This is my first time at this particular location in the city but I can confidently say that Kazunori never disappoints because I know exactly what to expect every time I visit. The food is consistently great across all locations, with fresh, high-quality seafood that's always a hit. I appreciate that there's no reservation system so it's first come, first served, which makes the experience feel more laid-back and easygoing.Whether you're in the mood for their signature hand rolls or something else on the menu, you can always count on a satisfying meal. A reliable spot that delivers every time!

Solid lunch spot. It's empty exactly at noon but fills up quickly afterwards. They can maybe serve 15 people at a time. Rolls come out a little slowly but it's good for pacing. 6 roll set ($35) - this is just enough for lunch, though they are a little heavy on the rice. It's nice that the rice is warm and fresh. Fish quality is tender, absolutely no fishiness. Eel roll - the eel is warm and flavorful. Generous portion within the roll.

Overall pretty solid for a handroll spot. I would have to agree with a few other reviews that the rice itself was a bit warmer than I'm accustomed to, which took away from some other places I've had that I felt was a better balance with the cold fish. Value wise, solid for manhattan. I got the 4 roll. The Toro was good, although the salmon was a tad fishy. Crab was also solid. Bar seating and service was quick and attentive. I'd say it scratches the itch - but wouldn't go out of my way to have it again.

Huge fan of Kazu Nori and I came here for their special 10 year anniversary private bar experience and it was fantastic. With a group of 7-10 people, you can have the entire bar to yourselves. There are 8 handrolls and 3 sashimis included and what is great is that you can substitute any of their handrolls for something else. It's $80 per person with $100 for the private bar and honestly, it was pretty dang worth it. Service was top notch and we got to have the bar for two hours. Would recommend!

Came here on a Friday afternoon for lunch and there was no wait so that was great. We were greeted at the door and found a seat on the counter. The restaurant itself is pretty small with only counter seating but there was still sufficient seating inside. You can order the hand rolls a la carte or the set. We opted to the sets with 6 rolls including scallop and salmon which I like. The filling was pretty good but I found the rice to be a little too hot but it was still pretty good. It was served one at a time so it was a great place to go with a friend and chat.

I'd echo a lot of what others have said. The first time I tried KazuNori was via delivery and didn't think it was anything special. In fact, I preferred the sugarfish box more because there was more variety. However, dining here is a must do to get the full experience. There is mood lighting and is all bar seating - I definitely recommend getting there early in the night as it will fill up quickly and there are no reservations, just first come first serve. Like others mentioned, there is a good amount of rice and the rice is warm; however, that didn't impact the overall experience for me, it's just a good to know. I did notice that other diners did ask for less rice in their rolls so know that it's an option. I felt like for the quality of fish, the prices were fair. What I didn't know and like about it was this is a non-tipping restaurant.

Long wait (around 40 mins for party of 5), but worth it. Handrolls are really good and freshly made. This location is bigger than the Flatiron location but feels more crowded. The service was fine and price is reasonable. Gratuity is included in menu price!

One thing about KazuNori....they are consistent. No matter the visit or location, I've had fairly identical experiences each time when it comes to the quality of food. This was my first time at the Greenwich Village location, but it was almost exactly like the others in terms of size, seating, order and execution. My strategy is to always go during off peak hours to avoid lines, so pulling up at 3pm was perfect. There was no line and I was one of three diners eating at the time.I ordered a few handrolls (blue crab is my favorite) and was in and out in 20 mins. I left happy, satisfied and impressed that no matter how many months between visits, I can still expect the same perfection and quality.

Arrived at 6pm on a Saturday and there was 30-45 min wait. You have to stand in line to be seated. Overall, I was surprised with how spacious the inside was- all bar type seating with views of the kitchen/the food being prepared. The food was yummy but I feel that they could add more fish and less rice. Overall would come again. Seems to be a fun and cheaper alternative to omakase!

Honestly this is a gem. For $30, 5 hand rolls is a steal especially in the city and a cup of sake at $10 is hard to beat especially when the ambiance is so sleek and modern. This is a no tipping establishment with great service and the quality of the seafood speaks for itself. No wonder there is always a line to get in highly worth it.
