramen shops.

This ramen truly is golden. We stumbled upon this spot because it was right next to our hotel and had long lines out the door each night. We were a group of six. We waited in line on a Saturday night starting around 5:10pm. It was a really rainy night. We were seated around 5:45pm. Do know you need your entire party there to be seated. Our table was right by the front window with the line of people looking in. The restaurant was a really small tight space, but this table comfortably fit our party. The menu has a variety of ramens to choose from with the option to make it kara (spicy). Our vegan friend found a ramen option on the menu. Do know if you want an egg or certain other goodies you do need to pay extra. You can see the topping section of the menu for this.Everyone in my group loved the ramens they ordered. I got the the classic kin ramen itself. This pork broth ramen was beyond delicious. The noodles were thinner than I expected, but still divine. I normally am not able to finish a full bowl of ramen, but I think all the walking, the rainy day, and the incredible ramen made it easy to. A lot of my friends took leftovers to go which the restaurant packs for you. Do know there is one single stall gender neutral bathroom in the back. After trying the food here, I totally understand why there is a long line out the door for this restaurant. I highly recommend ordering ramen here.

I was excited to try Kin Ramen after hearing positive reviews from friends. My party came here on a Thursday with no wait. The restaurant is quaint with a cute and cozy anime/izakaya vibe. My party ordered:- kin (4/5): it was solid. The pork belly was nicely charred and the seaweed was pretty good. The soup had a solid pork flavor. I felt like I had better ramen elsewhere though- shio truffle (1/5): not my favorite. I wish there was pork instead of chicken. It also kinda tasted like the ramen made for someone who isn't used to eating Asian food/ramen. Would not recommend unless you love truffleOverall, I wasn't really impressed with the ramen. Perhaps other items on the menu are better...

Kin Ramen was a great experience. The ambiance, lighting, decor, and service were stellar. It really felt like an intimate, upscale Japanese ramen shop. I ordered the Kin Ramen and the chicken nikuman. The ramen was not as rich as I was expecting, but it was still flavorful and the noodles had a good texture. My favorite was the chicken nikuman, though. If you are a fan of crispy chicken and baos, this is a must order dish! The flavors were so well balanced and the bao was perfectly soft. I would go back just for this. Overall, definitely recommend if you're looking for a good ramen spot in NY!

Cute restaurant with two floors for seating. I came for dinner and had to wait in line for about 15 minutes to get seated. The menu is typical for a ramen restaurant and they also have a lot of other food aside from ramen. Their drink menu looks pretty good as well. I got the kin ramen which I thought was only alright. The broth is pretty good, the noodles are chewy, but I thought the pork tasted stale with a weird aftertaste. Also, the amount of food was smaller than I expected for the price, even compare to other ramen places in the area and I still felt hungry after a bowl of ramen. Service was attentive and polite.

Warm and cozy ramen on a cold winter day! Just the spot keep in mind it's like a divey bar vibe so seated is limited it seems they have a second floor and bottom floor. I got lucky with bar seating for meal. Service and menu both were awesome a good variety of ramen and non ramen options, you don't have option for changing sodium which was my only concern- but the broth was well balanced- highly recommend and glad I found this spot :)Will be back to try their non ramen dishes

Kin Ramen has a very nice interior that is well decorated and fantastic date night ambiance. The spacing is a bit cramped though, so expect to be seated right next to another party. The food itself I felt like was a little bit hit or miss given what we ordered. The miso I was surprised by because of how sweet it was. I know certain styles have a sweeter miso, but I just felt like the rest of the dish didn't really do much to match the sweeter broth, they just used a standard set but gave it a sweet broth that didn't match. The Kin Ramen and chicken nikuman, on the other hand, were fantastic. Really full flavors that utilized every element and had great texture in each bite. Overall great spot, I would definitely recommend getting the Kin Ramen.

I've found my ramen crush at last! My family and I were soaking up the Christmas spirit the day after around Central Park south including 4 hours of outdoor skating, and we wanted some comfort food to thaw our skate-frozen feet, body & soul. I've eaten a LOT of ramen to know what's up, and Kin Ramen is right now my favorite Japanese ramen joint in NY-NJ metro area. I like everything about it - from the taste, the small but cozy ramen house vibe (akin to ones in Tokyo), and surprising diversity in the menu. I. FOOD - As per usual, my reviews state (Price at the time, Category, Rating). 1. Takoyaki ($12, APP, 3/5) - My son wanted this as he never had one before, and it had a decent meat to dough ratio though it could've been better. Came out quickly and great way to start the meal2. Karage ($12, APP, 4/5) - Very crispy and juicy, this came with 3 different dipping sauces to add to the fun, although I found the ponzu a bit too weak of a pairing3. Kin Ramen ($22(L)/$20(S), ENTREE, 5/5) - My son and I both ordered the namesake ramen in large, kara(spicy) version. This is where it's at - portion was generous, noodles were perfectly cooked, really satisfying silky pork broth w/ right amount of kick w/o being greasy, TWO well-seasoned runny eggs, delicious chashu pork, and nice garnishes that added to the complex flavor. I mean, this was party in our mouths - some may not like pickled red ginger and fresh scallions but each bite was balanced out with the freshness brought by those topping. Very thoughtful bowl of ramen.4. Chicken Ramen ($19, ENTREE, 2/5) - My wife ordered this because she doesn't enjoy pork broth as much, and she regretted it. Juxtaposed to the awesomeness of Kin, this one just had very flat and almost bland taste. Chicken was semi-dry, and the bowl was just not interesting. I think they should give some love and creativity to this since I know there are ppl that want chicken broth, but this one felt like an afterthought. 5. Matcha Lava Cake ($14, DESSERT, 4/5) - Awesome way to finish the meal. Pretty scrumptious with refreshing matcha taste that paired well with chocolate lava that wasn't too sweet. Well done.II. ATMOSPHERE & SERVICE (5/5) - You could tell this is a happening place. Cozy, fun, and good date spot. High energy and cheerful servers who are doing their best to be attentive! If you are a ramen head and around Upper Midtown area, you've got to check this place out NOW. We had to wait around 15 minutes outside, but we gladly did for some great slurp! My 13-yr old son couldn't shut up about it and I can't wait to go back!
