Came here for the first time during the pandemic so I dined outside, but I finally got the chance to dine indoors recently! I came for lunch on a Saturday at 3pm and I was surprised this place was still so busy. There was a short line that moved quickly since they're very efficient with seating (it's all counter seating so no tables). I appreciated that they have coat hooks available for everyone to use. It's also super easy to order, just grab a menu and pencil on your way in! I ordered three rolls since I was going to have dinner at 7, but honestly they were so good I could have eaten more. My set of three came with salmon, scallop and crab. All were delicious. It was honestly a pretty fast meal too, I think we were done eating in thirty minutes. Also, gratuity is included which is nice (my total came out to $19 something with tax). I would def recommend this place if you're craving sushi!

Solid handrolls and pretty reasonably priced. We came on a Sunday around 9 PM and were seated immediately. I have heard that the line can be long during peak dining hours so keep that in mind.We kept things easy with the 6 hand roll set, and then added some add on rolls. Everything tasted fresh and was high quality.Service was included, so no need for separate tip.

I came here on a Wednesday night at 6:30 and had to wait about 35-40 minutes before being seated. They do a good job of keeping the line moving and turning over seats. There are two big bars of seating. You grab a menu when you get to the front of the line and will choose what you want when you sit down. Make sure to take a look at the specials on the chalk board above the menus before sitting down! The menu has a few sets including 3-6 pre chosen hand rolls and then a chef special one (which doesn't list what's included.) I don't know if it's because it rotates but I do wish it was listed so I could compare how it was different to the 6 hand roll set. I had to have the waitress recite it multiple times and I still don't know what the difference was.My friend and I both just decided to go with the 6 hand roll set and order a few individual hand rolls on the side. The chef making the rolls was able to watch our side of the bar and keep track of what we were eating and pace our rolls based on how fast or slow we were eating, which I thought was great. He would also bring our roll and quietly mumble what the roll was which was frustrating since our menu with the list was taken away (which they didn't even follow that list because my friend had her extra rolls served in the middle of the set) I had to flag him down multiple times to ask him what he gave me. Some instances he wouldn't see me waving and ultimately a manager had to come over and help me and guess what I was given.Side note: All of the fish was chopped up and/or in a sauce. The scallop, crab and lobster hand rolls were all in almost a mayo sauce which reminded me of lobster salad. Additionally, it was nice that the rice was warm but it also made the seaweed get soft very quickly so you had to either eat it very quickly or know everything was going to fall out of your hand roll.To be honest, the experience was not the greatest and I don't know if it plays a part that they are so popular/busy. The hand off to that is that it is an affordable hand roll bar. They also build gratuity into the price so the price you see is what you pay.

Not sure why it took me so long to come here! Seriously amazing handrolls. The sets are affordable and the quality of the fish and rice are fantastic. It's such a great value. There was a line when we visited on a Saturday night but it moved quickly and only waited 20 minutes for seats at the counter. They are very efficient and serve you quickly. It's not a spot for a leisurely meal. It's one of my go-to restaurants now!

We didn't have a reservation, so we had to wait in line, but service was efficient and well-organized. Even though we were 9-10 groups down, we were seated within 20-25 minutes, which was quicker than expected. Since its the sister restaurant to Blue Ribbon Sushi, known for its incredible seafood quality, I was more than willing to wait, especially since it's significantly more affordable. The interior decor is elegant and calming, creating a serene dining experience. The layout features two long rows around the chef's kitchen, ensuring that everything is served freshly made, right in front of you.We opted for the 5-hand roll set, and they do allow some substitutions, so definitely ask if you have preferences. We also ordered the salmon sashimi, which turned out to be one of my favorites--the sauce paired with it was so flavorful that we kept it to dip our hand rolls in!As for the hand rolls, every bite was exquisite, but my top picks were the bay scallop and toro--both had perfect textures and rich flavors. Since their menu changes seasonally, I'd highly recommend getting these if they're available.Overall, this was a fantastic experience, and I can definitely see myself returning. Fresh, delicious, and reasonably priced--it's officially on my return list!

I used to love KN but they raised their prices and decreased the portions and now it's more of a factory that doesn't really care about the customer experience. Sugarfish has the same philosophy. I think they are growing to rapidly and are losing sight of customer interaction. They have expanded and have so many locations that they are spreading themselves too thin. The fish quality is always good so three stars for a solid sushi lunch with my son last week. It's always enjoyable to see him and he likes the KN hand rolls snd he can eat at least 5 because he works out like a maniac!

My friend took me to Sugarfish when I was on the West Coast and now I'm a little obsessed. The blue crab hand roll was my favorite thing I had when I was there, so when I heard that KazuNori had NYC locations, I knew I had to come.I came around 5 or 6PM on a Wednesday and there was already a line. Luckily, I was dining solo and got to skip the queue when a solo spot opened up at the bar. By the time I left an hour later, the line was down the block! The lighting is muting, the wood counter is light and soft, and the mood is very calming and dreamy. I went with the 5 for $30 hand roll menu, which had my favorites along with options like lobster and scallop I wanted to try.Pacing is perfect. There are a few minutes between each roll, and you never feel rushed nor too hungry. I'm really amazed at how the chefs keep their rhythm and keep the sequence of so many hand roll orders. The rolls themselves are immaculate. The warm rice and cold fish, perfectly soft and umami and melting in your mouth. The crab was just as amazing as I'd remembered, and all of the other rolls were just as great.Service was impeccable. And the price for the quality is pretty great for NYC especially.Highly recommend.

*** 4.5 stars ***Great hand roll bar that always has a line out the door. I walk past it all the time and didn't realize it was a proper sit-down restaurant; I thought it was a grab and go hand roll place. In fact, they don't let you take the hand rolls to go (cut rolls only) because they say that there is no way to preserve the quality. The line went out the door and up the block, but we probably only waited about 20 minutes as it is larger inside than you would expect, and people eat and go pretty quickly. Pretty reasonably priced, you can get 3 hand rolls for $19 up to 6 for $35, or order a la carte for approx $6-$8 per roll. I had 4 rolls, which was enough to be satisfied: Albacore, Toro, Salmon, Yellowtail. All were of exceptional quality and taste. I could easily eat 10 just because they are so good, but that would be completely unnecessary. Note: since it is a sushi bar, it's not a great for groups. Also, they automatically give everyone their own individual bill, so this could be a good place to go if you want to avoid that awkward "who is paying" scenario (although I can't guarantee they always do this, it's what they did without us asking).

Solo dinner on a rainy Friday night. The place was packed with a few parties waiting in front of me. Luckily, they have high turnover and I got seated in about 15-20 mins. The menu is by the door and you can decide while a seat opens up. I went for the 6 hand rolls set (toro, yellowtail, salmon, scallop, crab, and lobster) and the chef made every roll fresh as you eat. The warm vinegared rice, chilled seafood, and crispy seaweed was a delightful combination. Every roll was amazing and left me wanting more. You can also order additional items once you're done. I decided to wrap up with a toro hand roll. It was a no frills, but super high quality and delicious meal. Will return for sure!

It's great place for a quick lunch. (Sometimes they have a long line but it relatively move fast.)They only have counter seating so it's not the most comfortable situation especially for short person like me. Food is great but sometimes they change the chef in the middle of the course so they don't remember what they have served. Love the fact that tip is included just like how it is in Japan and very reasonable.
