After seeing Jiro-style ramen in anime, I could finally try one in NYC. Kamisama Ramen has just opened near Union Square that specializes in jiro ramen. Jiro ramen is well-known for hearty portion with a lot of bean sprouts and vegetables. The broth is more pungent and thicker than regular ramen, as extra garlic and pork fat are added. *Spicy Jiro Ramen $17***Tonkotsu Ramen $17I thought the flavors of jiro ramen would be too aggressive for my liking, but it turned out I enjoyed every slurp of it. The noodles were thicker which held up the broth well. I usually disliked bean sprouts but I devoured them all. They were so delicious with the broth! The pork chashu was smoky and quite tender, while my bf thought it was a little tough for his liking. Highly recommend spicy jiro ramen if you can tolerate spice. I almost drank up the whole broth. I added a soft boiled egg ($2) and it was very worth it. *Gyu Donburi $17 ***Mentaiko Fried Rice $17The gyudon amazed me. Even though I could make gyudon at home, they made it ten times better!! The sliced beef was marinated in a sweet and umami sauce and the rice was mixed with it. Chef's kiss. Mentaiko didn't add much flavor, but the fried rice was good to pair with other appetizers. *Karaage $10 **Takoyaki $9The karaage came with spicy mayo and yuzu sauce. The meat was juicy and tasted good with both dips. Takoyaki lived up to my expectation and each piece had a bouncy squid inside. Pro tip: they currently offer 10% off for students. Check out their ig for the coupon.

Jiro Ramen is my all time favorite with rice broth, thick noodle and garlic flavor. I usually go to another place for jiro ramen, when i see this new place I was excited to want to try. I had the Spicy Jiro ramen $17 for a good portion, with some toppings , but no egg and some bean sprouts on top. i was expecting a lot more topping that's usually what Jiro ramen is famous for. the broth is not as thick as it supposed to be and not extra fat either which was a little let down. their spicy level is a little high even i like spicy but i think it's to the point is not really enjoyable. noodle does not have the chewy texture feels a bit overcooked. the best part of the whole bowl is the chashu pork, it's very tender and thick. wish they torched a little bit to give a bit burnt and smoky flavor Overall the ramen is ok. it's conveniently located near union square. i would come back for convenience but probably will travel extra for a better option.

Came here for dinner - no reservations required. We were promptly seated and ordered a donburi bowl and fried chicken ramen. The rice bowl was perfectly seasoned and the fried chicken was so crispy. Great service and delicious food!

A pretty decent tonkotsu ramen in the East Village. The noodles are a bit more tangy and hard than normal - which I think could be a good thing. The broth is quite rich although doesn't seem as 'real' as other tonkotsu in the sense that it is a bit too aggressive. The meat is pretty decent though with good tenderness and good amount of fattiness. Overall seems like a pretty good new ramen place, looking forward to try the other broths.

We walked in on a Friday and sat at the little back bar. We ordered shishito peppers, gyoza, fried chicken thighs and tonkotsu ramen, all fantastic. Add an extra bowl of ramen noodles for $4. $10 warm hot sake was great. Service was excellent.

Just discovered this new gem! I had the spicy ramen. My bowl was filled to the brim with a mountain of bean sprouts and veggies, thick slices of pork (chashu), and thick, chewy noodles that almost overflowed. The hearty broth was rich with flavor and savory. Their rice bowls and side dishes were fantastic as well! I will definitely be back!

I feel so lucky to have a new, delicious Ramen restaurant in my neighborhood. My usual go to is Pork Tonkatsu but I went for the Chicken and Duck broth and was rewarded for deviating. The broth was multilayered and great and the noodles and pork were fantastic. I'm going back for the Pork Tonkatsu and may have to change my review to a 5!

Oh my gosh this was the best ramen I've ever had. The broth was so rich and the pork was 10/10, not just chunks of fat like so many ramen places. I'm very picky about my ramen and this was absolutely stellar. Perfectly jammy egg, slightly al dente noodles (sorry I only know the Italian word for this haha!) The service was great and the place was clean and had a good vibe. There's another ramen place down the street that had a crazy line/wait. Definitely skip it and come here instead!!

Happened into this new ramen place for lunch, so glad we did! The yasai (vegetable) miso ramen was very good. And I lived in Japan for 3 years. The service was great-gave us extra treats & bottomless tea. It was a chill atmosphere, relaxing & clean. I recommend this place! Domo!
